Chapter 5 They Are Everywhere

"Oh my God! You can finally see again! I'm so happy for you."

Sarka smiled faintly at Edo, his best friend from childhood. Sarka nodded slowly. "Thanks, I'm also happy to see you again."

Edo patted Sarka's shoulder lightly. "I'm sorry that I couldn't come here to see you yesterday, my mom and I were at my grandmother's house. And we just got back last night," he said regretfully.

Sarka had no problem with that. He was fine with it, he didn't mind if Edo didn't welcome him back yesterday. Besides, Edo must also have his own busy schedule, Sarka couldn't force his will. And Sarka also couldn't tell Edo to stay by her side all the time. That wouldn't happen, Sarka also had his own business, of course.

"Why are you apologizing? You didn't do anything wrong. Don't think about it anymore, I have no problem with it," Sarka said. He calmed Edo down. Fortunately, Edo immediately nodded.

During the past six months, when Sarka was accompanied by darkness, Edo also often accompanied and encouraged Sarka. Edo was a loyal friend, and he would never leave Sarka in distress.

"In fact, I should be the one apologizing to you. I've bothered you too much all this time," Sarka continued.

"How long have you been saying that? I'm your best friend from childhood. We'll always be together, Sar."

"And I've been asking you to change my nickname since I was a kid. Stop calling me Sar! I don't like it!"

Edo chuckled softly. "Why? Your name is Sarka, is it wrong for me to call you Sar?" Edo gave Sarka an amused look, making Sarka snort and look at Edo with dislike.

"The thing is, people think my name is Sarah, Sari, or Sarwendah! Those are girls' names! I'm sick of it, you know? I'm not a girl! How many times have I told you that you should change your nickname for me." Sarka spoke quickly in a loud tone of voice.

Edo always liked it when Sarka was already angry with him about the name-calling. The chubby boy with curly hair looked at Sarka and shook his head firmly. "No, that's my nickname for you. I've been calling you that for a long time."

Tired of arguing because it was impossible to win, Sarka finally gave in. He looked at Edo while shaking his head. "Whatever you say, I give up!"

"Why didn't you give up earlier? Come on, hurry up, and put on your shoes. We have to go to school, it's already late. I don't want to be late and be punished with you again like before." Edo babbled at length.

Sarka immediately started putting on his shoes. "How do we intentionally leave late, Do?" asked Sarka, teasing Edo. He chuckled slightly.

Hearing Sarka's response, Edo widened his eyes. He quickly hit the back of Sarka's head. "You talk carelessly! It's not funny, I don't want to be punished anymore!"

"So what? We're only grounded for mopping the floor. It should be fine."

"That was back then!" Edo protested again. "The punishment is different now. Sweeping and mopping the floor, cleaning the toilets, cleaning the library, even being told to sunbathe in the middle of the field. You can do all of that at once. What do you want, huh?!"

Sarka grimaced softly at Edo's explanation. He shook his head. "I don't want to."

"So, hurry up and put on your shoes!"

"Yes, it'll be finished soon. Don't you see?" Sarka snorted harshly.

And then, after Sarka finished putting on his shoes, they both went straight to school on Edo's motorcycle for this week. As for next week, it was Sarka's turn to use the motorcycle. This policy has been in place since they first entered high school. The reason is quite easy, to save money. After all, their houses are not far away-only three houses apart.

It only took less than twenty minutes for Edo's motorcycle to arrive at the school parking lot. Sarka got off Edo's motorcycle and took off his helmet.

"Here's your helmet." Sarka looked at Edo, then nodded and handed over his helmet.

Sarka looked around him, which still looked the same as the last time he saw it. Not much different, except that there was a slight expansion for the motorcycle and car parking lots. The rest was still no different.

"Why are you silent?" Edo, who saw Sarka's silence, elbowed him in the arm. Sarka laughed softly, and he let out a short sigh.

"No problem, let's go to class." Sarka walked first, followed by Edo, who tried to keep up with Sarka's footsteps.

On the way to class, Sarka suddenly stopped his steps when his eyes found something odd. Sarka's gaze was straight at a female teacher who was walking. But there was one thing that made Sarka's hair stand on end. He then swallowed. His breath stopped in his throat until Sarka finally realized it when Edo nudged his arm again.

Edo clicked his tongue. He looked at Sarka with an annoyed look. "Why did you stop? Our class is still over there!" He said it fiercely as he pointed to the front. "Sarka? What's wrong with you? You've been so weird all day."

Sarka shook his head slowly. He wanted to deny that he had just seen the wrong thing. But what he saw felt very real. Sarka was not lying. He then looked at Edo. "I think I saw something," he said to Edo.

"See what?" Edo said quickly, and before Sarka could say anything else, he was already following what Sarka saw.

Edo nodded after seeing what Sarka meant. "Oh, I know too."

Edo's confession just now made Sarka immediately chuckle. Really? Sarka blinked his eyes, and he looked deeply at Edo. Could Edo actually see what Sarka saw too? Or was Edo just misunderstanding him? But Sarka felt doubtful.

"What did I see?" asked Sarka, provoking Edo. He wanted to know the answer from his best friend.

"What else if not Miss Indah? Your gaze hasn't moved from there since before. I now know why you stopped walking, Miss Indah is really pretty, isn't she?"

Sarka opened his mouth, about to reply, but Edo hurriedly spoke first.

Edo chuckled softly as he patted Sarka's shoulder. "Of course, you just saw Miss Indah, right? Oh, for your information, Miss Indah is a new teacher at our school. She was transferred here two months ago. And funnily enough, she teaches in our class!"

No, not that. Sarka did not want to know about the new teacher, Miss Indah. Indeed, her face looked very pretty, indicating that she was young. But, that wasn't what Sarka had meant all along.

Sure enough, Edo had misunderstood. It was not Miss Indah that Sarka saw. Instead, what Sarka had seen all along were three little boys with bald heads and completely pale bodies, giggling around Miss Indah's feet.

And Edo didn't see that, only Sarka could. Sarka had also guessed that the three little boys were not human, he knew what they were. And Sarka didn't want to mention it. Although the morning had not yet turned to noon, it was possible that Sarka's goose bumps were already bristling.

Now there was one thing Sarka could conclude, and that was that something was wrong with his new eyes. What Sarka had not seen before, he could now see very easily.

They-the ghosts, were everywhere.
