Chapter 3 THREE

The two of them walked into a house, it looked ordinary from the outside but when they entered, it was magnificent. The house was built with pure gold and the interiors was breathtaking. A woman was standing at the top of the stairs when the two men entered. She had a very long hair which reached her waist line and it was pure white. On her body was a red gown and it clung onto her perfectly showing off her hourglass figure while the color of her lips was the same with her gown.

The minute she saw the two men enter the house, her lip curved up into a smile and she began to make her way down the stairs majestically while the two men stood without expressions on their faces. "I have been waiting for you" she said the moment she got to the foot of the stairs, "I knew you would come" she added still smiling but Adonis was not fazed. Rather he kept looking at her lazily while zeth was leaning on one of the gold pillars, rather than a lazy look, there was a mischievous glint around his eyes. "If you knew I was going to come, why did you keep calling out to me?" Adonis asked lazily. The lady turned towards zeth and the smile on her lips slowly disappeared and it was replaced with a little bit of an angry expression, "Why do you look dead?" She asked. "Maybe a little torture will make my day" he answered not bothering about the angry look on her face, he was already used to her. Without saying anything again, she walked over to one of her sofas and perched on it slowly like a queen. "Sit" "Just get this over with already, Selene" Adonis hissed, "I am not here to chit chat with you" She smirked, " someone is missing his beast mood. Well, I have news for you" This finally piqued zeth's interest and he immediately walked over to a couch and he sat down but stubborn Adonis still stood where he was without moving. Tall and mighty as always. "Do you know what your brothers have been doing behind your back?" Selene asked again but neither of them said anything and she sighed. "I always have to clean up your mess don't I?" "I don't have time for your jokes" "Jk and Lucan have been purposefully hurting people and bringing them to your hospital" This finally piqued the big guy's curiosity and his gaze tuned sharp for a while before going back to usual lifeless and cold one. "So how does that concern me?my job is to save them. How they get hurt is none of my business" "As usual, your ego is still too big. No one is to help you Adonis, no one at all" "Then what is zeth doing?" "Oh please, we both know he is your nemesis" Selene looked like she was enjoying the cold look in his eyes, after all he always looked dead and unlively. "So are you going to punish him because of that?" zeth asked. "What do you think?" "What will it be this time?ten thunder lashes ?twenty?do I have to peel my face?or should I save more people" Selene stood up and walked closer to him before placing her hand gently on his shoulder in a sensual manner, "Oh Adonis, you are always in a hurry to receive your punishment" "Someone here enjoys my torture" he glanced at zeth but the latter didn't have any form of expression on his face. " very well then but I am afraid I will have to punish zeth instead of you today" Both of their eyes opened wide for a while before going back to normal. "Why?" "I am just following orders" She moved away from him and went back to the sofa. "You don't have to punish him for my mistakes, I don't want to be indebted to anyone" "You should learn to have a little less ego Adonis, it will help" "What do I have to do?" Zeth interrupted. "Follow me" Selene stood up and moved towards a closed door while Adonis immediately blocked Zeth's part. "You don't have to take my punishment for me" his voice was cold and devoid of any emotions which made zeth smile a little. "Showing you care for someone doesn't suit you" and like that he walked away without looking back. He didn't stop looking at them until the two of them disappeared behind the door and his gaze intensified. He so badly wanted to squish Selene between his fingers. ............ He didn't know for how long he stood but his eyes immediately went to the door when he saw the knob turn and there she was, walking elegantly towards him and behind her was zeth who was just putting on his clothes and Adonis could see blood patches on his body. "What did you do to him?" He hissed at her. "Just a little advice Adonis. the more you slack off, the more people will get hurt" "I don't take orders from you" he growled. "For now you do" the smile on her face was no longer there but the tall man standing in front of her didn't even care, he was not scared of her. "Send your brothers back home" she turned on her heel and walked back to the sofa. "Don't take my punishment for me next time" Adonis growled at zeth, turned on his heel and walked out of the room. Without saying anything too, zeth followed suit while the smile on her face returned. Those two were her favorite but they just didn't know. .......... Adonis leaning on his car when zeth walked up to him, he didn't bother to say anything to him and just boarded the car and as usual, he closed his eyes and placed his head on the car headrest. After a while, Adonis entered the car too but he didn't drive, rather he turned his whole attention to the man beside him. "What kind of punishment did she give you?" "It doesn't matter Adonis, just drive" "I have my ego to protect zeth so I am warning you" Without saying anything again, he turned on the ignition and zoomed out of the compound but the man beside him didn't even care and just kept his eyes closed. ................................................................................................................................................ In Amy's house. A piping hotpot was placed in the middle while Jenna's eyes danced with joy. Coming to her friend's house always had its perks. "Oh aunt, I so love your hotpot. Should I come and live here with you?" Jenna squealed excitedly and everyone laughed at her, she was a big fan of food. "You can sell your soul for food Jenna" Rome teased and the latter pouted. "Look auntie, Rome is being mean to his elder" "Stop being a meanie Rome" Mr Winston chipped in. " he is right dad, Jenna loves food alot" Amy chipped in. Dinner with Jenna was always fun and when they were done with dinner, they washed the dishes and made their way to her room. It was a bit spacious and had a sense of Amy in every corner of the room. Her favorite color was yellow so her room had a good amount of yellow stuff. "Wash up and I will arrange the bed" Amy said and Jenna nodded before plodding Into the bathroom, a few minutes