Chapter 3 The CEO

Chapter 3

This guy in front of me was a nerd before and we accidentally bumped into each other at the lobby. He wore thick glasses, he had messy and long hair, he wore weird clothes and had a little pimples on his face. That's the first encounter that I had with him and I didn't bother much about it.

But now that we met again with his new version of his self, I can say that he's not a teenage boy anymore. He now has a not so masculine features but just enough for his age, poreless face and clean cut of hair. And now what? He's asking to court me?

"I think you're just mistaken, Tony. Look, what you feel right now is just an infatuation. Yeah, right. What you feel right now is just awe. You don't have to court me, Tony." I said calmly so as not to hurt him too much. I can sense that he's younger than me so I'm trying my best not to hurt him bad.

"N-no...y-you're wrong. I like you, Sepphie. I really really like you."

"Tony, how old are you?"

"T-twenty. But it doesn't matter! I like you and I want to court you!"

I bit my lower lip to control myself. I put the flower on the table before facing him again.

"Twenty? You're still a kid, Tony. I won't give you my permission. I don't hit a kid." I said which surprised him.

"I'm quite busy today. I gotta go." I said before I left him at the cafe.

It's juicy! We've only met twice, he wants to date me right away? What is happening to the youth today? Not that I'm picky, but I really don't like people younger than me. The one who is a few years ahead of me is okay, but the one who is younger than me? I do not want. I don't want to hurt and fool people like them.

When night came, I prepared myself to leave the hotel. I also wore simple clothes - black pants and a white t-shirt. I just wore a high ponytail and curled the ends of my hair a little.

I quickly got into the car and drove to a famous fast food chain. Upon entering, I quickly saw Vincent, one of my "boyfriends".

I approached him with a smile while he frowned when he saw me.

"Are you that busy with your work? We haven't seen each other for a few days. I missed you so much, you know." he said with a snort like a child.

My smile widened when I saw his face. He's kinda cute though, he looks like a chick.

"You know a lot of people come and book. I can barely eat because they are the first people we take care of." I will report to Vincent.

I couldn't avoid it when he suddenly squeezed my cheek.

That's a pain!

"You're so cute! Let's just eat."

Vincent is a simple guy. He is rich but he doesn't like to spend. He would prefer us to eat at simple eateries such as fast food chains rather than five-star restaurants.

I just ate fried chicken while he had a burger steak.

"By the way, what have you been doing these past few days?" I asked curiously.

He stopped eating and looked up.

"I'm working. I'm also quite busy at our company. Brother and I take care of a lot." he said referring to his Brother who is the CEO of one of their companies.

I immediately raised my eyebrows as I couldn't miss his grin.

"Really? Why did you smirk then?"

He recovered quickly and looked at me innocently.

"Did I? Tss. You're probably just blind." he said while taking a bite of the burger.

My eyes went to my phone in the table when it beeped. I smirked when I saw a message from my private investigator, Anna. Anya's twin. They're fraternal twins and my best friends. I met them during college days because we had the same course, business administration. But then Anna was totally different compared to Anya. Anna didn't want to pursue business so she chose to be an investigator and a spy for me. She talked less and didn't like to socialize while Anya was the opposite that's why Anya's with me right now. They both knew my story and I trusted them.

Sep, I already emailed the pictures. This one is weird because it turns out to be flirting secretly. And by the way, I heard that it was reconciled with the only child of the Marine Corp. You better teach him a lesson to learn.

I opened my email after I read her message. Various photos of him with different women immediately came to me and Anna was right, the place they go to is a bit hidden.

I chose a photo when I met him. What a small world! An Audrey Valt is also a flirt. And they actually even kiss in the car that is not tinted!

I pushed my cellphone towards him and he almost gasped when he saw what was on the screen.

"Busy with what again? With your business or with your woman?"

"Ah...t-this was a mistake! It was just a-accident! He was the first to kiss!"

"Really?" I responded coldly while showing him another photo.

"How about the other pictures? Was that just an accident too?" I said while getting back on my cellphone.

He looked at me angrily and I imagined that his nose was smoking.

"Wait. Were you stalking me?!" he shouted causing other people to turn to us.

I crossed my arms and maintained my poker face.

"Are you cheating on me?" I asked him again.

When he didn't say a word, I stood up and put the bag on.

"No need to admit. There's evidence already. And don't assume that I am jealous or mad because you cheated on me. I didn't feel anything. In fact, I'm glad that you did it first because I'm tired pretend I like you even though I don't really feel anything." I said and gave him a silly smile before turning away.

But I was only two steps away from remembering. I immediately faced him and smiled sweetly.

