Chapter 4 She Is Hired

Scarlett seldom saw such a handsome and outstanding man. So, when she looked at Elias, she was stunned for a moment. Soon, her eyes were fixed on Elias' suit.

His black suit and dark tie were simple and low-key, but they were particularly eye-catching on him.

Scarlett could guarantee that this suit wouldn't look that good on anyone else.

As soon as Zayne saw Elias, he threw himself into Elias' arms. He was obviously excited.

Scarlett came back to her senses. Zayne seemed very dependent on the man, so she thought he must be Zayne's father.

She stood up and introduced herself in a gentle voice. "Hello, I'm here to apply as a tutor. You can call me Wallace."

As soon as she said this, Zayne's stomach suddenly grumbled.

At this moment, Susan walked toward them and said with a smile, "Mr. Roberts, Zayne must be hungry now. Lunch is ready. You can take him to wash his hands and eat."

Elias picked up Zayne and whispered in the child's ear, "Let's have lunch."

Zayne wrapped his arms around Elias' neck and buried his head in Elias' shoulder. Obviously, he was very clingy to Elias.

Elias was about to turn around to walk to the dining room when he seemed to remember something. He looked at Scarlett and said, "I'll arrange for my assistant to sign the employment agreement with you later."

Scarlett was stunned for a moment. When she came back to her senses, she nodded with a smile. "Okay. Thank you, Mr. Roberts."

When Susan heard this, she gritted her teeth and stared at Scarlett fiercely. She couldn't believe her ears.

Elias had actually hired Scarlett.

She remembered how Elias ignored her just now, and he went straight to Scarlett. She was very jealous.

Susan was the only woman in this villa, and she was in charge of everything about Zayne's daily life. For Elias to leave Zayne to her only proved that he had absolute trust in her. She was very confident that no one could affect her position in this villa.

However, Scarlett's sudden appearance today made her feel an unprecedented sense of crisis.

Susan stared at Scarlett's receding back with eyes full of hatred.

While Elias and Zayne were having lunch in the dining room, Scarlett sat in the living room. Then Jude came and handed the employment agreement to her. She looked through it carefully. And when she saw the salary, her eyes were glued on it.

The salary for this job was really high. And aside from the salary, there were also other attractive benefits. She only had to accompany Zayne to study and play. That was all her responsibilities.

Scarlett read the agreement and then signed it. She couldn't help breathing a sigh of relief.

With this job, she could already pay for her grandmother's medical expenses. She wouldn't have a hard time looking for money anymore.

After Scarlett signed the agreement, Jude took it from her. Then he said gently, "Miss Wallace, you can call me Jude from now on. You will be responsible for Zayne now, so please take good care of him."

Scarlett smiled at him. "Okay. Don't worry. I will take good care of him."

Since Scarlett had already signed the agreement, she stayed until evening. When it was dark outside, she said goodbye to Zayne and left.

Jude went to the study and handed the employment agreement to Elias. He said respectfully, "Mr. Roberts, this is the employment agreement signed by Miss Wallace. Please have a look."

Elias took the agreement casually. Then he threw it into the pile of documents at the side and started flipping through the more important company documents.

If he checked the agreement, he would have noticed that the new tutor he hired had the same name as the woman who had signed the divorce agreement not long ago.

As the night grew deeper, Aurora Bar became more ablaze with gorgeous lights. Inside was already bustling, and the music was deafening. Such an atmosphere made people even more excited. And the air was filled with the intoxicating smell of alcohol.

The bartender took a glass, put ice cubes in it, and poured wine until it was half-full.

A man picked up the glass, raised it in the air, and clinked against the glass of juice. It created a crisp and pleasant sound.

The man, Justin, then exclaimed, "Congratulations, Scarlett! You are about to regain your freedom."

Scarlett took a sip of her juice with a happy smile on her face. "And I have found a new part-time job. Let's also celebrate it. It's a high-paying part-time job."

Upon hearing this, Justin bent down and laughed exaggeratedly.

Scarlett glared at him disgustedly. She turned her head and watched the men and the women wriggling on the dance floor. She muttered, "I don't know what you are laughing at."

Justin laughed out loud for a while before he finally stopped. He took a sip of his wine and said to her, "You look like you can't find any other job."

Scarlett looked at him and stuck out her tongue.

Justin propped his head in the palm of his right hand and sighed, "I have been inviting you to join my studio many times, but you always refuse."

Scarlett gave him an emotionless smile and said, ""I don't work for a black-hearted boss."

Justin sneered, "Are you saying that your current boss is very good?"

As soon as Scarlett heard this, Elias's face flashed through her mind. She was hesitating about how to describe him. Suddenly, a joyful voice sounded, interrupting her thoughts.

"Justin!"

Scarlett turned her head and saw a handsome man walking towards them with a smile. He was dressed gorgeously. But what surprised her was that behind this man was the man she had just met today.

She unconsciously murmured, "Mr. Roberts!"
