Chapter 4 The moon's reckoning

Logan was engulfed with mixed feelings, he was happy that he stood up to his father. He hated when his father treated servants in that manner. He never intended to mate with Nora, but he needed to prove a statement to his father that he wasn't all authoritative as he seems. Ever since he was young, Logan was a fun loving young guy who was loved by all and hated by none. His loving nature extended it tentacles to everyone and he did not take delight in seeing people being given inhumane treatments.

As Alpha Damien's first child, he was very fierce and bold, he had the prospect and the trait of an alpha blood running through his veins and his father is always delighted to show him off to his guests anytime they came.

Logan had known of Nora, the serving nurse through the Beta's daughter Hannah who he noticed was a close friend of Nora and so learned that behind what people called a weak wolf is actually an innocent soul was who needed nothing but love and tenderness.

During those times, he didn't like her as he felt a pull towards her. Even though he had always found her naturally beautiful and knew there was something that kept drawing him towards her and now that the moon goddess had destined them to be, he was worried about his past and involving Nora in it

Once the party was over, everyone had retired to their home all happy. Alpha Damien on the other hand, had some unfinished business to attend to which was his son. He had summoned for him to his chambers and needed to have a hearty discussion about the whole issue at hand and how it could be resolved.

The Alpha's chamber was quite warm and the massive curtains hung above each corners of the window preventing the chills of the winter season. The walls were beautifully crafted with great arts depicting the rich history that Liberty Pack had amassed over the years. Logan was sitting on the couch closest to the window as his father stood up and was pacing around, with his hands behind his back.

"Turn to the left side of the room, what can you see?" the Alpha directed. Logan looked at the direction his father was talking about and there were the pictures of the bloodline of the Alphas that have ruled the pack before his father.

"All I see is pictures of my ancestors that have ruled this pack before you" said Aeriel.

Alpha Damien nodded in affirmative to what he had said and took out an empty frame from the side of the gigantic bed wherein he sleeps upon.

"This frame will be used to hold the picture of the next alpha of this pack after my demise. And from what I have always thought you right from your tender age, Alphas are not ordinary pack members. They are special wolves bless by the moon goddess and they have special abilities that other wolves don't have and that is the spirit of leadership" the Alpha stated calmly.

"I do not know why the moon goddess has chosen to be cruel to me by ensuring you my dearest son is mated to an serving nurse but, I will have you know that I am not going to approve of your union. I can't have an serving nurse as my daughter in law and certainly, I can't have an serving nurse to be Luna of this Pack" Alpha Damien, remarked with irritation clearly in his tone.

"Father, you may have your reasons for hating on the serving nurse, but that won't stop destiny from come to materialism" Logan said, clearly getting irritated by her father's constant cruel remarks on his mate.

"And what do you know about destiny? You think that every wolf will have to wait for the moon goddess before they can take their destiny into their own hands? My dear you are wrong and if you are going to preach to me about destiny, I will have you know that my great grand father, shaped ours today and we will be forever grateful to him" the alpha said, hoping his son will see the bigger picture.

"So, what do you want me to do father? I am stuck with the serving nurse that you resent, all thanks to the moon goddess" Logan said once again.

"Reject her! leave her alone and once you do that, I assure you, the right mate will come" Alpha Damien said with conviction in his eyes praying his son understands

"You shouldn't be the one to tell me what to do with my life." Logan yelled out at his father, who stared in disbelief at his son's audacity. Logan gave a long stare at his father and eventually walk out of the room.

Alpha Damien was furious. He never expected things to turn out this way and certainly did not expect his son to be given as mate to the serving nurse. Pacing around his room in deep thought, he reminisced to the genesis of the actual reason behind his resentment for the serving nurse and came to the conclusion that the moon goddess was trying to get back at him and so he swore with his bloodline that he would not allow his son mate the serving nurse.

Logan headed towards the direction of his mother's chamber the Luna. Veeine saw the countenance of her son, she knew it could only be caused by his father and no one else.

"What did he do this time?" she said as she tried to wipe off the tiny drop of tears coming from her daughter's eye this time.

"Mother, when you met him how was the feeling like" the Luna was taken aback by this question but then reflecting over it she said

"When I knew he was my mate, I was happy, I have always loved your father even before we mated, it was like we were destined for each other" the Luna explained smiling to no one in particular as she reminisced back to her younger days when she was deeply in love with Alpha Damien even though the love still lives till this present moment.

"Mother, I found my mate today" the Luna was torn away from her nostalgic reflection and looked at her son directly to process the information she had just spoken.

"That is good news! Where is she? Is she beautiful? Who are her parents?" the Luna threw questions at Logan like they were bricks.

"My mate is the serving nurse" the Luna paused for a minute and tried to once again process what she had just heard.

"Which serving nurse?" the Luna tried to understand what she is saying.

"There is only one popular serving nurse in the pack mum" the Luna was shocked at this and suddenly began to cry, leaving Logan confused.

"Why did the moon goddess give my child a trash as a mate" and once again Logan's wolf growled at the fact that her mate is called a trash. On hearing the growl from her son, the Luna continued crying hysterically, questioning the moon goddess. Logan was about to leave her mother to her sobs when the Luna said

"Listen to me, I don't know about you, but as Luna and also your father being Alpha, it is a disgrace to us and it would be an embarrassment to announce that you are mated to an serving nurse!!" the Luna said the last word with disgust.

Logan didn't want to press the issue forward and so left the Luna and retired fully back to his room. While in his room, she went into deep thought thinking of what the serving nurse had done to everyone that she had attracted hate from literally everybody. He didn't see any reason to hate her and if he was being honest, she was a hardworking young lady who made sure the pack members eat and also ensured that his father's house ishealthy.

Logan's wolf at this point was growled in sweet pleasure and wished for his mate to be beside her. He was determined to meet with her once more to sort out many issues as regards their mating and also what fate holds for them. One thing Logan knew was that, he was mated to an serving nurse, and even when everyone thinks that she is not his mate, he knew he needed to do what was right, something that would keep her safe. He wasn't willing to jeopardize his mate for his selfish reasons.