"Before I forgot, did you know that Audrey Valt has a boyfriend? Oh, be careful with her. You might think she's only creeping you but the truth is, she's creeping many others." I said after I smiled evilly then I went outside at that fast food chain and went back home.

The next day, I left the mansion early because I was going to visit one of the companies left by Sir Alxandres, FoodaBest Inc.

This is a business about foods. His company produces different types of food that are purely nutritious and affordable. The company often exports products because it is very popular in other countries. There are also several franchises that have been established in other countries and there are also here in the Philippines.

FoodaBest Inc. invents many more products. because the employees here are smart and good. The company has been around for over twenty years. It has been a long time because of the good management of Sir Alxandres. But today, it's still the same. FoodaBest Inc. is still strong in the masses. but I'm not in charge here. Before Sir Alxandres died, he told me that he will bequeath FoodaBest Inc. to his distant nephew but he will still give me shares in the company so I still get something from it.

Because Sir Alxandres is an only child and maybe the distant nephew he is referring to is close to them so he left him an inheritance.

And because I don't go to FoodaBest Inc. very often, I don't know who runs it. It's been a long time since I last went to the company and that was when Sir Alxandres was still alive and I was still young. So I don't know if the company still looks the same since I last came here or maybe something has changed.

I didn't even bother to get to know Sir Alxandres' nephew because the company he left was in good shape and his nephew was doing well.

I am now wearing a cream color dress that is only knee length but almost fits my body. I also paired it with cream colored sandals that were just the right height while I let my wavy hair down. I didn't even bother putting on make up because I wasn't going to last long either. I just really want to visit Sir Alxandres' company because I haven't been here in a long time.

I'm now here outside the company and I'm now looking at a very tall building and it's all shining like a star because of the sun's rays.

Sir Alxandres suddenly came to my mind so I smiled. Almost nothing has changed outside the company. On each side of it there are still plants planted. In the adjacent buildings there are still trees there. What if I go in? Maybe a lot has changed inside.

"Excuse me, ma'am. What do they mean?" asked the guard at the entrance of the building.

"Can I get inside? I just want to know the progress of the financial status of this company."

"Do you have an appointment?"

"N-none. But I am a shareholder here."

He stared at me for a moment before saying something on his walkie talkie. I couldn't hear what he was saying because he moved away from me.

"What are their names?"

"Sephie Zamante."

I used my real name so no one would know that I was adopted by Sir Alxandres. The same with my "boyfriends". Mostly, they only know me by name but when they ask my last name, I say Zamante so they don't know Sepphie Alxandres.

"Okay, ma'am. Come in."

I just smiled at the guard and went inside. I looked around this vast floor and couldn't help but be amazed because the interior hadn't been changed much. There are others that are no longer there, some have been added but only a small percentage has been changed.

The employees also seem to be busy today. Their postures are beautiful even when they are just walking. There are others who have their own worlds, there are people talking, facing their laptops and others are hurrying to walk, maybe because they are late.

I went straight to the front desk and a smiling woman immediately greeted me.

"Excuse me. I'm looking for Mr. Fernan Dellon. Is he here?" I asked the person in front of me, referring to the former secretary of Sir Alxandres.

He glanced at his computer before nodding.

"Yes. Who are they?"

"Please say that Sepphie Zamante is looking for him."

He quickly followed what I said and talked to someone on the phone.

"This way, ma'am." he said after calling. He pointed the way to the office of Mr. Dellon and I followed.

I don't know if they are just this hospitable because until we got on the elevator, I was still with him. He can just teach, right? But maybe, maybe he was ordered by Mr. Dellon to accompany me until I reach his office.

When I got to the tenth floor, the woman told me that the office of Mr. Delon. He said he is in charge of the employees on this floor so I can easily find him.

I slowly walked down the hallway and looked around. The hallway is in the middle while the employees' desks are on either side. There is a transparent room on the left that is sure to be their conference room because it has a long table surrounded by chairs.

I noticed that others were looking at me but I just ignored it. I just walked straight until I saw the office of Mr. Delon. I knocked three times before slowly opening the door.

"Good morning, Mr. Dellon."

He immediately looked up and was surprised to see me.

"Sepphie? Is that you?" he said as we sat in his chair and walked towards me.

"Yes, Mr. Dellon. I am." I smiled at him.

He made me sit on the couch first so we could talk properly.

"How are you, hija? Oh! It's been a long time since I last saw you. You look even better today!"

"Ah, it's okay. Yes, it's been more than a few years since I last came here. It's good and nothing much has changed here in the company. He still looks the same although I've changed a little, but it's only a little ."

"Yes, yes, hija! That's right. It's not completely changed because most people want to not fix everything since this is the only memory they have left of Mr. Alxandres."
