Chapter 9 Stun the Crowd

On the second day of working in the President's Mansion, Hannah's work began to get on the right track, and she had become busy since then.

In a blink of an eye, more than a week had passed, and it was Kevin and Melissa's engagement day.

Initially, Hannah did not expect that there would be any trouble attending their engagement ceremony. However, after getting up on Saturday and looking through all the clothes in her closet, she began to regret her decision.

Much to her dismay, she did not have any clothes suitable for the engagement banquet.

"Hey, why are you looking so upset?" Out of nowhere, Tiana appeared in a sexy nightdress. Leaning against the door of her room, she crossed her hands while shaking her fair slender legs.

Staring at Tiana's chest, Hannah couldn't help but chuckle. She then sat down on the bed and joked, "I wish I were a man."

As Tiana lowered her head to look at her chest, she gave Hannah a sidelong glance before walking over to her. Then, she spread her legs and sat on Hannah's body while holding Hannah's shoulders with both hands. Smiling captivatingly, she asked, "Babe, what do you think of this position?"

Hannah's mouth twitched. She then lay on the bed without trying to resist while murmuring, "Melissa's engagement ceremony is at 11 o'clock noon, but I don't have suitable clothes to put on. What should I do?"

Upon hearing that, Tiana slid down from her body and lay on the bed as well. "You really want to go?"

Hannah turned to look at her. "Of course!"

Knitting her eyebrows, Tiana thought for a moment before she sprung up from the bed and pulled Hannah up as she urged, "Hurry up. Wash up and come with me."

"What's the matter?"

"I'll bring you to a place for a makeover!"

At once, Hannah was lost for words.

Tiana brought Hannah to a high-quality custom-made clothing store.

Since it was still too early, the clothing store had not opened, but Tiana made their plan work with just a phone call. On top of that, there were people waiting for them respectfully.

After Hannah explained the purpose of their visit, the staff at the clothing store immediately picked out a few dresses suitable for her.

Upon looking at those dresses, Hannah chose two of them.

One was a tight black short dress, and the other was a mauve laced knee-length dress.

Hannah first tried on the black dress. Even though it fitted very well as if it was tailored for her, it was too short, barely covering her butt. It looked better on Tiana but not her.

"It looks good on you as if it is specially tailor-made for you." Beside her, the staff commented simperingly.

"Yes, it does look nice on you. It wraps your body perfectly and brings out your hourglass figure." Leaning against the sofa, Tiana rested her feet on the coffee table and shook them while expressing her opinion.

Rolling her eyes, Hannah decided to ignore her opinion. Then, she turned around and went to the fitting room to change into the second dress.

"Wow! Fortunately, you didn't choose the first one because you look even more stunning in this." When Hannah came out, Tiana's eyes suddenly lit up, and she immediately jumped up from the sofa with excitement.

"Really?" While asking uncertainly, Hannah sized herself up before the mirror.

"Of course!" Tiana went over to hold her shoulders and turned her over. As she carefully looked at Hannah up and down again, she praised, "You look like a sexy agent in that black dress, but when you wear this mauve dress, you look like an angel from heaven. If you put on light makeup and style your hair, I can guarantee that you will be the most stunning woman at noon later."

Standing by the side, the staff was also amazed by Hannah's beauty as they fixed their eyes on her.

Although it was a simple plain dress, it surprisingly looked breathtaking on Hannah.

Chuckling, Hannah took another look at herself in the mirror. "Today is Melissa's engagement ceremony. Why do I have to be stunning?"

"Of course you do. Otherwise, why would I bring you here?" Exasperated, Tiana continued, "You were not only bullied by Melissa since young and have never worn any beautiful clothes, but she even snatched Kevin from you. Now that it's their engagement ceremony, are you seriously going to wish them happiness?"

Upon hearing that, Hannah was rendered speechless.

"This is the one. Don't you dare change it out!" Glaring at Hannah, Tiana gave her a stern look as if she would sever ties with her if she refused to wear the dress.

Looking at Tiana, Hannah lifted the corners of her lips, "Alright, I'll wear this."

After they picked the dress, Tiana took Hannah to put on make-up. Only after that did she unhurriedly send Hannah to the engagement venue.

When Hannah got out of the car, Tiana suddenly held her and asked worriedly, "Do you want me to come with you?"

Tiana knew that Hannah had a good temper and was too kind. Because of that, she was often bullied by the Porter family in the past, which also led her stepmother to come up with that dirty idea of asking her to earn money by being a surrogate mother.

As Hannah turned around and looked at Tiana, she beamed, "Are you afraid that I'll be bullied?"

Raising her eyebrows, Tiana replied, "That might happen."

Amused, Hannah lowered her head and giggled.

To be honest, it was her greatest fortune to have a friend like Tiana.

"Don't worry, I can handle it."

"Okay, call me if you need help."

With a nod, Hannah agreed. Then, she gave Tiana a hug before getting out of the car.

Standing by the roadside, Hannah watched Tiana leave. It was not until the car disappeared from sight that she turned around and walked toward the six-star hotel behind her.

At present, Canics Group was a huge and prestigious enterprise in Sashie. Even the Porter family's enterprise had been doing well in recent years. Therefore, it was only natural that the engagement ceremony between the only son of Canics Group and the daughter of the Porter family was held extravagantly. Otherwise, how could it match the status of the two families?

In the afternoon of July, the sun was particularly scorching. By just walking more than 200 meters from the roadside to the hotel entrance, Hannah felt as if her whole body had been burned, and her fair tender skin began to redden.

The engagement ceremony was held in the banquet hall on the fourth floor of the hotel. Because Hannah came late, the engagement ceremony was about to begin by the time she arrived.

"Miss, do you have an invitation card?" At the banquet hall entrance, the waiter standing by the door looked at Hannah and asked politely.

With a faint smile, Hannah replied, "My name is Hannah Porter, and I'm from the Porter family."

After looking up and down at her, the waiter felt that she was not lying, judging from her appearance and temperament, so he immediately let her in.

"I don't think she's from a prestigious family. Maybe she's a mistress or a lover of some bosses, making a fool of herself at this place."

"I don't think so. If she's a homewrecker, how dare she come to such an occasion alone? She'll just make a fool of herself."
