Chapter 7 She Is Enemy

Riley squirmed in sleep, she was feeling restless, her back was aching badly. She blinked her eyes twice, she winces due to the severe headache she felt.

'Take this' she half opened her eyes and saw a glass filled with water was placed in front of her, her eyes moved from glass to the hand that was holding it and from hand her sight moved to the face of the person.

Her breath hitched when she saw the same arrogant man standing holding the glass, glaring at her.

With shaking hands, she held the glass with her both hands, and took a small sip of water, it felt like several needles were inserted in her throat, she coughed.

'Drink it, you will feel better' seeing her condition, he said politely.

Enzo moved back letting the girl to drink water, he knew she is afraid of him, getting back to his chair he opened her file, which he was reading before she groaned in pain.

Riley relaxed when he increased the distance between them, his presence was suffocating for him. After that one sip, she gulped down whole glass in one go.

'Can I have more?' she asked in low voice, not sure how he will react.

'Here is the jug' pointing towards the jug on his desk he allowed her to drink water.

Rushing towards the jug due to the thirst, she felt the pain shooting up again in her body, causing her to stop and let the pain lessen.

Enzo kept his head down, however he was observing her every act with narrowed eyes. He raised his head when heard her wincing again.

'Is it hurting?' Riley looked at the man in front of her in shock, why was he polite to her, wasn't he the same person who was shouting at her back in the prison.

Thinking of prison, she realized she was not in the same place anymore, so when he said she will go with them he was serious, is it the same mansion they brought her before.

'Where am I?' instead of giving him an answer she counter back with question to him.

'Italy' one-word answer was given to her, Riley lost her voice, she was brought to a totally different land, he didn't have manners to at least inform her or asked her, then she smiled sarcastically on her own thoughts, about whom she was talking of manners, the one who she doubt even knows the meaning of this word, mafia and manners were totally opposite sides and can never overlap or touch each other.

Ignoring her presence Enzo was busy in reading the file, when a crease formed on his forehead, tapping his fingers on the desk he lifts his face to have a glance at the girl standing in the middle of his office.

'Riley Campbell!' rolling out her name on his tongue he was intensely looking at her, whereas she fidgets her hands, how come he knew her name, she remembers very well he never asked her for the name nor she told him.

'Yes' she whispered, though Enzo was unable to listen what she said, fact was he wasn't concerned about this right now.

'Seems like we have too much to talk' closing the file he slides it on his desk across him.

Riley looked at him befuddled, when she took small steps to cover up the distance till his desk, with shaky hands she pulled the chair and sat opposite of him.

'Open the file Riley Campbell' with stern voice, he asked her to open the file.

'What is it about?' she didn't touch the file, as if it was something deadly or she thought after the sudden change in the tone of the man.

'Why don't you check it by yourself' Enzo's face was void of every expression one couldn't judge or assume what he was thinking or about to do next and that was the most dreading about him for his opponent.

Riley slide the tongue on her lips, the intense atmosphere, her fear and the man sitting across her, nothing was helping her out, instead they all forced her to shudder.

'Relax Riley relax' her mind chant inwardly, she glanced at the file and then to Enzo.

'I don't have enough time' his irritated voice, Riley closed her eyes, she needed a moment to gather her senses, exhaling loudly she took the file in her hands and inserting her right thumb inside the file from bottom, she flipped the cover and she was astounded when she saw her own name and picture on the very first page of the file.

She looked up at the man, who arched his brow at her.

'Go ahead, read' he persuaded her, Riley had already started hating this man, and not because of one reason, the man had given her more than one reason to hate him.

'Why my name and picture is here?' her emotions were slowly and gradually taking roll on her.

'Because this is your personal information file, which my people gathered about you on my order' by this he badly wanted to kill the stupid girl who has wasted and was still wasting his time.

'Why?' she turned the page and started reading the details, every information about her was correct, her date of birth, her addresses, back in England and now in France, her friends name with numbers and her parents information as well, even her dead mothers information was also there.

Enzo rolled his eyes and ignored her question when saw her going through the file, his purpose was achieving and that's what he was concerned.

'Who are you? Government person who keeps the record of citizens?' Enzo hissed, the girl had touched his patience level and anytime soon he will lose up.

'Read the complete file Riley Campbell, I am not an ordinary person, my work is kept on pending just because of you being a dawdle' he yelled at her, in response Riley flinched.

'I am doing' raising her hands in surrender she started to read the pages, confused as to why he wants her to read about her own age, living and working places and her parents background, however, while going through the pages in the file, a line in bold caught her attention which was the only line highlighted in the whole file.

Her father was working for Russian mafia, and her stepmother was also with him.
