Chapter 2

Everything was perfect before. We live happily, we are always together, we always love each other's company. My parents weren't a perfect married couple. There are times when they fight, shout, don't get along, but that doesn't last long either because I always make a way for them to get along.

Until one day, I didn't know what was happening to my parents. Both of them totally changed. I do almost everything to get them together but not anymore. I didn't know enough about marital discord because I was only eleven years old at the time. Until I heard them shouting, that's when I realized that I can't do anything anymore.

"Stop your womanizing, Alijandro! Don't you think about your son?! Sepphie? What will he think about you?! That his father is a womanizer? Do you want that? Huh?!" I heard my mom's voice echoing inside our house.

"That's why don't you dare say it to your daughter, Luciana, if you don't want our family to fall apart!!"

And that's it. My mother kept it from me but I'm not blind nor deaf. Even if he doesn't say it, you can see the truth the way my father acts every time he goes home. He's always drunk and smells like a woman's perfume. I shut my mouth and acted like I'm blind because I don't want to add the burden on my mother's shoulder. I don't want to see my mother's heart torn apart completely. That's why when she's in pain, she always goes to our hotel and there, crying miserably.

When my father lost his money and drowned in bankruptcy, as an heir of Zamante Hotel, he did not think twice about selling it. He needed the money so much that's why he was desperate to sell his family's treasure. But then after a year or so, Zamante Hotel also went bankrupt so the new owner just abandoned it and didn't even bother to revive it.

So when I heard that the owner was selling the hotel, I didn't hesitate to buy it. My 10 million was worth it. Even though some other parts are a bit worn and rusted, I still bought it because we had a lot of good memories made here, especially because it was Mama's favorite place to go.

That's why I decided to renovate the hotel and change some interior designs of it in a modern style. It's a bit impossible to maintain its old look so I just changed it and extended it even more.

The renovation took a year. I spend a lot of money and time because I always checked if there's an improvement or if there's something that I want to change or add. And at the age of 20, I became the owner and CEO of the hotel and named it as Diamante Hotel, just as Zamante Hotel sounds.

"Good morning, ma'am!" Manong Fred, the hotel's security guard, greeted me cheerfully. I smiled before he opened the door for me to enter the hotel.

The security of the hotel is strict but the other guards are scattered since the other part of the hotel is not only hotel rooms but I also built a condo and apartment. I just expanded the Diamante Hotel too much to accommodate many customers, so the Diamante Hotel is now well-known because it's not just a hotel, but you can even buy a condo and rent an apartment.

While going to my office, all the employees greeted me and I greeted them back. For almost 2 years as their CEO, I was not strict with them. I'm kind to the kind, so I was easy with them and they were the same with me.

"Sepphie!!!!" Anya's voice immediately echoed in the hallway to my office. I just raised an eyebrow at him and went straight into the office. I could feel him following me while smiling foolishly.

"I have a good news for you!!" he said cheerfully as he sat comfortably on the sofa in my office.

I first removed my sandals and changed into slippers before sitting on the swivel chair.

"Hmm...What's that?"

"It's early in the morning, you're cursing? Tsk. Tsk. I wish I had good news for you." he said with a snort.

"I'm not in the mood to joke around, Anya. What is that?" I said seriously while my eyes were focused on the laptop, looking at my schedules.

"I saw Marco earlier. There was a woman with him. Remember that famous model who bought a condo last week? She's with Marco."

My ears suddenly perked up at what I heard.

"Are you sure? Where are they?"

"There in the Garden of Sep."

I immediately stood up and went straight to my walk in closet here in the office. I actually tailored it so that in case of emergency, I have a change of clothes.

I quickly took the clothes I was supposed to wear and fixed my hair into a clean bun. I also retouched my make up and wore black doll shoes.

Anya and I left the office together. He went straight to the front desk which is just in front of my office and that only means one thing, he is ready to work as my secretary.

When I got down to the first floor, I went directly to the Garden of Sep. In the middle is the garden that I really meant to name after me. I love flowers and plants so I made a garden here inside so the Garden of Sep is the center of Diamante Hotel.

As soon as I stepped into the garden, I immediately looked around. Many people are having coffee, eating breakfast, talking, some are foreigners and some are famous models or actors. But the face of a Marco Roño and the model Audrey Valt did not pass me by. The two are dating because they are sweet to each other.

I form a smirk on my lips. What a sweet couple while I'm still his "girlfriend".

I secretly called an employee who was just right and he was carrying a cup of coffee. It's a good thing he wasn't confused because I was now wearing a hotel employee uniform. He also gave it to me and I just told him to get a new one.

I groped first to see if the coffee was still hot and I frowned when it wasn't too hot.

Too bad... it's not hot anymore...

I walked straight towards them. Marco had his back to me so he couldn't see me. When I got a little distance from Marco, I spoke.

"Here's your co-" and I pretended to drop the coffee that I really meant to. It fell on Marco's black pants but splashed on his white polo shirt.

Marco's face showed surprise. He stood up and immediately looked at the dress and was even more surprised to see the stain. The model Audrey approached him and asked him if he was okay. I smirked because of what I did but I quickly replaced it with a surprised expression.

"Come on, sir! I'm sorry but you deserve it!" I said directly so the two looked at me.

I immediately crossed my arms and raised an eyebrow when Marco looked in my direction. He was shocked when he looked at me.

