Chapter 3 Help

Steve's POV

I was checking the files of my patient when I received a call from my house. "Uncle, when will you come? I am scared." Xavier spoke as soon as I received the call and put it on speaker.

"My strong boy, don't be scared; I will come in an hour. Okay?" After talking with him for a few minutes, I cut the call and started working on my files. After some time, I finished my work and packed my things.

I was driving, but I felt like one car was following me. And that car was following me for a long time. I had increased the speed of my car a little so that the car would stop following me.

Well, it had been like this for a week since I came back from the orphanage that day. Whenever I came back from the hospital, I noticed that someone was following me.

The road was empty, but the traffic lights ahead were about to turn red, so I thought that when the car stopped there, I would ask him why he was following me. And as soon as mine and that car stopped at the red light, four people came out of the car and forcefully started opening the door of my car.

As my car was locked from inside, it couldn't open, but I got scared. I had just turned the key to start the car when one of the men broke the glass of the car. He tightly held my hand and tried to stop me.

"What the hell! Who are you, and what do you want?" I shouted and tried to free my hand from that man's grip. Some pieces of glass had stuck to my hand, and blood had started coming out of that place.

One of the men said, "You come out first, and then we will tell you what we want from you." The man who was holding my hand unlocked the car door and then grabbed my collar, dragged me out, and threw me in the middle of the road.

All four of them were holding knives in their hands when they started kicking and punching me. I was trying to stop them with my hands, but it was no use; they were not stopping. "Why are you hitting me? What do you want?" I asked in the midst of their beating. I thought they were thieves and would ask for money, so I offered myself. "If you want money, I can give it to you."

As soon as they heard what I said, they suddenly stopped. I really felt that they had come only for money, so I immediately took out cash from my wallet and watch and passed it towards them. One of the men took them from me, but another guy pushed me hardly and hovered over me.

I realised that they were going to kill me, so I pushed that guy and started running. I was trying to run away, but my whole body was hurting. I looked back and saw that those 4 men were also running and chasing me, and my attention got diverted from ahead, and I stumbled on a stone and fell.

Even before I could get up, all those men stood around me. "Now where will you escape? We have taken money to kill you; we will leave only after completing the work." Said a tall man who had broken my car's glass.

As soon as I heard his words, a strange wave ran inside me. "Do not do this. What harm have I done to you? I don't even know you guys. Please leave me." I pleaded in front of them, but they started laughing.

One shorty man leaned over my level and said, "Hey guys, he looks cute while pleading; why don't we have some fun before killing him?" His words scared me to the core. Were they going to... No! No! I couldn't let them touch me. I had to run.

Without thinking anything, I pushed that guy and again started running with all my strength. I was running in the dark without any hope when suddenly a car appeared in front of me. I couldn't think of anything, and I ran towards the front of that car.

As soon as I threw myself in front of the black car, the driver of the car applied brakes and stopped the car. I quickly got up and went to the driver's side, knocked on the window, and asked for help. "Please help me. Please." My eyes started tearing, and I started feeling dizzy, but I had to keep myself safe. I was continuously banging on the car door and also looking around because footsteps were starting to come close to me.

When no one came outside the car, I turned to run to the right, but one man stood there and stopped me. I turned left, and a man was already there. I was surrounded by those bad people. One of the men dragged me towards the opposite side of the road, holding my nape, and dropped me.

The man was trying to open the buttons on my shirt, and I was trying to stop him. I pleaded with them, tears streaming from my eyes, "Please let me go. Leave me." I was struggling to get free from them.

My eyes were teary, and I also lost my specs, so my vision was blurry. I couldn't see, but then I felt a hand on my chin and a voice near my ear: "Relax, baby boy. It won't hurt you. You will also enjoy." I heard a loud chuckle and got more scared.

Suddenly, the sound of a gunshot came from somewhere, and the man who was holding my chin lost his grip and fell on me. I gasped and looked in the direction of the car. I saw a dark figure standing near the car.

"RUN or die." A strong yet recognisable voice burst through the air, and I jumped up and ran towards it to save myself. But before I could reach the dark figure, I fell because of my twisted leg. I whimpered in pain and felt helpless.

I raised my head a little and looked at the dark figure and extended my hand for help, expecting that he would help me, and I didn't get disappointed. The dark figure pulled out his gun and then said, "Bang! Bang! Bang!" He shot the remaining three guys.

The dark figure took his steps close to me, and before I could see his face, I felt a sharp pain in my head, and I lost my consciousness.
