Chapter 5 LIVING WITH THEM

After running out of his office I ran straight into my room thank goodness I paid attention to my surroundings when coming to Damien's office damn it.

I have been crying for the past few minutes now, Sophie kept asking me to open the door but I didn't listen, I can't believe she is also a wolf. I need to get out of this place.

I started searching for an escape route but couldn't find any, the only option I have now is the window.

I looked down to see the distance and thankfully it wasn't that far. I will just have a broken rib and also a twisted ankle, it will hurt for a while and heal up on its own. I quickly packed my things.

Thank goodness it wasn't much, I opened the window with the bag in my hands and jumped out.

Aww, it hurts.

I heard footsteps coming closer, I quickly hid behind the flower and saw a guy coming. He walked past and didn't see me. I was doing a happy dance in my head but it was short-lived when he suddenly sniffs the air. What is he doing?

I saw him keep sniffing back till he got to where I was standing. "Who are you?"He asked. I was shaking and didn't know what to say.

Before I knew it, he snatched my hands.

"Never! I won't let this happen again," I quickly brought out my pocket knife and stabbed it into his stomach.

He screamed and released me. I quickly raced out of that place cause I think his scream must have alerted the others. It was hard running since I twisted my ankle but I continued. I didn't mind the pain.

I have been running for some time now but haven't come across anyone. It was full of bushes. I was so tired I couldn't take it any longer and I fell. I started another round of tears. I just sat close to the tree to rest. For not long there was a downpour. I didn't know where to hide so I just stayed there under the downpour.

Not long after the heavy downpour I felt something running towards me, I wanted to stand up but I couldn't damn it.

I screamed so hard that I fainted.

Beep beep beep

I tried to open my eyes but couldn't. I did so for like three times till I was finally able to open my eyes.

I saw that I was in a different room, the smell of hospitals I hate so much.

"How did I get here?" I asked no one in particular, then I recalled seeing a giant beast before fainting. It was gray and the eyes were blue.

"Selena, Thank goodness you are fine, why the heck did you do that? Don't you know you can die from jumping down from that height?"

"Don't know you would have died if you came across any rogue. For goodness sake remember you are a human and not that strong. Thank Goodness Damien found you on time,"

Sophie came in and continued rambling on and on. It touched me, like for the first time in my life someone cared about me. If a wolf can do this then why can't I live with them?

"Miss, why are you not saying anything?" She asked, holding her hips, which kind of made me smile.

"I was scared," I muttered.

"You were scared? Why are you?" She said now in a calm and caring way.

"I never knew anything about wolves, I was always taught that wolves are harmful and can kill, so when Damien told me about him being a wolf and you guys also being so I became scared. I have no other choice but to run away from you guys," Woah I have never talked this much in my life.

"Hold on, you think that I am going to hurt you even when you are my brother's mate?" She asked, cracking up. Did she just mention me being her brother's mate? How the heck did she know?

"How did you know I am your brother's mate?" I asked.

"I kind of guessed and you just proved me right, you are such a naive little girl," she said, pulling my cheek.

Little girl? Maybe I was wrong about us being of the same age.

"Please Sophie can you please not mention it to anyone including Damien?" I pleaded, I don't want to be in trouble with Damien again.

"Awwwwn with these puppy eyes I can't decline your request, so I am telling you that you have my word he isn't hearing a single thing from me." She says showing a sign that her mouth is zipped and also that the key was thrown away.

"Selena I know my brother isn't going to be that nice to you but trust me he has a soft spot in him," What the heck he told me never to cross my limit with him.

We have been chatting for some time though Sophie has been the one doing the talking while I am listening. Damien hasn't shown up. I kind of felt hurt with him not coming to visit me. If I get home I would thank him and also apologize for misunderstanding them and running away.

Not long after a beautiful female doctor came in, she told Sophie to excuse us and was hesitant at first but later agreed when I told her I would be okay being with the doctor alone.

After she left I saw the way the lady continued staring at the scan she was holding, she didn't see my bruises right? I became conscious of it immediately, no she can't see it if she does she gonna tell Damien, he already called me weak I can't allow him to call me a loser. I waited for the doctor to say why the problem was then I saw her breathe in and out before talking.

