Chapter 4

Gabriella's pov

What the hell am I doing here" Eden yelled back at me. Then he stood for a moment trying to recall how he got to my room.

I came here because you were trying to disturb the peace of this house with your scream while dreaming. You dragged my hands refusing to let me go to my room. By the way, I shouldn't be explaining anything to you, the house belongs to me and I can sleep wherever I want to " he replied and walked off.

I sighed and went inside the bathroom to take my bath and get dressed for the day.

We are attending another meeting held for business owners. My dad already gave me a heads-up on why I was asked to be there. Acting as Eden's wife sucks but then I do not have a choice.

As usual, Eden held me by the waist while we walked over to where the meeting was held. Eden and I went over to where Edward was sitting. The meeting started with different people giving out their speeches. I felt a little bit left out since I wasn't familiar with anything related to skin care products. Eden walked up to the podium to give his speech.

Aside from the fact that Eden had a bad attitude, he was a good-looking man, with brown dreaming eyes and a well-built body structure. While I was paying attention to what he was saying I felt the presence of someone sitting close to me. I turned my head around to see who it was, Bryan sat close to me grinning heavily.

"Ohh God not today " I muttered under my breath.

He had a little bruise on his face from where Eden punched him.

Eden's ex-girlfriend Lily came to sit close to Bryan she gave me a weird look and continued staring at Eden smiling Sheepishly.

Don't tell me you're still in love with that idiot Bryan asked Lily whispering into her ears.

She pushed his face away and gave him a huge glare. Eden was done giving his speech and came back to his seat and sat down by my left-hand side while Lily and Bryan were by my right side.

What are those idiots doing here Eden looked at me asking like I had an answer to his question.

Anyway, I will be back in a bit, I have a brief meeting upstairs. Stay around and I shouldn't look for you "he said, picked up his briefcase, and left with Edward. Immediately Eden left Bryan stood up and went towards the direction Eden took.

Who are you to Eden? Lily asked moving over to Bryan's seat. I looked at her blankly and faced front.

Are you deaf? I said who are you to Eden? She asked rudely.

What do you think??

His wife of course " I replied giving her a fake smile.

Oh please you're just one of the girls he uses and dumps, so don't get too excited.

I am his girlfriend just so you know. I looked at her and gave her a look like I didn't care.

Eden's Pov

Good afternoon Mr Smith

Afternoon to you

Mr Smith is a well-known businessman who my company has been looking forward to his company investment in mine.

You can have your sit " he said.

I sat down and proceeded to bring out where I mapped out my business proposal.

How about your wife? He asked

I asked her to wait while I came to see you. I replied him

Can you call her to come here, I would like to meet her. Mr Smith asked

Mr Smith was one of the reasons I agreed to sign the contract marriage. He wouldn't agree to accept my proposal until he was sure I was married. So it's a win-win for both Gabriella's family and mine. I get to work with Mr Smith while Gabriella's father also gets to grow his company.

A few minutes later Gabriella walked into the room and exchanged pleasantries with Mr Smith

Alright let's hear your proposal, Mr Smith said

I stood up to start when Lily and Bryan walked in.

Hope I am not late. Bryan asked smiling at me.

You're late but you are pardoned for today. Mr Smith answered him.

I looked at Bryan and then at Mr Smith feeling very confused but maintaining my position.

Mr Smith broke the awkward atmosphere by clearing his throat. Bryan here is also seeking for what you are after and I am accepting just one person among you both, so may the best man win. He said and gave me a go-ahead signal.

I took a deep breath to calm my nerves, I was starting to lose my temper. Bryan has been on my throat for too long and he is beginning to test my patience. I handed over some paperwork to Mr Smith while I went ahead to explain everything in detail as regards the proposal. After I was done Mr Smith went ahead to do his.

I am very impressed by your proposals and I must commend you both but unfortunately, I am accepting just one person. But first of all, I would like to ask how you plan on expanding your company and what I stand to gain by investing in your company.

Mr. Bryan, please go ahead first, Mr. Smith said

Aside from our usual skincare products we plan on adding body lotions suitable for different skin types and we are sure it will cause a great expansion in my company, Bryan answered.

I looked at Bryan and gave a devilish smile, dumb ass, stealing people's products and ideas is all he does best.

Mr Eden, can I hear from your end?

Since my company produced skincare for women and body lotions for different types of skin. I said smirking at Bryan.

For expansion skincare products would be expanded to men also. We will create skincare products suitable for both genders, that way the demand will increase on both ends. Mr Smith gave a big smile after I was done talking. He stood up and shook hands with me.

Congratulations Mr Eden you have my full support. My team will stop by later to sign the contract. I will take my leave now he said and walked out of the room.

I looked at Bryan and laughed out loud. You're still the dumb ass I knew, you should look for ways to help yourself rather than carrying this used product with you, I said pointing toward Lily

I drove back to my house feeling very much fulfilled after sharing the good news with my dad. My company will sustain its position. I dropped down from my car while Gabriella tailed after me.

Eden, babe Lily yelled running towards me. Did you follow down to my house despite all the warnings I gave you?? I asked her angrily.

What is this lady doing here in your house?? Does she live with you?? Lily asked grabbing my hands and ignoring my question.

I flung her hands off mine.

Don't you dare touch me with that filthy hands " I yelled.

Why do you hate me this much? She said hugging from the back.

Eden tell this lady to move out of your house, I am your girlfriend, don't you remember??

You love me right?? She asked

I stood still trying to suppress my anger.

She didn't stop there, she moved right in front, moved her head towards my face, rushing her lips towards mine roughly. I pushed her away from me and dragged Gabriella who was watching what was going on.

This is my wife " I yelled
