Chapter 5 Secret Baby

Max walked down the hallway on the ground floor of his company with a steady and authoritative stride, his face flat and expressionless, which made many of the employees there reluctant to greet the man.

Most of them were afraid of Max's reaction when they said hello, afraid that their position would be threatened even if they just said hello.

The rumors circulating in Max's company that the man has never had a girlfriend and has never been close to a single woman is the reason why the female-dominated employees there don't dare to greet Max. In addition, they have learned from previous incidents that happened when one of the new employees tried to greet and approach Max.

"What is it, sir?"

Max's footsteps stopped in front of the receptionist, and immediately one of the women who had become the receptionist asked, a little nervous but still trying to be professional.

The receptionist looked the same as the receptionist who had helped Cylin meet Max the other day, although the end of Cylin's trip home only added to the woman's burden of mind and the sadness in her heart.

"Were you the one who brought the strange woman who claimed to be my high school friend to my room yesterday?" Max asked, keeping his expression flat and cold.

The receptionist nodded hesitantly. "Yes sir, what is it?"

"I ask you once again not to allow any woman to see me except my family and the staff here! Even if they claim to be my friend or someone close to me!" Max's strictness made the receptionist he was talking to tremble visibly, his hidden hand shaking slightly to give his friend who noticed it a pitying look.

"Yes, sir."

After that, the receptionist could breathe a sigh of relief as Max left without answering her again.

Now that Cylin had arrived at the station, her intention was to take the vehicle out of the city. And now Cylin waited for his departure, which was only an hour away.

Since Cylin didn't have time to go to one of the mini-markets to look for bread and drinks, she decided to have a look around the station while waiting for her departure schedule.

Cylin bought bread for her breakfast at the station, at a minimarket that offers a lot of fast food and other food needs. But Cylin prefers to buy a sandwich and mineral water there, with the intention to save money as long as he hasn't found a job yet.

After buying both, Cylin sits down in front of the minimarket where there are seats available, it was better for her to stay there first than to go straight back to the station and wait there for a long time.

"Excuse me."

Just as Cylin chewed a bite of the sandwich into his mouth, his concentration was immediately broken when a man appeared standing next to him.

"Yes?" Cylin replied, half-questioning, after he had stopped chewing in his mouth.

"May I sit here?" the stranger asked, causing Cylin to reflexively nod and shift her sitting position, but the woman's forehead was still furrowed.

"Oh, of course."

Although there are other seats," Cylin thought, secretly looking around, he saw that there was a seat for two more people in front of the grocery store, and it was still empty.

"My name is Giordano B." Without expecting the man next to her to suddenly introduce himself to her, Cylin couldn't help but look back at the man.

My feelings are not asked,' Cylin thought to herself as she stared at the man's hand.

Not wanting to be seen as arrogant, Cylin was forced to return the man's handshake with an awkward smile. "Yes," he replied briefly.

"What's your name?" It seemed that the man next to Cylin hadn't given up on asking her out.

"Cylin," Cylin replied again briefly, now uncomfortable with the presence of this stranger.

"Just Cylin?" The man named Gior asked again, causing Cylin to curse inwardly.

"Hm yes," Cylin replied indifferently. Even though she cursed inwardly, she still maintained her image as a woman in front of the strange man beside her.

"Oh okay."

After that there was silence, no more conversation between them, Cylin, who was busy continuing to eat her pa sandwich, while the man next to her seemed to be silent, occasionally stealing glances at the woman.

Until a few minutes later, no one started talking again, Cylin felt that the atmosphere between them was getting awkward, she looked at her watch and apparently she had spent twenty minutes eating.

The woman got up from her chair and walked away without even looking at the man named Gior. But Cylin did not forget politeness. "I'll go first," she said briefly before leaving the man alone.

"Yes, see you later, Cylin," Gior replied, only to be met with a smile from Cylin, who briefly turned his head to the man.

Without Cylin noticing, Gior stared at his departure with a meaningful look and continued to stare at Cylin's back, which was getting farther and farther away until it disappeared from his sight.

"He seems to have forgotten, hopefully we can meet again, Cylin," Gior muttered while smiling meaningfully.

Back to Cylin, who was still waiting for his departure, which was about half an hour away.

"Huffh! There should have been no need for that man, I could have just been there," Cylin muttered quietly, she was a bit annoyed about her encounter with the man at that place.

The woman glanced around at the people passing by the station until her eyes stopped on one of the people passing by.

"Brother Farel!" she muttered before reflexively looking down and pretending to play with her cell phone. Cylin also tugged at her long, flowing hair to cover part of her face.

Unmistakably, Farel was one of Cylin's older siblings, her eldest, and coincidentally or not, the woman was about to meet her own brother as she was about to leave her hometown.

Cylin's heart was beating fast, afraid that her brother would see her at this station, not that she was anything but afraid and embarrassed to appear in front of one of her family, Cylin was already embarrassed enough to admit her pregnancy to her family.

I hope he doesn't see me, God,' Cylin held his breath as he saw the shoes Farel was wearing start to pass him and stopped, luckily it was only for a moment before the man passed Cylin without a word.

Suddenly, Cylin was able to breathe a sigh of relief, feeling that he was safe now. To be honest, Cylin was not yet ready to meet the people closest to him, including his own family, since he had only been kicked out of the house yesterday.

"Huffh! Safe."
