Chapter 5 Alice's POV

My whole body was sore. To support my head, I raised my right hand. As I opened my eyes, it was a confirmation that I was still alive. How could this miracle happen? I jumped off the cliff that was so high, how could someone like me survive?

This room was new to my eyes. This was not my room, not even my mother's room. This place was not even familiar to me.

It was a huge, beautiful room. It was like a room for rich people or those who came from a royal family. There were some flowers and paintings, and the bed was too stunning to be laid by a useless human.

"Where was I?" I asked myself.

When I got up, I remembered what happened before. What Adam told me, and what I have heard, make my heart ache. The useless human was still alive.

Maybe some other good people helped me. I was grateful that there was still good in every person, but they didn't need to save a weak human like me. No one needed me, so it was not a good idea to be alive. But the one thing I wanted to know was... where was I?

I stopped when the door opened. One woman came inside while she held a tray and the other greeted me.

"Your Highness!" When they exclaimed that, the other people came inside the huge room. I gave them a blank look. I didn't know any of them. Are they the ones who helped me?

"Are you okay?" One girl with long hair asked me those questions.

I didn't give a response. I didn't know how to react. Was this kind of a prank? Did my friend do this to me? But where was Alice? Or even my mom, or Henry? They are not familiar to me. Not even the girl in front of me.

"What were you feeling right now, princess?" the girl asked me again. She had a low voice, but it was cold and looked like beautiful music to my ears. Her eyes have two colors, on the right side, it is blue, and emerald green on the other side. She was pretty and looked like a nice person. Maybe she was the one who healed my wounds.

"Uhmm... may I know who you guys are? Was my friend Alice, playing a prank on me again? May I talk to her, please?"

Maybe she did this to make me feel that there were some people who loved me. I always told her not to do something that made me feel the way I wanted to. But looked at it now, she did it again, with people I didn't even know.

"We didn't know who Alice was. You are here in your palace."

"Am I dead? Was it what my mother told me, that every dead person came? Am I in heaven?" I covered my mouth.

I heard them laugh when I said those words.

"No, darling. This is your palace. You were the lost princess." The lady explained to me everything. But it was not right to process some things that I didn't understand. How could a human like me, be a long-lost princess? Was it even possible?

"The Lycan King will be here sooner. You just need to rest. We brought you food. Tell us if you want anything."

"Wait.. what you said was true?" disbelief was visible in my voice. Even though the lady told it to me over and over, I didn't get it. How could this happen? I was just a useless, pathetic, unloved, and weak human. How could it be possible that when I opened my eyes, I became a princess? A long-lost princess? Was it a dream?

"Yes, princess. What we said was true. Just tell us if you want anything." All of them bowed at me.

My lips parted as I was amazed. How was it possible? I was nobody. Just like what Adam always told me. So, how could nobody become a long-lost princess at this instant?

They left the room, and let me rest for a while. I got back into bed and looked at the ceiling. I tried to slap my face, just to make sure that it was not a dream. I still did not believe what they said. I was not a princess.

I closed my eyes and rested my palm on my face. "Wake up, Alice. All of those were just dreams. Wake up." I told those words to myself. But no... it was not a dream. I was in my reality.

"Princess? How could it be possible? I am just a human. My family just adopted me, but how was it possible that the Lycan King lost her child? And claimed that... it was me?"

I didn't want to feel this. But I was on my way to accepted it and believed what they said.

I got up again and talked to myself. "A weak human was a long-lost daughter of the Lycan King."