"Your face is thick and you flirted here. Is he your new girlfriend?" I told him without emotion.

"Who the hell are you? Did you do it on purpose?" Audrey snapped and stared at me angrily.

I glanced at him briefly and raised an eyebrow. My eyes immediately returned to Marco who was now speechless.

"So he's your new one. Why didn't you inform me? I wish I had broken up with you before. It's probably not too late, right? We're done."

Before Marco could speak, I approached Audrey and whispered in her ear.

"Who am I? I'm just like you. We are both his toys but I'm different. Why? Because I'm like a barbie and you are a puppet. I may be his toy but I'm the one who's playing with him."

Neither my 'boyfriends' nor my suitors know who I really am. The only thing that they knew about me was that, I am Sepphie Alxandres, an employee at the Diamante Hotel. Even the public, they're all hungry to know the face of the CEO of Diamante Hotel but they didn't get any clues about me. All of my information is confidential and I always have my ways if ever I'll see my name on the internet.

When there is a party or gathering and the Diamante Hotel is invited, I refuse the others and when it is quite important, I send Anya because she is my secretary. Sometimes when I was taking care of someone else, I assigned her as an acting CEO of the hotel. He also likes it because he says he meets a lot of beautiful men.

The only people who know me as a CEO of the hotel are my employees, especially in my other business, only employees know me because I'm not in the same business or company every day. Someone assigns me as an acting CEO or manager in my businesses so that my work can be reduced a bit.

And for almost how many years of managing the business left by Sir Alxandres and the businesses I built, so far, only a small number of people have known and seen me. I also liked that because I didn't want trouble. It's hard, maybe when many people get to know me, they might even dig up my past and I don't want that to happen. So as far as possible, I want to be a mysterious type even in name only because I'm not ready for what will happen when they find out that a Sepphie Alxandres was sold by her father for millions to a rich old man Vulcan Alexander.

"Come back here, b*tch!"

I suddenly stopped walking when I heard Audrey's voice. I slowly roamed my eyes at the entire place and let out a deep sigh when I noticed that we already had their attention. Then I confidently turned around and I saw her walking towards me while Marco was trying his best to stop her.

"You!!" he shouted pointing at me.

"Apologise to me and to Marco! You were such a rude employee! I will call for your manager and tell him or her to fire you!!" he shouted angrily at me even though he was still a little far from me.

I immediately stopped myself from laughing. But maybe I'm still holding you back so he yelled again.

"Did you just laugh?!" he asked irritably.

The guards immediately approached them and asked Audrey to calm down. Marco, on the other hand, looked around, probably embarrassed for Audrey. There are also people taking video but because of the strict security, they are not safe.

"What's happening here?" Anya's authoritative voice immediately echoed. When our eyes met, he nodded at me, signaling that he would take care of the two.

I secretly smiled and quickly turned my back on the two. While walking away, I still heard Audrey complaining while Anya comforted her. I quickly went to the office and upon entering I immediately stretched out on the sofa.

What a day! Many people saw us earlier. I wonder what the people thought about me? Are they thinking that I am the liar? The ambitious woman? The woman who ruined someone else's relationship?

I just washed my face because of the thought. I need to be careful from now on. I shouldn't have done that here in my hotel. What will my employees think? But actually, this is no different from them because they have witnessed a lot about what I do between my other boyfriend's and suitors. They already know me and they should keep it to themselves.

I was about to get up to get dressed when my office phone rang. I reached for it and answered.

"Ma'am, someone is looking for you in the lobby. It's a man, by the way. He's still carrying a bouquet of flowers." it giggled softly.

I just told him to tell the man to wait for me in the hotel cafeteria and I will come down.

When I arrived at the café, it was not very crowded. It doesn't matter because there are two cafeterias that I built here on the first floor. The first one is between the condo and the apartment while the other one is on the side of the hotel which is not frequented because it is quite far away and I chose that so no one would see too much.

I'm still wearing the Diamante Hotel uniform. Upon entering the cafe, someone suddenly waved while looking at me. I quickly headed in his direction and he immediately stood up when I got close.

"Hi, Sepphie! Ahm... flowers for you by the way." he said shyly with his hand on his head.

My eyes narrowed as I could not remember or recognize the person in front of me.

"Who are you again?" I asked when I got the flower.

"Ah! I'm Tony. The nerd boy who bumped into you in the lobby before, remember?"

Nerd boy...nerd boy...oh! Is that him?

"You? Really? Wow!! You completely changed!" I said to him in amazement.

I immediately noticed the reddening of his cheeks so he looked away.

"Y-yep. I was just 18 at that time and still immature. Sorry if I was rude at that time."

"You don't have to apologize. That was just an accident. Anyways, why are you here? Why do you want to meet me?"

He quickly looked at me with a sigh.

"I'm not going to hang around anymore. The first time we met, I already had a crush on you. It's just bad timing because I didn't see you again because we left the next day for the States. But I was so eager to meet you again. I'm ashamed I'm because of the way you saw me. So I decided to start working out and build some muscles. I also used some facial wash to remove my pimples and pores. That's why I'm here now. I'm confident to face you again."

I don't know why I was nervous after he spoke. The way he talked and told me his story how I inspired him..is he going to...

"Sepphie, can I court you?"

My lips parted knowing that my suspicion was right.
