Chapter 7 Running for my life

**KENDRA**

Oh, the sun is rising, thank goodness it's morning. I just wish the night will carry this nightmare along with it. I wish someone would tap me and tell me that this is just a dream. I wish I'll be able to see mom again. And Kara too.

I've been running since last night, I don't know where am running to or what I'm running from. All I know is I came home late last night after clubbing with my friends. I was late on purpose, I just wanted to piss mom off, I felt she deserved it because of the slap she gave me the other day. I wanted to show her that she wasn't the boss of me.

I opened the entrance and made my way to the living room, expecting to find mom there, standing and waiting for me angrily. But, the room was dark and quiet when I got there. It felt off, because mom wouldn't go to bed without yelling at me for being late. Maybe she was giving me a silent treatment.

I marched to my room, it was exhausting climbing up the stairs but I did it anyway. I was about to open the door when I heard a loud noise.

I was not sure but it sounds like a Gunshot. I heard the sound again and this time I was sure it was a gun shot, and it came from downstairs. I didn't Know what to do, the thought of going to mom came to me so I ran off to her room. I rushed in, but the room was empty. I checked the bathroom and closet, but it was also empty. That's when I noticed that her bed was perfectly laid. That means, she wasn't in bed at all.

I rushed to Kara's room Even though I didn't want to, I opened the door and was surprised to see that it was also empty. Her bed was also laid. That's when I started panicking. Although the sounds stopped after the second one, I still felt frightened.

I summed up courage and strength taking slow steps towards the living room. I was already there when I heard noises. I hid behind the pillar. I peeped and saw two men, coming from the back entrance. I stayed still, trying my best not to make noises. They left using the front door, and the living room was empty once again.

I stood there in the dark, wondering what to do. Suddenly a thought came to me. I picked up my phone from my bag and dialed mom's number, but I was surprised when I heard it ring in the living room. I could see the light on her screen in the other side of the room. I hurriedly ran towards it and picked it up, it was wet, I could tell that the liquid was thick. I went to the wall and turned on the light switch.

No!

I didn't know how to react. I didn't know if I should cry or scream. I didn't know if I should believe my eyes.

Mom was lying down in a pink dress that was now a combination of pink and red.

Tears filled my eyes as I ran towards her corpse. I held her hands and pressed them to my face. Her body was cold and lifeless, the blood on the floor was already getting dry. That means she was killed longer ago. That's when I noticed a stab on her back. It was Soo deep, and the sight of it made me cry more. So, she was not killed with the gun. Someone stabbed her.

I picked up my phone and was about to call Kara but stopped immediately when I saw mom's face. She didn't look the same at all. She had long teeth and claws, her face looked deadly. I was lost in thoughts when a voice interrupted me. " she's in there." I heard the voice say, I raised my head and saw two guys, they were outside. One was brunette and the other had black hair. They looked as hideous as mom and this frightened me. I didn't know what they were looking for, but I was sure they were up to no good.

The next thing I knew was they were coming towards me slowly, and I felt like they were just giving me a head start. I took the opportunity and ran towards the back door, I could see them getting faster. I kept on running without looking back. But their pace was incredibly unbelievable. Within seconds, they caught me.

I couldn't believe it. Those creatures caught me within seconds. I stared in utter disbelief.

"What do you want?" I asked half yelling and half crying.

"just shut up. And stop crying, it makes me feel sick!." the black haired creature said.

I kept screaming and crying, but stopped as I felt a sharp pain on my left cheek. I put my hands on my cheek and felt blood. I looked at the guy wide eyed!. He just hit me! The black haired creature just hit me!

"Hey! Blake. What did you do that for? She's just a girl." the brunette said.

"I warned her. She should have listened". Blake said.

"Why can't we just fly there. It'll be a lot faster." Brunette guy said.

"So, they can fly too?." I thought to myself.

"Look we are not going to fly, and that's final. You know other coven members want her. They'll fight us once they find out we've got her. We need to hand her over to him personally. It's the only way to get promoted." Blake replied to his friend.

"who wants me and why?" I asked inwardly, scared of what they'll do to me if I said it out loud.

The rest of the walk was quiet. Soon we were leaving town and were headed towards the woods.

"I need to feed, keep an eye on her." Blake said before leaving me with the brunette guy.

We sat under the tree and waited for Blake.

"What are you?" I asked him curiously?

"VAMPIRES". He answered indifferently.

His answer hit me like a knife in the chest!

I stared at him wide eyed and my thoughts went back to mom. She's also a Vampire? And then, I remembered Kara, she came to me the other night and said something was off about Max and Mom knows what. So, this is what she was talking about. Oh! My God.

My mom is a Vampire!
