Chapter 4 Was it a fake

Chapter 4

**Emma Harper's POV**

"Marry me," he says.

My eyes widens with the greatest shock. The man in front of me who is the CEO of ZB group of companies wants to get married with me. Why?

"Why? Why should I marry you? Are you trying to kid with me just because I am poor. I just hate rich people like you. You make fun of people like me," I say as I try to walk away from there.

"Stop! Two million dollars. I am going to give you two million dollars for getting married with me. I will consider your studies and also your brother's regular medical bills," he says.

Two million dollars isn't a joke. With that money, I can take the best courses of my life and my brother will get proper treatment on time.

But it's a marriage. Why would be marry someone like me and give such a huge amount of money to me?

"Why would you give me such huge money and how did you know about my brother?" I ask.

"That's not important. Call me on the number in the card and meet me tomorrow on my office if you agree to the terms," he says.

He walks towards the road and hauls a taxi.

"Get in," he says and opens the door for me.

I pick up my shoes and get inside the taxi. He sits right beside me. He is so close towards me that my heart feels so much heaved with him beside.

The taxi stops in front of the pub and he gets out from there.

"Get out. I will leave you your home," be says and I nod.

He is stranger to me. But I don't know why I am not feeling insecurities around him?

I should have felt insecurities. But I guess my condition are so worse that I am not in the choice of thinking about insecurities at this moment.

I get out from the taxi. He pays for it and he opens the door of his car.

I get in and he starts the car as he asks me the address of my home.

I hesitate to give him my address at first but he assures me he isn't going to do anything weird to me.

"It's here," I say and he stops the car.

"I don't know why you want to get married with me but you should know about my reality phase. I think you should try on someone else for this proposal," I say as I open the door of the car.

He holds my wrist as I am about to get out of the car.

"Stay still," he says and pulls a bag from the seat behind.

I stay confused.

He holds my hands in his and places an ice cubes on them.

"Your hands are swollen and your legs are hurt. I don't want my bride to be in this miserable condition. Take these medicines and put them on your wounds," he hands me the bag of medicine and I nod and walk out of the car.

He drives away from me and it's still raining heavily. I put on my heels a clutch the cloth as I am shivering from cold.

"His coat?" I whisper but he is already gone away from there.

I run quickly with my still hurting legs to my old and small apartment.

I throw away the clothes in my small old couch and change to warm and dry clothes and dry myself.

After having my dinner, I place myself on the bed and stare at the medicines he gave me.

"Marry me," he said.

But why?

I look at the calendar. Only ten days left to finish this month and there is still not even a half of the money to pay for my brother's bills with me.

No. Nothing is important to me except my brother. For him I can do anything even it means sacrificing myself to him.

So, I make the firm decision that I will be marrying him. On this phase of my life, I even can give up my life for my brother.

I grab the medicines and out them on. I don't know but silent tears rolls down my eyes as I think of marriage.

I am just eighteen years common girl and I have to go through so much of things in this last some years.

Life has been so hard on me after I lost my parents on the accident. I was happy then. I didn't know what pain was when my parents were with me but everything changed after they passed away.

And on top of that, my brother involved himself in the drug addiction adding the problems to me.

I had applied for the scholarship. I thought I would have paid his bills with that money but I could rarely get time to study in last some days.

It's been ages that I haven't got any sleep.

"Ouch, it stings," the painful sting adds more of tears in the rim of my eyes and I cry bitterly.

Marriage isn't what I always dreamt to do but I had to do it for the sake of my brother.

Next morning, I wake up late. I haven't slept like this. Every morning, I would run for the work and payment but I have some other important stuffs today.

I take a shower. My nose is kind of runny as I was wet yesterday in rain. I get some bread and butter for my breakfast and then rush to his company.

I call him quite a times but his phone isn't picked up.

Is everything he told me last night some joke?

I need that money so much. There is only nine days remaining for this month and there is no way that I could collect that sum of money.

I stop the taxi in front of the company and breathe heavily.

"Mam, do you have an appointment," a lady in a front desk office asks me.

"No, I don't. But he will know me when you say my name. My name is EmmaHarper," I say.

"Sorry mam. You need to book an appointment first," she replies.

I just give her pale smile and get seated in the lobby. I try to call him one more time and he doesn't picks up the call.

Why give me his number when be doesn't want me to call him? I am distressed.

I plan to get back. He ruined my day with false hope. It would have been better if I had been to the work and gain some penny. That would be help.

I turn around to get back when I feel someone hold my hand from behind.

"Miss Harper,"