"Miss Selena, you have a lot of broken bones and dislocated joint, I was surprised when I saw it so I checked your body and found a different kind of scars, some has healed up while some are healing up and there are new ones which weren't that long, so miss how did you get all these wounds and why didn't you get it treated?" She asks me softly.

"I got it when I was working, my former job is very dangerous and stressful that is why I resigned and thank goodness Damien found me, after telling him my story he decided to help me so he brought me here." I lied to her. He doesn't want me to tell anyone I am his mate so you don't expect me to tell the truth.

"Miss, I have been a doctor for the past 15 years so I can tell of abuse when I see one. You can't keep lying to me, I know this isn't an accident or something where did you get these scars from? You can tell me I won't tell anyone if that's what you are afraid of." She said calmly.

"I'm fine as long as you give me the medication. I'm going to take my medicine, no need to stress myself. I'm used to it and besides the broken bones didn't affect my life that much. With time I know, it's going to heal," I said, making her stop questioning me.

"It won't heal up if you don't take care of yourself with what I see from you. You don't have your wolf in you to help you." She said again.

"I'm a human you don't need to call me a wolf and please can we stop this wolf and abuse talk," I muttered. But, she smiled at me.

"Fine! Maybe because you just know me today you are scared I am going to reveal things about you so I will leave you. But, anytime you need someone to run to I am here hun I would listen to whatever you want to say. And for now please you need to take care of yourself and have a lot of bed rest so you can heal up." She said to me, smiling.

"Thanks a lot for that. I appreciate it and please don't mention this to Damien. I won't wanna stress him out after he helped me." I tried to convince her.

" He doesn't like it when others call him by his name only his sister has the right to. Seems you know nothing about our world and now you are here you need to be extra careful, Apart from me the Alpha and Sophia with some other trustable people no one else knows that so it will be better if you tell Sophie to put you through how we live our lives." She explained to me calmly.

"Thanks about that, can I go home today," I asked, getting sick of this place already.

"I'm sorry no I won't agree that you need to stay here so I can watch you carefully, and again before saying anything you asked me to do you a favor and I did so please can you also do mine for me by having a good bed rest by staying in the hospital for sometime." She said a lot loudly this time.

I sighed and nodded my head not like I had a Say.

TWO WEEKS AFTER

I was finally discharged from the hospital today and finally able to breathe in the fresh air. So I am currently in my room doing God knows why.

Sophie has been the friend I never had, she stays with me when she has the time to and also comes with clothes and food including socks and a scarf.

It seems she noticed I couldn't do that, she still hasn't asked me why I dress that way of which I am happy for.

These past few weeks I have known a lot about wolves, how the moon goddess already provides them a partner and how they mate. I also now know about the wolves' rank.

From the Alpha to the Omega and how they all live in a pack. Seems the mansion I called castle is a pack. I also read about how the wolf feels pain when being rejected.

With my current relationship with the Alpha, I am very sure he is going to reject me. Thank God I am a human and I won't be able to feel any pain.

I have also learned to call him Alpha since the day Jane warned me about it. Yeah, I finally know her name, she has been nothing but a caring and lovely lady.

She is the only one who knows about my scars and she promised not to tell anyone about them including her Alpha and Sophie.

I heard the door being knocked and I told the person to come in, then I saw a lady come in. I wonder what she wants.

"The Alpha wants to see you," Those five letters stopped me from breathing freely. The last time I saw him it ended in a total disaster. Why would he want to see me today?

I know I should thank him for bringing me back the other day but since he doesn't want me to cross my limit I have tried to distance myself from him also now he wants to see me terrifies me.

I wanted to tell her to go tell him I can't come but I can't withstand his anger so I decided to meet him without wasting much time.

I noticed the closet is kind of with some nice clothes now all thanks to Sophie. I picked up a hoodie and also took baggy trousers.

She knows what exactly fits me.

I left my room and went downstairs to his office. I didn't miss the stares people were giving me when I came across them.

Not long after I got to the front door of Damien's office I breathed out before knocking on the door. I heard a grumpy Come in then I went in.

There he stood in all his glory with his back facing me, the man who brought me here and called me his mate, the one who made me know that the supernatural being I have always thought is not real is real.

He turned to face me with those blue eyes glaring at me with all the hatred in this world and said those words I have always expected him to say , which were going to change my life forever.
