Chapter 2 Flashback

In her office, Valerie was still think about the kiss with Axton earlier."Valerie... Valerie!... Why did I allow that? Why did I even kiss him back? Fuck, " Her phone beeped and she checked it to see a text message notification. She tapped on it and read the content out loud.~~~ Axton has been kidnapped by Mateo. Come to this address to save him...~~~She didn't even bother to continue reading. Without thinking, she dashed out of her office.

She stopped at Axton's office to check if he was truly not there."It's true, " She muttered to herself.She went outside looking for a cab when a van stopped in front of her and two masked men came out and dragged her in."Help! Help!" She struggled.The van sped off and before she knew it, she was sedated and then blacked out. °°•Presently•°°Axton grabbed Mateo by his collar and showered his face with punches. Valerie was still on the floor trying to stand. Amidst all the punches, he kept smiling; his face was very bloody. Axton was about to give him another punch when he heard Valerie's loud shriek and he turned to look at her. Behold, the masked woman had a gun to her head."Hi love... It's been a while. Missed me? " The masked woman said as she smirked.Axton's eyes widened and he instantly started sweating as he staggered backwards. He could recognize that voice anytime and anywhere. The voice of his past."Do you recognize me already or you still need me to take care off my mask? " She continued." No! No! This can't be the case," Axton yelled with red in rage eyes.She removed her mask and her long black hair sprang out revealing no one else other than Vanessa. Vanessa Altamira."Happy to see me darling?" Vanessa laughed.He still had the shocked look on till he switched. No one even got a glimpse of the switching second. Axton smirked and marched towards her strangling her on the neck which was an unexpected action making the gun in her hand to fall off."Axton you're hurting me baby, " She said seductively and he glared at her."Don't fucking call my name. You lost the right to four years ago woman, " He resounded every word into her ears." Enough with this drama guys. I'm the game master remember? I call the shots. So, there are ticking bombs situated in every corner of this building and here's the control with me. I press the button and it goes off... Boom! " Mateo laughed maniacally." Damnit, " Axton cursed. He launched at Mateo with dangerous intent to collect the control but Mateo threw it to Vanessa. Axton scoffed unbelievably."Are you two going to play this really childish game? " Vanessa was about to go out of the room with the control when she felt something at the back of her head. She turned slowly and saw Valerie pointing a gun at her with shaky hands."You... You can't even hold the gun properly. Your hands are literally about to fall off your wrists, " Vanessa snorted.Using the opportunity that everyone was distracted, Axton swiftly shot Mateo with his gun and he went down."Shoot the damn tramp Valerie, " Axton urged."Pull the damn trigger, " Axton yelled and Valerie shot Vanessa though the bullet met her right arm."Fuck, " Vanessa hissed in pain.Blur images began appearing in Valerie's head and she held her head as if she was in pains and balls of tears flowed from her eyes before she fell unconscious. Axton knelt beside her and tapped her cheek worriedly."Valerie... Please wake up my love"""What's wrong?"He took the control on the floor carried Valerie in his arms, outside the building. He saw Alonso outside."Where are the police?""They're on their way boss"Alonso was about to collect unconscious Valerie from Axton when he shot him a glare. Alonso just withdrew his hands immediately. Axton dropped her in the car making sure that they were at a safe distance, before pressing the button on the control and the warehouse blew up. He swiped his hair to the back before releasing an evil smirk. Just then, they heard the police siren. He entered the back seat with Valerie in his arms and Alonso drove off.°°|| Axton's Mansion||°°~Door bell rings Nanny Nancy goes to open door and sees Scarlett standing in front of her with a broad smile. Scarlett as usual, is looking all glammed up wearing a white crop top, a pair of black cargo pants, black and white trainers, a black beanie and a black totê bag."Nanny," Scarlett screamed cheerfully and hugged her."Oh crazy girl, do you want to throw me off balance?" Nancy Nancy retorted with all smiles as she hugged her back."Oops! Sorry Nanny... This is just the first time in two weeks I'm seeing your beautiful face so sorry nanny," She scratched the back of her head funnily." Won't you come inside?" Nanny Nancy dragged her into the living room and shut the main door."I'm so tired nanny...The photo shoots have been so stressful. They're worth it though," Scarlett said as she slumped on a sofa." Let me get you your favourite drink," Nanny Nancy said and left for the kitchen.In no time, nanny Nancy returned with a tray containing a bottle of strawberry juice, a glass cup and some sandwiches."Oh strawberry juice... I love you nanny"Scarlett wasted no time in devouring the tray's content. When she was satisfied, she looked up and saw Nanny Nancy staring at her with an amused but still familiar look. She just laughed because she knew what her nanny was thinking then, a thought crossed her mind."Nanny I've been here for a while now and I haven't seen Chloe. Isn't she home? We were supposed to go see a movie today"" Yeah she should have returned from school by now. I was worried so I called Axton and...," Her response was caught short by the sound of a car driving into the mansion.Scarlett and Nanny Nancy stared at each other with a confused look."Axton doesn't return home this early right nanny?"Before Nanny Nancy could respond, Skylar barged into the living room with a sleeping and disheveled looking Chloe in his arms."My God Chloe," Scarlett and Nanny ran towards him. Nanny carried Chloe from Skylar and took her to her bedroom leaving Scarlett and Skylar behind.Skylar went and sat on one of the sofas tiredly while Scarlett sat beside him."I'm so exhausted...The twists and turnouts of today's events is damn!"" What really happened Sky? What happened to Chloe? Even you...," She trailed off." You have few scratches on you. Just tell me," She further inquired worriedly as she examined his face and arms worriedly."I'm fine Scar baby," Skylar chuckled and winked at her.Scarlett couldn't help but blush. Even his smallest actions give her butterflies. She tried as much as possible to hide the blush since something serious was at hand."Well after I finished with my morning shoots, I decided to pay Axton a visit at the company," He continued explaining everything that happened from the call Axton had, raiding where Chloe was kept and Valerie's shocking involvement."What! How did Valerie get there? It doesn't make any sense. Are you guys even sure she's not the kidnapper or one of them? That bitch," Scarlett scoffed and spat bitterly." Stop it Scar! Valerie's not that way. From the look of things, she was also kidnapped. She is pure and good and besides Chloe's kidnapper is Mateo," Skylar rebuked her statement." So you're taking her side now? You know her that much? She's a golddigger and is only after Axton's money just like Vanessa was. What? You like her also? You are in love with Valerie?"Skylar just couldn't believe his eyes and ears."Scarlett!" Skylar growled and she flinched.He continues: " can you even listen to yourself? If this is you being jealous, insecure and paranoid then quit it... It's ridiculous"