later she was out and Amy did the same. It was already past nine in the night when the two of them finally jumped into bed while Amy picked up a book from her mini library right at the corner of her bed. "Do you still have to read again?" Jenna pouted. "In less than five minutes, you will be snoring away and I have to deal with your bad snoring so a book to keep the thoughts away" Amy answered in a mocking tone. "Oh please, I don't snore" The two fell on talking and at intervals their giggles could be heard. "That doctor was hot though" Jenna chipped in casually and Amy gave an awkward smile when she remembered what happened in his office. "I fainted today in that doctors office" she couldn't hide it any longer especially not from her best friend. "What? How come?" "Maybe it was because I didn't eat my lunch" Jenna rolled her eyes, "you always skip your lunch" "I won't do that again, I promise" After a few more talks, Jenna actually fell asleep while Amy was deeply engrossed in the book she was reading but rather than seeing the words, the face of that handsome doctor kept floating over it. .............,... The next morning, Adonis was still sprawled on his bed with his eyes wide open. As usual, he was bare down to his waist and he looked like he didn't even get a single wink of sleep last night but luckily he didn't have the usual dreams again. After hearing footsteps by the door, he turned his head to face the wall because he already knew who was coming. For a man who was a billionaire, his room was too simple. He only had a bed and a candle stand by the far end of the room. The only place that looked luxurious was his closet aside that, his room was nothing to write home about. His door bust open and as usual zeth entered. He looked good as new and didn't have the blood patches on him anymore and he was actually dressed in a pair of blue tailored suit while his hair was tied in a high ponytail. "Must I come to drag you out of bed every morning?" He asked while standing by the door but the big guy on the bed didn't even bother to answer before sitting up. He sized zeth from head to toe and his lips finally curved up in a mocking smile. "It seems you remember that you have a life outside sticking to me like glue right?" Zeth smirked but didn't say anything, he kept looking at the man on the bed until he heard the clock on the wall chime. It was already past nine. "I am off to country M so you have yourself to take care of if anything happens. And for a doctor, you should be in the hospital by now" saying that, he turned on his heel and walked away briskly. After sitting on the bed for a while, Adonis dragged his lazy body from the bed and proceeded into his bathroom m. Weather he liked it or not, he had to go to the hospital. ...... Coming downstairs, he was dressed in a pair of white suit. This time around, he had his hair tied in a bun and he looked like something straight out of a painting. To perfect for a human. "Good morning sir" the butler greeted as he handed him a glass of black coffee. Ever since he began to work for Adonis, he has only seen his boss drink black coffee and nothing more in the mornings and he hardly ever ate. After drinking the coffee, he strode out of the house gently and after awhile, the sound of his black mayback's ignition was heard and he drove away. ............ "Oh my gosh, I am late again" Amy muttered to herself as she drove away on her scooter. It was already past nine and she was not yet at the library m. Well the traffic was to blame and she hoped Mrs peters would understand. Nothing bothering to check how slow she was driving, a car honk immediately made her to stop and if not for her fast reflexes, she would have been thrown off the road. It was an almost lonely road as cars didn't really frequent it but seeing the luxurious car that almost hit her, she was in awe. But that not withstanding, the person in the car had to apologize. "Hey" she went towards the window and knocked but the person in the maybach ignored her which made her to continue knocking until she saw the car door open which made her to move a few inches away from the car. The moment Amy saw the person who climbed out of the car, once again she was lost for words. It was that handsome doctor from the hospital but this time around he looked more mighty and more confident especially in his white suit but the moment she saw his eyes, her heart broke. They always looked lifeless and sad like he didn't even want to exist in this world. "If you are done ogling, can I leave now?" Adonis said in his deep voice and she jolted in embarrassment. "You almost hit me with your car sir" Amy tried fo cover up her shame but the man in front of her looked like he didn't even understand what she was saying. "You were in the middle of the road" Adonis said after a while and she bit her lips. "Is that why you almost crushed me with your car?" The big guy didn't answer as he leaned on his car, then he began to study her. Today she was dressed in a pair of black flat pants and a white crop top coupled with a beige coat and she looked modest yet not exquisite. And what's with the googles anyway?her hair was messy due to the wind but it looked clean. "What are you doing?" She asked when she saw him looking at her weirdly. "If you are done, can I leave?" He asked lazily and Amy didn't know if she should cry or laugh, was he kidding her right now? "Aren't you supposed to apologize?" "For what?" "You almost killed me" she half yelled. "Then you should be lucky, some of us actually wish for it" She didn't know why she felt a tug of pain in her chest as those words left his mouth. It was as if he was begging to be saved. "You should learn to say sorry when you're in the wrong" Adonis didn't even know what to say. Him?say sorry?he had never said sorry before in his life and he was not going to start saying sorry because of this little, this "little fox" in front of him. For a split second, he laughed at himself. How did he even come up with the fox idea? "And why are you laughing?" Amy was amazed, this man almost killed her and he was laughing?is he a psychopath? Checking out his golden watch, Adonis turned his attention on the "little fox again" "Seems you are not prepared for work today" Reality dawned on her and she immediately smacked herself on the head and ran towards her scooter. She didn't even spare the man another look again before driving away, she was sure going to get an earful today. Adonis watched her drive away and didn't move until she was no longer in sight. At least a little interesting thing happened in his life today. Turning on his heel, he entered his car and zoomed off.
