Adena yawns as she is still sleepy, "Tell me, tell me. I'm all ears."
Ria tucks her pillow behind her back, settling into a more comfortable position.
"I went on a blind date, and guess who my date turned out to be? The CEO of Rees Corporation, one of the biggest companies in the country!"
Adena's voice perks up, suddenly more alert. "What? Are you serious? You're telling me you got paired up with a big-shot CEO on a blind date? That's insane!"
"I know, right? I couldn't believe it either! The old man did not mention it to me. I only found out when we met in person." Ria grinned from ear to ear excitedly. "And let me tell you, Ena, he was drop-dead gorgeous. His looks could rival that of K-pop idols!"
"Are you serious? Wow...He must be very handsome for you to admit that" Adena was in awe, she knew her friend Ria. In Ria's heart, the looks of her idols are unmatched. And for her to admit that her blind date partner could rival them, it can only mean it's the truth.
Adena bursts into laughter on the other end of the line. She decides to use this chance to tease her friend.
"Oh my, Ria! You're smitten, aren't you? CEOs and K-pop idols all wrapped into one package. You're in dangerous territory there."
"No, no, it's not like that! I mean, sure, he was attractive, but it's not the only thing that matters. We had great conversations, laughed a lot, and talked about our shared interests." Ria was speaking in her defense.
Adena chuckles softly, her amusement evident in her voice.
"Alright, alright, I believe you. So, did sparks fly between you two?" She continues with her teasing.
Ria pauses memories of the evening flooding back. Her voice softens, tinged with a touch of wonder.
"There were moments, Ena. Moments when I thought maybe, just maybe, this could be something more. But then I wasn't sure." She replied whispering.
Adena's voice turns gentle, understanding Ria's conflicted emotions.
"Ria, you deserve every happiness in the world. If it's meant to be, it will definitely happen. For now, just go with the flow." These were the only comforting words she could tell Ria at the moment.
"Thank you, Ena. I needed to hear that. You always know how to put things into perspective." Ria smiles, comforted by her best friend's words.
"That's what friends are for, remember? To support and lift each other and no matter what, you'll always have me cheering you on." Adena said with a voice filled with warmth.
"I'm so grateful for you, Adena. You are truly the best friend anyone could ever ask for." Ria clutches her phone tighter, feeling the warmth of their friendship surround her.
"Right back at you, Ria. Now, get some rest. We'll conquer the world together tomorrow. Sweet dreams, my friend." Their sudden words were making them emotional.
As they say their goodbyes, Ria takes a deep breath, feeling a renewed sense of strength and determination.
She knows that no matter what happens, she has the unwavering support of her best friend, Adena, by her side. And with that comforting thought, she drifts off into a peaceful slumber.

The floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the city skyline, casting a dimly lit ambiance. Jay, stood alone in the living room, his face reflecting a mix of disappointment and despair. An empty wine glass sits in his hand, forgotten.
Jay stares out the window, lost in his thoughts. The scene of Ria, whom he had met on a blind date earlier that night, plays on his mind.
He had felt a spark, a connection that was unlike anything he had experienced before.
But now, his heart shattered as he discovered she had a boyfriend.
The distant echo of a passing car breaks the silence as Jay's gaze shifts from the glittering city lights to his reflection in the window. His eyes were downcast losing the initial sparkle they had earlier.
