Chapter 8 Shopping with the girls

Max and red decided to get some ice cream, and I decided to go home, but Felix insisted that he'd walk me home.

"Okay, that sounds great," I said, feeling a bit nervous but also excited at the same time. Felix and I walked home together.

"I guess max will have a great time with Red. He has been known for being like that, a good friend, " Felix said while we were walking.

"Yeah, he's a great friend. I'm sure he'll help cheer Max up," I said, nodding. It's always great to have friends like Red, who are always there to support you.

"by the way, iris. We will be busy in the coming weeks. We have some gigs at the end of the month, and we have to practice so we can deliver a great performance," Felix says

"Oh, that's great! I'm sure you guys will do great," I replied. "Do you want me to come and support you?"

"I think it's fine, Iris. Finals are coming too. You need to get ready for that." he replied

"Yeah, you're right, Felix. Finals are just around the corner, and I need to focus on that. But I'll be sure to come and watch one of your gigs." I replied.

"Sure, but no pressure, okay? I understand if you're going to miss any of our gigs. School is more important than us," he smiled.

"Thank you, Felix. I really appreciate it. I'll try my best to come to some of your gigs, but I have to prioritize my studies," I replied, smiling back at him. "I'll still support you guys no matter what."

"Anyway, Iris, I just want to ask something," he said, "what is it?" I ask. "this is so random but it sparks curiosity in me," he said laughing, "tell me," I added, "have you ever had a boyfriend?" he finally asked.

"I haven't, actually," I replied. "I've just been busy with school and other things."

He nodded and said, " Really?" "Yes, but I liked some guys before, but it was just a happy crush, never had a serious feeling towards anyone from my past,"

Felix smiled and said, "Well, whoever ends up with you is going to be a lucky guy." I blushed and thanked him for the compliment.

"How about you, Felix? have you had a past relationship?" I ask him this time

Felix shook his head and said, "No, I haven't had a serious relationship before. I was too focused on music and my band. But now, I'm starting to think that maybe I should give it a try."

I smiled and said, "I'm sure there are plenty of girls out there who would love to date you, Felix. You're talented, good-looking, and a gentleman. What more could a girl ask for?"

Felix blushed and chuckled. "Thanks, Iris. You're making me feel shy. But honestly, I think I've already found someone who I'm interested in."

My heart skipped a beat as I asked, "Who?"

Felix looked at me with a smile and said, "You, Iris. I think you're amazing, and I really enjoy spending time with you. Would you like to go on a date with me sometime?"

I felt my face turn red as I grinned and said, "I would love to, Felix. That sounds like fun."

We reached my house, and Felix walked me to the door. He held my hand and said, "I'm really glad we met, Iris. I have a feeling that we're going to have some great times together."

I smiled and replied, "Me too, Felix. I'm looking forward to it."

when I closed the door to my house, I can't stop myself from smiling. am I falling for Felix? I never had this feeling before I told myself. Isla saw me and wondered what was going on with me.

"What's making you so happy, Iris?" Isla asked curiously.

"Oh, nothing, just had a nice walk home," I replied, trying to hide my smile.

Isla looked at me suspiciously, but she didn't push it any further. I went to my room and lay down on my bed, thinking about Felix and our conversation earlier. I couldn't shake the feeling that I was developing feelings for him, but I didn't know how to deal with it.

max was calling me now so I answered her call "Iris," she said, I could feel that she was crying on the line. I wonder what happened again. "what happened? Are you still with red?" I ask her. " No, I left him at the ice cream parlor when Lance messaged me to meet up with him." I let out a deep sigh, "what did you two talk about?" I ask. "we had an official breakup."

I'm sorry to hear that, Max. How are you feeling right now? Do you want to talk about it more?"

"no, it's okay. I just want to inform you," she sobbed on the other line

"I'm here for you, Max. You can always talk to me," I assured her. "Do you want me to come over? I can bring some ice cream and we can binge-watch something on Netflix to keep your mind off things," I added.

"I'm sorry, Max. Breakups can be tough, but I'm here for you," I said reassuringly.

we were still talking when Isla opened the door and sat in front of me on my bed. she patiently waited for me to finish my conversation with max. "What happened to max again?" she asked. "they officially broke up," I told her.

Isla frowned, "That's too bad. I hope she's okay."

"Yeah, she's feeling down right now. I wish there was something I could do to make her feel better," I said with a sigh.

Isla gave me a reassuring pat on the back, "Just be there for her, that's the best thing you can do. You're a great friend, Iris."

I smiled, grateful for her kind words. "Thanks, Isla. You're a great friend too.

"Ask max to shop with us," Isla suggested. I look at her in surprise, "we're going out?" I asked her with a smile on my face, "yeah, let's buy some clothes," she smiled.

"That sounds great. Let's invite Max and make a girls' day out of it," I replied with enthusiasm. "I'll call her and ask her to meet us at the mall," I added, reaching for my phone. Isla nodded in agreement, and we both started getting ready for our shopping trip.

we were at the mall and trying to lift max's mood. We shop at her favorite store, it's a good time to shop because today is sale day, so might really buy a lot.

Max seems to be enjoying herself as we went around the store and picked out different items to try on. We even had a mini fashion show in the fitting room, making each other laugh with our silly poses and jokes. It was nice to see her smile again, and I could tell that Isla was happy too, seeing her friend in a better mood.

"what if we go to the beach after our finals?" isla suggested.

"That sounds like a great idea!" I replied, excitedly. "We can have a mini-vacation and just relax after all the stress from studying and exams. It'll be a perfect way to end the school year."

Max seemed to brighten up a bit at the thought of a beach trip, and she started to look at swimsuits and beachwear with us. We spent the rest of the day trying on clothes, laughing and just enjoying each other's company. It was nice to have some quality girl time after all the drama that had been going on lately.

max was in the fitting room when I saw lance. I am sure it's lance, but she's with another girl shopping also, I was about to confront him but isla told me not to. Isla told me not to ruin max's mood tonight.

It's good that Isla is looking out for Max's well-being. It's important to consider the impact our actions may have on others, especially our friends. It's understandable to feel upset and want to confront someone who has caused us pain, but it's also important to pick our battles and choose the right time and place. I agreed with Isla, but my eyes followed where lance was going.

when max went out of the fitting room and paid for all our stuff. I invited Max and isla to go home so that max won't see lance especially now that he's with some girl. I wonder who she is.

As we all walked out of the store, Max seemed much better than before, and we were glad that the shopping trip had lifted her mood. As we headed towards the exit, I noticed that the girl Lance was with had also come out of the store and was standing nearby, chatting with him. I hesitated for a moment, wondering whether to confront him or not, but then Isla urged me to just let it go for now and not ruin Max's good mood.

We all walked out of the mall and headed to my car, discussing the clothes you had bought and making plans for the beach trip after finals. As I drove home, I couldn't help but wonder about Lance and the girl he was with. But for now, I decided to focus on enjoying the rest of the evening with my friends.
