Chapter 9 A resounding slap

After few minutes, Miguel drove into the nearest boutique, "go and pick the clothe you want, here is the family Gold card," He said giving her the card.

She squeezed her face, "Thought you were going to follow me," She pouted but Miguel didn't bother to spare her a glance.

"I don't have the whole day, the entire family is waiting for your arrival so can you please get down?" He snapped while Jessica rolled her eyes and get down.

"Finally! She's out!" He breathed out and step on the gas, driving away from the boutique. "I will come back to pick her, she's gonna waste my time if I wait for her," he concluded as he got on the road.

"Dora!!" Adriana shriek as she sighted Dora standing beside a taxi driver, Dora turned with a bright smile.

They both ran into each other's arms, "Long time my dearest friend," Dora muttered and Adrianna burst into tears.

"A very long time," She whispered. They pulled away from the long hug, they both smiled at each other.

"Are these..." Dora asked looking at her kids and bent over to their level. "How are you, sweeties?" She politely asked and the kids responded with a bright smile.

"Fine, ma'am."

Dora stood straight looking at Adrianna, "It must have been hard, right?" She asked with a pout and Adrianna nod slowly almost shedding tears.

"Hard."

"It's okay, I can't believe what Rita did, She's broke up with Gilbert two months after," Dora said with a shook, Adrianna rolled her eyes.

"I don't want to dive into the past again, I'm here to make a new living, let's not talk about them, please, especially in front of my kids,"

Dora understood her well, she pat her gently on the shoulder, "Alright, I shouldn't be saying that to you now, let's go already. Kids? Get into car, aunt is about to take you on a long journey," She teased and the kids got into the cab.

"Thank you so much Dora," Adrianna muttered sniffing "I can't thank you enough."

"Don't mention, I can't forget what you did for me back then in college. I'm repaying all of that, come on let's go," Dora said sweetly getting into the cab alongside with Adrianna.

The cab came to a abrupt halt halfway, "Shit!" The driver cursed and look at Dora from the rear view. "I'm sorry ma'am but I will have to drop you off here," He announced and both Dora and Adrianna pinched their eyebrows.

"W-what? Why?" Dora was first to ask. "What happened?"

"The engine broke down, It has been fixed but acted up again," He explained and Dora took her lips in.

"This is bad, where do we find cab in this area?" She asked looking out through the window, she got down to see if she could see cab.

"Kids? Mummy is sorry but we will have to get down for a bit," Adrianna told her kids.

"Why mummy?"

"The car broke down, we will have to find another," Adrianna answered them, getting down.

The kids get down as well, the cab man made calls to his insurance company so they could come toll the car away.

"I'm so sorry miss, I will help you find another cab down there," The cab man said and Dora nod while he walked away.

"I should have brought my umbrella," Dora mumbled observing the sun getting hot while Adrianna chuckle. "Huh? You're laughing?"

"Because you're funny, Did you know the cab will break down?" Adrianna said and Dora breathed in.

"But still..."

"I know you're trying to make me feel comfortable here, don't stress yourself out, please."

"Okay, let's sit over there till he finds us another cab," Dora said pointing at the available seat across the road.

"Hmm, that's good."

Adrianna took Skyler and Scott's hand and cross the road, Dora was holding Scarlett's but suddenly Scarlett's hand slipped off, she went back to pick her shoe that fell.

"Scarlett!!" Dora screamed when she saw the car coming towards her on a high speed. Adrianna turn to see the scene, she gasp in shock, she ran to pull her daughter away.

The car came to a sudden stop, the little girl fell in front of it fearful. "Sweetie!" Adrianna got to the scene and pulled her into a tight hug.

"What the fuck! I almost killed someone!"Someone yelled behind them, he was the one driving the car.

Adrianna stood up wiping her tears, "We are sorry and thanks for stepping on the break," She muttered.

"Thank you? If I had hit her would you have thanked me?" The guy said angrily with his ear turning red.

"We...are sorry, sir," Adrianna apologized not daring to look at the guy's deadly face.

"You're apologizing because of your stupid carelessness! If you can't take responsibility of your child then why did you birth them?!" He yelled and that made Adrianna look at him batting her eyelashes from crying.

"What did you just say?" She growl through shaky voice, tears almost dropping.

"You heard me right, You shouldn't have given birth to them if you're not capable of-" A resounding slap landed on the guy's face, his cheeks turned red.

"Say one more word, I will slap you hundred times," Adrianna yelled and tears poured out of eyes. "You know nothing, you jerk!"
