Chapter 4 Now, As A CEO

He got ready in the morning to take into account his possessions. "Yea. Dad and Mom are dead, can't bring them back."

He looked around at the assembly of domestic workers.

A nice guy. They beamed with smiles. In anticipation of his government. He told them to work hard as before

John and his family and daughter were the occupants of their parents' house.

A mile away, was this new home. A two-story building that was once a statehouse before the government with its policy of financial appropriation, put it out for bidding

As a party man, Mr MacGregor bought the house.

It was refurbished with the trappings of luxury

After addressing the domestic workers, he came down for a meeting.

The plenary meeting with the Atlas Corp management began as he entered the hall that was as cold as a refrigerator's interior.

He has not come to stop the company workers' benefits but for expansion

Every staffer knew what was on and they took him around the departments.

The Bugatti sped to the lesser business premises under Atlas three days later.

At the EMPORIUM, the activities of buying and selling were on. It was a multi-million dollar fashion house with two-class segmentation: middle class and Upper.

While the MD took him around the Mall, he saw Selena, no doubt.

She was in the company of two girls. They bounced in through the swinging glass door of the middle-class

No how on earth could she know whom she saw if told to identify a guy in a grey suit and and dark eyeglasses

" Those three ladies, Mrs Jane. Whatever they bought, I' 'll pay." said David.

Mrs Jane bowed.

He went back into the MD's office.

The three ladies placed their EMPORIUM bags on the counter before one of the lines of the cashiers.

Mrs Jane came to the counter and spoke to them.

What brought Selena here? David was brooding. For the three years she was in their house, she came home only on holidays. They did not one day greet each other.

She was forming, but mad in love, and David was scared of what would happen if caught being in love with her.

She would only cast amorous eyes at him or walk into his laundry shed and make some advances, spit at him at last.

"Ah! " The three exclaimed at Mrs. Jane's words.

They knew what they bought. The amount is in thousands of dollars. They may have easily accepted the grace if it were in hundreds.

"No. Ma." They refused and glared at each other

"The person may know you. He is my boss," said Mrs Jane.

"Your boss! Do we know him?". They looked at themselves.

David stepped out. Laila too, may not recall who he was.

He was handsome but now, any girl could run mad because of his look.

If she had ever thought of seeing 'Evid' or David again, she may have hoped to see him as a scavenger, maybe.

"Selena. Your friend David. Laila's friend." David tried to assist her because her look at him was screwy.

Selena spent minutes trying to understand what was going on. Understood, she was not shy. "Are you here?" she asked David. Her face cornered, her eyes a mirror of her heart. She was falling in love again.

"I am here now. I don't want you to pay."

David was cute, a feast to the eyes any girl would love to show off as her boyfriend.

"So, what are you doing here? These are my friends" Selena introduced Frances and Ann." What are you doing here?" she repeated.

David told the cashier to check what they bought. He gave her a master card and punched his four digits. She retrieved it from the machine and returned it to him.

"Come outside then."

David and the three girls were flanked by the security to the Bugatti." I am the CEO of Atlas Corp. You know my dad and mom are late?"

"I don't understand." Jane, arms crossed before David said. Her friends were entrapped by David's look and luxury. They set envious eyes on him and Selena.

"While with your family, my dad and mom died."

"Who are they, please, did I hear of it?"

"MacGregor. Harrison MacGregor."

The three girls chorused: former chairman of the Green Party?"

David nodded.

"I don't...I don't understand. You are the son?" asked Selena, eyes glinting.

" Let me drop you guys... What did you come to do in this state?" David asked Selena.

" Back to school. My school is the Ninth Grade, very close."

"Where are you staying or living?" Selena inquired.

"Former statehouse," said David. "Statehouse," she repeated.

The Bugatti reached the house, the former statehouse and the security at the gate stood and let the auto gate roll away.

David's security stood with reverence as the three girls, were led into the magnificent house.

"What were you doing with my sister? Nobody is here now," said Selena, sitting a hair's breadth away from David. "Won't you tell me?" she looked hard into David's face.

"You didn't know we're married?"

."Did she ever love you?"

"I thought."

She took David's wrists in her arms, swinging them. " You are still shy, hum?"

"Am not shy. Okay, what should I do?" asked David.

"David. You cannot understand that at our home, I loved you?" Don't tell me that."

David had not concluded what he would do. He had thought to punish her with Marathon sex and threw her away. Or seek how to get Laila back and fuck two of them, two sisters on the same bed at a time and spit into their arses.

Not that they have smelly arses but for revenge. Just revenge.

He excused himself and lit his cigar.

"Hmm. You have changed!" she said.

But having seen him change, would smoking stop a girl from loving a rich and handsome guy?

Anyway, David has many things to do.
