Chapter 4 Cat And Rat

Leela ran out of his room, like a rat been chased. Her heart beating fast, she was scared and terrified.

She blamed herself for coming to his room, but she couldn't help it. She couldn't sleep, so she followed her adopted mom, she heard all their conversation and felt bad for him.

She knows how it feels, to be abandoned. And she almost died for it, she thanked her head that he really didn't kill her. But that doesn't mean, she will stay away.

One thing she had heard from her orphanage mother, is to help those in pain. Even if they don't want it.

"Don't do for yourself or them, do it for God" Her orphanage mom will always preach.

And that is what she will do.

"He needs her help, and she is going to help him but first avoiding him is the best option right now" Leela thought as she went back to her room.

It has been a week since Leela has bee avoiding Bruce, she avoids him every single chance she gets.

Who won't? She almost died in his hand.

Leela got up from her bed, all dressed for school. Looking beautiful as always in her uniform.

Leela came downstairs for breakfast when she came across with Bruce. She swears, she thought the ground will swallow her with the way he was looking at her. Like he really was going to kill her, his eyes so cold.

"What are you doing? Won't you seat for breakfast?" Mrs Sonia asked Leela while she turns around like an idiot.

"If you take a seat" Bruce warned when she pulled out a chair.

"But young master, she is late for school, and she need to have breakfast before she goes" Mrs Sonia insisted.

"I can't have breakfast with her, she disgusts me" Bruce uttered coldly.

"Bruce" Mrs Richmond shouts.

Leela could feel tears prickling her eyes, that is the first time someone will say that to her.

She has been bullied in school, but none ever says she disgusted them.

"It is ok, ma. I'll just go without having breakfast" Leela said, her voice broken and her tears threaten to fall.

"But..." Mrs Sonia was cut off by her next action.

"I will get going" Leela announced and ran out of the house.

Bruce chuckled, satisfied when she left.

"How could you say that to your sister?" Mrs Richmond yelled.

"I don't acknowledge her as my sister, and I will never" Bruce replied.

"When did you become like this?" Mrs Richmond asked, disappointed.

"I was always like this, but am sure you never noticed. Am done with breakfast" Bruce spoke.

"Sit, I still have something to tell you" Mrs Richmond order.

"What?" Bruce asked.

"Here" Mrs Richmond said and gave him a document.

"I want you to choose between these school, you are in your final year. I can't let you be going around without doing anything" Mrs Richmond said.

"So you want to send me to school?" Bruce asked.

"Yes" Mrs Richmond answered.

"Am not interested, in no time I will be handling father's company, so it will be better if I start now" He rejected and put the document down.

"Well, I am. If you want to handle your father company, then you have to graduate. I can't watch my son not educated" Mrs Richmond said making Bruce laughed.

"Your son? Yes, let's say you gave birth to me, but I never considered you as my mom" Bruce said.

"I will ignore what you just said" Mrs Richmond said, despite she was hurt by his words.

"Which school is Leela going?" Bruce asked which caught everyone's attention including the maids with them.

"Why?" Mrs Sonia asked.

"Won't it be good if I go to the same school as my sister. I badly want to get to know her now" Bruce replied and Mrs Sonia shook in fear.

Mrs Richmond smiled, not aware of her son's true intention.

"Fine, let's do that. I'm so happy you made that choice" She stated happily.

Bruce smirked.

"I'm also happy, I made that choice" Bruce muttered.

"I will contact the principal tomorrow" Mrs Richmond said.

"No, do it now. I am craving to go to school, so let me start today" He said.

It surprises everyone except for Mrs Sonia. She could tell what he was planning, and she felt bad for Leela.

"If that's what you wish, I will do that right now" Mrs Richmond smile.

Royal's Evergreen High School

Leela was shown seated at the side of the window in her class, at the back.

She was depressed at Bruce words, but not angry at him. Him finding her disgusted makes her sad, it breaks her heart hearing that comes from him. And because of him, she didn't even have breakfast.

"What is going on with Holy mother today" Some group of girls walked to Leela.

"Please girls, am not in the mood today" She pleaded.

"Come on, don't say that. You are making me feel bad with that, don't you know you are the reason I come to school every time, to bully you" Laura the prettiest and the nasty one, also the leader said while the rest laughed.

She held Leela's chin.

"Seeing you everyday gives me joy, is that not so?" Laura asked her gang.

"Yes" Another girl named Kim answered.

The remaining two, Sasha and Alexa laughed manically.

"Remember this, you are a slave for the LASK" Sasha uttered and Laura let go of Leela chin.

"See you" They waved and went back to their seat.

Leela buried her head on the locker, crying.

Laura, Alexandra, Sasha and Kimberley popularly known as the LASK girls. They were known as the queen, and the bitch of the school, especially Laura.

She hates anything that is more beautiful better than her.

"Attention everyone" A teacher said as he entered with a student behind his back.

"I will like to announce to you, that we have a new student in our class" The teacher said while the whole class yelled apart from Leela whose head was buried on the desk.

"Wow, who is this handsome guy?

"Is he a Greek God?

"He must not be from this planet?"

"Some student murmured.

Leela raised her head up to look at the new student, and to her surprise. It is her brother, her eyes widened.

She was almost drooling, he looks different and what other classified as hot.

He is dripping wet, Leela didn't know where the thought came from, but she imagined her brother touching her.

"God" Leela yelled while the whole class stared at her.

"What is it, Miss Richmond?" The teacher asked.

"Nothing" Leela answered, and some student laughed at her.

Bruce smirked, he is never going to give her a rest of mind.

"Please, introduce yourself" the teacher said.

"I am Bruce Richmond, that is all you need to know" Bruce said arrogantly.

"Richmond??" Laura asked and looked at Leela.

"Are you related to Leela?" Kimberly asked.

"Yes, she is my adopted sister" Bruce answered while everyone gasped.

Leela covered her face embarrassed, no one knew she was adopted until now.

"Master Richmond, why don't you go take a seat beside Laura there" The teacher said while Laura smiled.

"No, I found a seat" Bruce declined making Laura frown.

He walked to Leela and sat beside her.

"I hope we get along, sis" He pulled his chair closer to her.

"I wasn't joking, when I said I will make life hard for you. We've just started, and you can look forward to it." Bruce said with a smirk dancing on his face.
