Chapter 4 Mysterious Woman: Li Lian

"Lian, thanks to you, our corporation's sales have increased. Look, it's doubled from the previous quarter!"

A man in a dark blue suit walked up to a woman who was enjoying the afternoon view from her window. He took the woman, whose name was Lian, by the shoulders and invited her to sit on a chair. The man wanted to share the happiness he had gained with the help of the woman in front of him. Everything he got was not far from the contribution of the woman whose full name was Li Lian.

"I've already seen it. How was it? What will you give me in return?"

The woman turned her chair around and faced the man. The man smiled as he brought his lips to Li Lian's ear and whispered, "Whatever you want, I'll grant it."

Li Lian smiled at him. The woman raised her eyebrows and pushed the man's body. Yes, the man named Gu Ziyu was her boss. Li Lian was a designer at Gu Corporation.

"In that case, I'd like to have a fancy dinner. How about it? You'll give it to me?"

Gu Ziyu didn't seem to mind his designer's wishes, because ever since Li Lian entered his corporation, the sales rate had increased. So, it wasn't unusual for Gu Ziyu to treat Li Lian a little differently from all her employees

"Just dinner, why would I mind? I'll go back to my office and pick you up when it's time to work. I'll take you straight to a place you won't forget forever. A sumptuous dinner is all you'll get."

She smiled and nodded at this. To her, a fancy dinner was nothing special. It's just, in honor of her employer's offer, she was forced to say. Really, he just wants to get home from work and get some rest. There's a lot of things he's been doing lately.

"Wait a few more hours and you can get some rest, Li Lian," she said to herself.

Gu Ziyu brought Li Lian to a fancy restaurant. To be able to eat there, one had to stand in line by ordering a table some time before. However, since Gu Ziyu was a VIP member, the man had only to inform the restaurant and was immediately prepared to set up a special table.

A long table with fancy decor succeeded in making Li Lian satisfied. The woman nodded with a slight smile on her lips.

"You can always please someone," Li Lian retorted, and after that, the servants started coming at them with some ordered food.

"Eat up, Honey! I know you're hungry, "Gu Ziyu said no more small talk. She doesn't want her fiance to starve from too many formalities.

Hang on! Fiance? Yep. Besides Gu Ziyu's designer, Li Lian also has the status of the man's fiancee.

Li Lian picked up the small bag that she placed behind her body. The woman got off the chair and walked to the main door of the restaurant, holding Gu Ziyu's hand. The two stood there waiting for the valet parking attendant to come get the car.

The night wind was quite strong. While waiting for the valet parking attendant to arrive, Gu Ziyu took off his coat and put it on Li Lian's body. Li Lian was a little surprised. She raised her eyebrows. However, Gu Ziyu went ahead anyway. She didn't want her lover to get cold.

"Thank you," Li Lian said, feeling her body warm up a little.

"Come on, get in!"

As soon as the valet parking attendant arrived, Gu Ziyu pulled Li Lian's arm and asked the woman to get into the car first. After closing Li Lian's door, Gu Ziyu went in there with the other door. The two only left after they put on their seat belts.

"Thank you for driving me."

Gu Ziyu held his forehead again and again hearing the word "thank you" come out of Li Lian's mouth. The man felt that the distance between the two of them would become even greater if there were too many formalities like this. How could there be so many such formalities in a relationship?

"Can you stop saying thank you? I'm supposed to take you home."

Li Lian only smiled in a small way. If it had become a habit, what could she do?

"That has become my habit. Anyway, come back soon! Come home safely!"

"Bring your head closer!"

"What for? "Li Lian asked in confusion about Gu Ziyu's sudden request.

"Come closer!"Gu Ziyu replied and Li Lian finally complied. The woman leaned over and leaned her head against Gu Ziyu's car window.

"Night kiss," Gu Ziyu whispered after kissing Li Lian's forehead for a while.

Li Lian shook her head. She waved her hand in surrender to her fiancé's behavior.

"I'm not surprised since you always play these little tricks."

Gu Ziyu chuckled at that the man waved his hand and quickly left from there.

"Are you home yet, Lian?"

A middle-aged woman came to greet Li Lian. Li Lian who heard her immediately walked towards the woman. She hugged the woman she always called "Mom".

"Mom, did you have dinner?" Li Lian asked casually.

"Mom already ate. How about you?" Li Lian's mother, Li Xuyu, replied.

"Me too. Then, I'll go to my room."

"Go! I'll bring some fruit to your room."

"Thank you, Mom."

Li Lian kissed her mother's forehead and went to her room. The woman immediately went to the bathroom and cleaned her body. After leaving the bathroom, Li Lian was immediately served a plate of cut fruit on her work table. Li Lian ate the fruit while getting fresh air on the balcony of her room.

"Lian, what are you planning to do after the contract at Gu Corporation ends? Are you going to renew the contract or do you want to move to another Corporation?"

A woman's voice sounded from Li Lian's cell phone placed on her bed. Li Lian received a call from her friend. Li Lian answered the phone call and listened to it from the balcony of her room.

"I don't know yet, Yuan Yuan. But I'm sure, if I don't continue my contract, Gu Ziyu will definitely not let me go." Li Lian sighed heavily.
