"I'm sorry, Mr. Lawson has been very busy recently and won't have time to go to the courthouse. We've already applied for a special service. You just need to sign this form and give me your ID card," Ned replied politely.

The moment he saw Edith, he was taken to her delicate, simple and clean face. Moreover, her eyes were exceptionally bright and beautiful.

"This kind of girl would definitely appeal to Carlos!" he thought.

Edith held her breath when she heard his response. For the past two days, she had often seen Simon on the news. He was either dating a model or flirting

with an actress, otherwise, staying overnight in a hotel!

The registration was done very quickly and her documents were returned, but she did not see the marriage license. All she saw was that her status had been changed to "married" on her paper.

Ned saw through her doubts. "We need to show the marriage license to Mr. Lawson's mom, Rubby, so I don't have it now. If there's nothing else, I'll take my leave. Someone will be here to take care of your daily needs."

"Then... when will Mr. Lawson be back?" Edith asked nervously.

"He won't come for the time being. If he does, I'll send someone to inform you in advance," Ned answered kindly.

Edith looked around. The villa was very big, with a large greenhouse and an indoor swimming pool. It was extremely luxurious.

She came to her master bedroom which felt cold and desolate.

Suddenly, Johann's face appeared in her thoughts.

"Edith, when we get married, we'll move out and enjoy our lives together as a couple. I'll let you decorate the room as you like, okay?" he said.

"Edith, let's buy a house! We can get married after you graduate."

"Yes, there must be a big wardrobe in the room to accommodate the clothes that you design for you and me!"

These sweet promises from her lover circled in her mind.

She opened the closet door in a daze. All the clothes inside were hers.

Her tears fell uncontrollably. She bawled.

Not too long ago, she was still Johann's fiancee and had been accepted by his parents. She was just waiting to graduate and get married.

Her classmates had all laughed at her for jumping straight into marriage as soon as she graduated. They chided her for being too devoted.

"I can be with my loved one forever, then what's the problem?" she thought then.

When she returned excitedly after graduation, her fiance ran off with her cousin to help her escape from marriage.

"What right does he have? In what capacity is he doing this?

"Is it really because she is weak and needed someone to take care of her?

"There are so many men, but why is Johann chosen?
