Chapter 2 Spark

Alex's POV

I was thinking about something, but my attention got distracted due to the sudden stop of the car. I was about to shout at him, but then I noticed that the driver stopped the car in front of a big mansion. I gave it a quick glance and then put a cigarette in my mouth and lit it up. The bodyguard opened the car door, and I came out. Every guard was bowing and saluting me with every step I took towards the mansion. My Mansion.

The whole mansion was covered with an army of my men. I reached near the gate, and my bodyguard opened the gate for me as soon as I stepped inside. The sound of laughter stopped, and two pairs of eyes landed on me, my best friend, and the maid.

Samuel is my best friend. He was the only person to whom I gave all the rights to be with me, and he was the only reason I believe in a little bit of humanity; otherwise, I would have burned the whole world to get my revenge, which was still not finished yet.

I sighed and shook my head in disbelief. He was the only person who used to talk with everyone friendly. I walked further and sat on the sofa, across from Samuel. "What's so funny?" I asked. The maid bowed and left for the kitchen.

"Oh! The king is here. Do I also need to bow to you, Your Majesty?" Samuel said it playfully and snuggled beside me.

"Cut the crap; what are you doing here?" I moved away from him and adjusted myself.

"Why? Can't I come to meet my friend?" He tried to hug me, but I pushed him away and glared at him. He laughed at my action and settled down on the sofa properly.

The maid came with two cups of coffee and one glass of water and kept the tray on the table. I took the glass of water and asked, "Any updates?"

"Nope," Samuel leaned in, took a cup of coffee, and said, "The owner is very greedy. He is not even ready after offering $10 million. He is asking for more." His words confused me, and I looked at him with a raised brow.

He glanced at me and said, "Don't look at me like this. I know what you're thinking. Yes, we can give him money, but I don't want to. He is greedy and will create problems in the future. I want a permanent solution for him, and he is also not worried about orphan kids."

"Then burn them all; that's it; you've got the solution." I said this while sipping the coffee.

Hearing me, Samuel chocked and coughed, "Are you mad? Kids will die, and I won't allow anyone to do it." He said this, and I looked at him, realising how serious he was looking while saying this.

I knew Samuel from childhood. We grew up together, and together we created our world. He was also the partner in my business, and he was the only one who used to talk with me friendly; otherwise, others only shivered in front of me in fear. I was well aware of how much he loves kids, and that's why he was trying other options instead of killing to snatch the land.

"Did you tell him about us?" I asked.

"Hmm, I did. That idiot took it as a joke." He chuckled and glanced at me. "I think you have to work today." He said this and then leaned back, resting his head on the sofa.

I stayed silent and turned my face to look outside the large glass window. The sun was shining brightly. I checked the time; it was 11 a.m. in the morning. I didn't want to kill someone, but I don't like people who don't listen to me. I stood and ordered, "Let's finish this matter."

When I reached the front of the orphanage, the sound of shouting was coming from inside. The door was open, and I could see the things happening inside. Two men were holding a man, and he was screaming. The owner was about to raise his hand to hit him when I stopped him.

"What is happening here?" I shouted, and then everything fell into silence. The owner turned and looked at me, his eyes wide in shock. He started trembling, and I could see fear in his eyes. On the other hand, the man who was held by two men pushed those men and stood aside with the kids.

While walking inside, I was glaring at the owner and those men who were not ready to give the land to me because of their greed. But I could also feel someone's gaze on me. I turned my eyes to the man and found him staring at me.

The man had brown hair and ocean blue eyes. He was wearing glasses and looked nerdy. His colour was fair, and his cheeks turned a slight hint of pink as soon as he saw me watching at him. His lips were bleeding from the side. A sudden range of anger increased in my body, and I felt like shooting the owner of the orphanage on the spot for hurting the man.

I sat on the chair and kept my feet on the table. I was about to say something, but before that, a smooth voice came. The man said to the owner, "I will see you later, and you better don't touch kids; otherwise..." He didn't complete his sentence and then glanced at me. He held one kid's hand and then walked out.

His voice did something to my heart. I was looking at his disappearing figure, and then I smirked. A doll, my doll

********

"Did you find him?" I asked while my eyes were still on the paper I was holding.

"Not yet." One of my men said this and stood with his head down. I gritted my teeth and crushed the papers and three of them.

It was already one week, and my men couldn't find my doll. I don't know where he has gone. Did the earth eat him or did the sky swallow him? In this one week, I couldn't sleep properly. This was the first time that someone else had appeared in my dreams instead of my flame of revenge. His blue ocean eyes were not letting me sleep.

"You have only two days to keep your family safe." I warned my man, who couldn't find my doll yet.

"Si....Sir ?" The man stammered in fear.

"GET OUT AND FIND HIM." I shouted.
