Chapter 5 I will marry Jerry

Andre is the last person Tovia expects to see. He is still wearing the previous oversized shirt and his funny glasses from that morning.

"V...V," Andre stammers as he runs towards Tovia, calling her V.

"Y...ou don't tell me you are pregnant for me," Andre stammers. Tovia looks dumbstruck and confused at the same time.

"What is he saying?" Tovia thinks. Mr. Page also seems really astounded and looks at Andre disgustedly.

"Mr. Page," Andre quickly turns to Mr. Page.

"I am sorry, I will take the responsibility," Andre says to Mr. Page, stammering seriously.

Mr. Page is already boiling with so much anger inside of him, but because of the reporters, he does not want to act rashly. Tovia just looks on like a fool as she does not understand what Andre is saying or doing.

"Mr. Page, is your only daughter and the heiress to the Page company pregnant?" The reporters instantly take it from there.

"Is the young man here the father of the child?"

"Mr. Page, are you here to personally bring your daughter to the hospital to register?" The reporters keep asking so many questions at once. Mr. Page rummages his hair angrily; he really wants to shout at all the reporters, but he knows that he cannot tarnish his image which he has protected all these years.

He quickly changes his expression as the reporters gather round him to hear what he has to say about his daughter being pregnant. Mr. Page forces a smile.

"Friends from the media," he says and pauses, trying to find the right thing to say, not to tarnish his reputation.

"I am sorry that I am announcing it here," he smiles broadly and slowly takes Tovia's hands into his. Tovia looks stunned at her father's quick change in behavior; she has seen her father pretending in public, but it seems today's act is just top-notch. She tries to smile too, but...

"My beautiful Via is getting married soon, and we are here for some medical test," Mr. Page says, smiling broadly in front of the camera. The moment the reporters hear that Tovia will be getting married, they all forget about the pregnancy stuff and start asking questions about the wedding.

"When is the wedding? Who is Miss Page getting married to?" The reporters cannot stop asking questions as they push Andre away.

"The date for the wedding will be announced to the media soon," Mr. Page says, smiling and pulls Tovia into the car quickly to get away from the reporters. The reporters cannot follow them even though they want to ask more questions. Andre smirks, looking at Mr. Page taking Tovia as the car drives off.

Entering the house, Mr. Page lands another resounding slap on Tovia's face.

"How dare you?" Mr. Page looks so furious, staring at Tovia, who did not expect such action from her father. She holds her face, which got slapped, sobbing.

"Mr. Page," Mr. Page looks shocked to see Andre in his house.

"You!" Mr. Page points to Andre angrily.

"What are you doing here?" He looks so angry, staring at Andre. Tovia is equally surprised to see Andre again in the Page mansion; she wonders how Andre knows her house.

"Mr. Page," Andre says, stammering.

"I am so sorry for barging into your house. I am really responsible for V's pregnancy. I will take responsibility," Andre says, stammering along. Mr. Page cannot believe his hearing. Looking at Andre's oversized clothes and big glasses with him stammering, Mr. Page does not even know what to say to Andre.

"And who do you think you are?" Mr. Page finally says something after sizing Andre up for some time.

Andre, looking at Mr. Page furiously staring at him, guiltily lowers his head, trying to avoid Mr. Page's angry gaze.

"Tell me!" Mr. Page yells at Andre, looking enraged.

"Dad!" Tovia lets out, knowing that Andre may suffer because of her.

"I will marry Jerry." The place falls silent; both Mr. Page and Andre look at Tovia, astonished at what she said.

"You mean you will marry the Woods?" Mr. Page asks, to be clear. Tovia blinks, nodding her head slowly. Andre cannot understand why Tovia would say that when he has already come into the picture, he just stares at Tovia's face in despair.

Mr. Page closes his eyes for some time to process what Tovia is trying to do. He heaves a long sigh and looks at Tovia, who just stands, staring at the floor.

"What about the pregnancy?" Mr. Page looks curiously at Tovia. She slowly looks up at her father.

"If you let me keep the pregnancy, I will marry Jerry," Tovia tries to make a deal with her father. Though she knows that the pregnancy is fake, but since there is Andre who is claiming to be responsible for the pregnancy, Tovia tries to make a deal with her father. She believes that her father will go after Andre later, to protect him, she decides to make a deal with the fake pregnancy.

Mr. Page narrows his gaze towards Tovia as if he will kill her at any moment.

"If you let me keep this pregnancy, I will marry Jerry as you wanted," it takes all the courage she has to say that to her father.

"Are you okay?" Mr. Page yells and almost lands another slap on Tovia.

"I will kill myself if you don't allow me to keep the pregnancy!" Tovia shouted. Both Mr. Page and Andre stared at Tovia, shocked at her words. Mr. Page slowly calmed down; he knows that if Tovia is not there, his deal with the Woods will be nullified.

"Tovia," Page called calmly.

"I know you want to keep your pregnancy, but the Woods will not agree to that," Mr. Page tried to make his daughter understand him.

"If you indeed want me to marry Jerry, I have to keep the pregnancy," Tovia stood her ground. Though she is afraid her father will say otherwise, she still wants to try her luck. She believes that as long as her father knows she is carrying Andre's baby, he will not do anything to Andre.

"Alright," Mr. Page said softly. Tovia could not believe her father would agree with her just like that. Andre looked at the father-daughter duo, not knowing what to do now. Since Tovia is still claiming he is responsible for her fake pregnancy, Andre did not want to just let go like that.

"V... what about me?" Andre said, stammering while shifting his mouth foolishly.

"Hey, you! Drag him out," Mr. Page commanded his bodyguards.

"V... V... V," Andre called as the bodyguards dragged him out. Tovia looked terrible as Andre was being dragged out of the mansion, but she was a little relieved since both her fake pregnancy and Andre would be saved.
