Chapter 5 Caliber and choices

Ryan's POV

Ryan paced about the Dormitory like he was anticipating something.

"So...you hung out with them?" Leo asked, folding his arms and smiling.

"I guess I did," Ryan replied, dropping his bag on his bunk bed.

"Seriously?" Leo raised his eyebrow.

"Or did they force you?" he asked.

Ryan sighed.

"I went on my own accord," he replied.

"Pretty dope bro...but you never hang out with me...I mean I have invited you to many of my gatherings but you just wouldn't budge and it's not like I'm your enemy or something," Leo said.

Ryan turned to him.

"What's this supposed to mean?" he asked.

"Seriously? You don't get it?...okay it's fine...really...I know I'm not your type of person...I hardly even get a stare when I pass by and I been seen around you will probably make you lose your popularity...but you know, we could start from somewhere...we could be friends even in secret...no one will ever know...don't tell me you popular guys don't have a private life...I mean it..."

"Okay stop!" Ryan yelled.

Leo was startled.

"If I was that proud...maybe we wouldn't be standing on the same floor," Ryan said, taking his towel.

"But I don't know...I feel like you don't like me...and it's because I am not of your caliber," Leo said.

Ryan stood still. He was half naked now, putting on only a boxer. His white skinned back turned against Leo.

'Caliber', that word got to him and he wondered why Leo had to use it.

"Really...not all the popular guys you see around me...are of my caliber," he said.

He walked slowly to Leo.

"Believe me when I say...I am only managing to be friends with them...because most of them wouldn't just let me be," he said, his face close to Leo's.

Leo stared on, studying his facial features.

"I don't know what they find in me...they just wouldn't mind being my friends," Ryan said as he withdrew his face from him.

He walked to the bathroom door and then stopped as if he forgot to say something important. He looked back at Leo who stood, silent mostly because he didn't know what to say.

Ryan entered into the bathroom without uttering a word.

Audrey's POV

"I don't know who told him about me liking Ryan but if I ever find out who did...he or she will be damn sorry," Audrey said.

"But you still wouldn't mind anyone knowing that you like Ryan, so why care?" Victoria asked, filing her nails.

"I determine who hears the gist and when the story should be heard!" Audrey said, standing up.

"Okay calm down dear," Victoria said.

"But you know Carter has his sources too...he is a very popular guy, he can get information when he wants," Victoria said.

"Yes true but this is...this is all too fast...he found out too fast," Audrey said.

"So dear...do you plan on dumping him soon?" Victoria asked, smiling maniacally.

Audrey was silent.

Victoria was confused.

"Oh my lady still has feelings for Carter...and now she is stuck between two sweet choices," Victoria said,smiling.

"Oh shut up for once dummy!" Audrey said.

Victoria was startled.

"Do not mistake my silence to mean something else...you don't always have to be dumb!" Audrey added.

Victoria lowered her head.

"There is more to this story," Audrey said.

Victoria raised her head.

"What gives?" she asked, curiously.

"How can I even trust you? You can't even trust yourself," Audrey said.

"Oh dear...I trust myself...I am not as dumb as you think"

Audrey erupted in laughter.

"I just want you to know...so as not to spread false information...that scum of a boyfriend cheated on me! With Maya Williams! I caught them!" Audrey said.

Victoria gasped.

"Now listen to me! I didn't let this become the morning headline and I don't want it to trend! If you tell a being about this...trust me...you will be kissing this university goodbye...you will never know what happened to you!" Audrey said, smiling.

Victoria shook her head in fear.

"You have my loyalty...not an ear will hear it," she said.

"Hmm of course not...I need to talk to Ryan...I need to patch things up with him...we started on a wrong foot...we'll start all over...yes we will," Audrey said, smiling.

Emma's POV

"Who is ready to have the best night of her life?" Anna said, throwing her hands up.

"Don't make a big deal about it it's just movie night," Chloe said, grabbing her pillow.

"But it's special, don't you agree, Emma?" Anna asked, turning to Emma.

Emma stood with her pillow in her hand.

She smiled.

"I agree," she said.

"Of course she will agree because we are not in the dark," Chloe said, mocking her.

"Oh stop it Chloe....don't ruin the night," Anna said, setting up her bed.

"So Emma...you are the one picking the movie tonight," Anna said.

"Yeah which one did you pick? Unicorn baby? Or The Pony of Fantasia?" Chloe said, laughing.

Emma rolled her eyes.

"But in the history of our movie night, have I ever picked a weird movie?" she asked.

"Well no...but you could pick a weird movie tonight...you look like you could use a weird movie right now," Chloe said.

"You are not funny," Emma said, switching on her tablet.

"We are watching...The feast," Emma said.

"Woah...sounds...normal," Chloe commented.

"Is it? Have you seen the thriller? I have never heard of it," Anna said to Emma.

Emma didn't utter a word.

"I...saw the thriller...if I didn't,will I want to watch it?" she said.

"Alright...let's watch then," Chloe said.

"I'll get the popcorn and drinks," Anna said as she ran off.

"So guess who started off a new friendship," Chloe said, sitting down on the carpet.

"Who?" Anna asked, sitting down.

"Carter Stewart....the hot blonde, captain do the school's football team"

"Are you serious? With who?"

"Ryan Gray....the cutest guy in school"

Anna gasped.

"No way!" she said.

"I didn't think those two would ever bond until I saw them strolling to school this evening...everyone else saw them...it was so surprising," Chloe said.

"Wow...but what about Audrey? Isn't she gonna freak out about this? I'm sure she's gonna be mad at Carter...that girl hates Ryan," Anna said.

"I don't know...she must have heard," Chloe said, chewing a popcorn.

"Mehn...all I wanna do is talk to Ryan....but he's so reserved and seems not to notice any girl," Chloe said, rolling her eyes.

"Some students say he's weird," Anna said.

"Audrey made them believe that"

"Yeah she can make anyone believe anything...."

"Okay...can we watch the movie now?" Emma asked.

"You never wanna talk about boys," Chloe said.

Emma was quiet.

It was weird that Chloe said that.

"I don't...let's just watch the movie," she said.

"So you like Ryan?" Anna asked Chloe, ignoring Emma.

"I guess I do," Chloe replied.

"Why?"

"I don't know...I guess...he's just my type"

Emma raised a brow.
