Chapter 4 Four

Caiden's POV

After a long car ride, Caiden and his Beta Leo finally arrive at the Nightshade Pack residence. Leo climbed out of the car and walked around to open the door for Caiden. As he stepped out of the car he straightened his suit and his eyes caught a woman walking out to the trashcans. Their eyes locked with each other. He was surprised by the sight of her.

"Everything all right Alpha?" Leo's voice became louder with each word.

Snapping back into reality, he broke his gaze from the woman. "Yes. Everything is fine. Find out who that woman is." He said turning his gaze back to where he had seen her.

"Which woman?" Leo asked with confusion, not sure if Caiden had meant the maid.

"That maid that walked out of the building," Caiden said with a small smile on his face.

"But Alpha, she's a maid," Leo said with a shocked expression.

"I know. But she is my mate." Caiden said turning his attention to Leo, "Find out who she is. That's an order."

"Yes, Alpha. As you wish." Leo agreed to Caiden's orders. He closed the car door as Caiden stepped away.

Making their way to the entrance, Elijah and Cora were already waiting for them. "Alpha Caiden, it is an honor to have you join us in celebrating our engagement." Elijah greeted with a smile and stuck out his hand to greet Caiden. But Caiden only looked at his hand and nodded.

"I need to thank you for inviting me," Caiden said with a small smile.

Elijah quickly retracted his hand and wrapped his arm around Cora, "This is my fiancé Cora."

Cora smiled brightly, "Welcome to our home Alpha. Hope it is to your liking."

"It's much smaller than I'm used to but it is lovely." Caiden said then turned to Leo, "Leo, please hand the couple their gift."

Leo stepped forward and handed them an envelope, "What is it?" Cora said then took it from Leo and quickly opened it. "Oh, my fuck." She said with a big smile, "You're gifting us a yacht?"

"It's a bit smaller than mine but I believe you would enjoy it," Caiden said with a straight face.

Elijah gave Cora a look indicating her to keep her mouth shut. "Let's go inside. Shall we?" Elijah said showing the way to Caiden, as they walked past him and Cora he pulled her back and whispered, "What the fuck is wrong with you?"

"What? I was just showing excitement for the gift." Cora said with a scared tone.

"Keep your mouth shut. Let me do the talking. Okay?" Elijah said then pulled her to make her walk.

Sitting under a tree around a coffee table, they enjoyed some wine and discussed some matters at hand. "So, Alpha Caiden. See you haven't brought a date? Why is that?" Elijah asked before taking a sip of his wine.

"I don't need to be accompanied by a date," Caiden said leaning back in his chair.

"But, don't you want someone by your side? I mean, look at me and Elijah. Happy as can be." Cora said with a smile then placed her head on Elijah's shoulder.

Elijah licked his lips in irritation, "True. We were meant to be mates." He said with a hit of annoyance.

"Yes. I can see that." Caiden said then looked down to his empty glass.

"Oh, can I get you some more wine?" Cora asked then snapped her fingers, "Amelia! Wine. Now."

Amelia quickly rushed to them with a bottle of freshly opened wine. "Of course." Amelia's voice flowed through Caiden's eyes and their eyes locked. Caiden was mesmerized by her and was lost for words.

"Amelia? Wine, in the glass." Cora said with irritation.

Amelia didn't say anything and broke her gaze and focused on the task at hand. "Thank you," Caiden said with a warm smile. Amelia nodded and filled the other glasses and placed the bottle on the table. Standing still she waited to get permission to leave.

"You can go now," Cora said her hand in the air and shaking her hand to shoo Amelia away. She nodded and walked away.

Caiden looked back to meet Leo's eyes, indicating that he should follow her and get the information that he had requested. Leo nodded and followed Amelia. Caiden turned his attention back to Elijah and Cora, "So, where will my Beta and I sleep tonight?" He asked as he picked up his glass to take another sip.

"Your room is right next to each other. We assumed that you would have wanted it that way?" Elijah said sitting comfortably in his chair.

"That will be fine. I have no problem with that arrangement." Caiden made his way to his feet, "May I use the restroom?" He asked as he straightened his suit.

"Certainly, through that door. First door on your right." Cora said with a smile, "I could show you if you want?"

"I think I'll manage. Thank you." Caiden said with a smile and made his way to the bathroom.

Closing the door Caiden leaned against the door, "Flint." He said then his eyes turned bright green.

"Seems someone just found their new mate," Flint said with a teasing tone.

"How can this be? I thought I was out of options. Thought I wasn't allowed to receive a new mate?" Caiden asked with confusion.

"Seems to me the Moon Goddess took pity on you. Maybe she wants to see you happy because she actually likes you." Flint said with a cocky tone.

"Didn't think I would find her here," Caiden said as his gaze fell to the ground.

"But a maid? Are you sure you want this one as your mate?" Flint asked.

"She's my mate and this time I'm not going to reject her." Saying this Caiden made his way out of the bathroom.

"Alpha Caiden, Cora will show you to your room and then we will meet at the dining hall for the celebration," Elijah said as he made his way to his feet.

"Thank you. Then I will see you at?" Caiden said waiting for them to tell him the time.

"Seven. Come on, let me show you to your room." Cora said with a smile and Caiden followed.
