Chapter 5 HOME

I stayed with my parents for the next few days, while Ulva was having fun with her grandparents. I was busy trying to catch up with Queen Diana.

Diana and I have been friends since we were little. We literally grew up together since our parents were very close. She was also expecting her second baby. We gisted and talked about how hard it was to be the wife a leader.

"I hardly have Troy to myself, if he is not attending this gathering he is doing something else. We barely have time for us" Diana said looking more frustrated than I am.

"I know the feeling, Caleb is just a chief but I barely see him these days. He is always at one meeting or the other and is not cool with me, I mean I am almost due with my pregnancy. This is when I need him the most, but he is always answering to the alpha especially since their son will be celebrating his eighth birthday on the next full moon"

"I nearly forgot about that, we were invited. I wish I can't attend but what will the people say if the alpha of the Ashenmoon pack shows up without his Luna. I which I can be more like your mum, but am not a water werewolf"

"Diana, you are already strong. Giving birth to Edon and raising him is not easy. You are the one taking care of the Alpha of the Ashenmoon pack, that is why you are the queen, the Luna. Don't ever underestimate yourself and your powers"

"Lupita I am so glad you came, you don't know how your words strengthened me, I needed it. And you are also doing great, we both need to give ourselves some break"

"Yes we do, that's why I came. It's been a while since I have the servant answer to me" I said as we both laughed.

"Mum! Mum," I heard Ulva calling for me, I wonder what happened this time around.

"I wonder what is happening there" Diana said, it was like she read my mind.

"Ulva!," I called her and she soon appeared with a teary face.

"Oh my God, what happened sweetie?" Diana asked, opening her hands widely for her. Ulva quickly rushed into her open arms as her aunt hugged her trying to calm her down.

Unlike me Diana is crazy about baby girls but her first baby turned out to be a boy. I know she really wants her second child to be a girl, she really loves Ulva a lot and she spoils her so much.

Just then I saw Edon peeping his head from the door.

"Edon, come give your favourite auntie a big hug" I said imitating Diana's action.

"Hello aunty" he was only seven but he behaved so maturely that I got so scared of giving Ulva the same hand. But I don't really blame his parents, one-day my little nephew will be the next Alpha to rule.

"Hi sweetie, how come you were peeping, you don't want to greet me?"

"No auntie, I just came to see Ulva cry" he said, laughing so loud. Ulva's cry added volume immediately she heard Edon laughing at her.

"Edon stop that this instant, you are supposed to be helping your sister not laughing at her"

"But mum she wouldn't stop crying and is very annoying to deal with. Princesses don't act like she does"

"Edon, that is why you are her senior, you are supposed to protect her. As a prince and a soon to be leader you are supposed to protect her because she is family"

"But if I keep helping her she will never learn how to defend herself. She just sit and let other kids bully her"

"Then teach her how to defend herself and learn how to take charge" all this time I just watched mother and son argue among themselves. They have a good relationship and I love the way Diana teaches him about his duties as the next alpha.

"Okay Diana, you are being too harsh on him"

"No am not, is this how he is going to protect his other siblings"

"Give him some credit, Ulva is five but she still can't reach the dining table"

"Mum!" Ulva called, covering her face.

"Why are you embarrassing her?" Diana asked before she tried calming the already screaming Ulva.

"What? Is this how she is planning to take care of her future siblings too?"

"Come on sweetie let's leave mum all by herself" Diana said and took Ulva out of the room.

"She is such a cry baby" Edon commented and I couldn't help laughing at his boldness.

"I know right? Why don't you pick out a video let's watch"

"I have just the perfect one" he said as he selected a movie and we both actually enjoyed ourselves. At some point I forgot I was gisting and laughing with a seven year old.

I got so bored in the palace and decided to walk around just to visit my favourite places when I was little.

The walking did help me with the abdominal pain I have been having in days. One of my favourite spots was the rock behind the palace.

Caleb and I always sneak out just to meet each other here. At first my parents wanted me to marry an alpha but it doesn't work like that for werewolves.

The moon goddess gave us not just special powers but the ability to identify our mates. I loved Caleb from the beginning before I got to know he was my mate.

Every male werewolf marks their mate on their wedding night. Is more like getting bonded with your mate.

I still remember my wedding night, it was awesome. I really wish the same for my babies.
