Chapter 4 BLOOD

"You're crazy, don't pretend when you talk," Jessica snorted in disbelief.

The student fixed the position of her glasses. "If you don't believe it, come along and see the truth," she said and continued to run with the other group of students.

"Jessica, how is this?" said Marilyn frightened.

"How's it going? Let's see, prove what she said is true or not." Without waiting for the girl's approval, Jessica grabbed Marilyn's hand and led her to the back of the school building.

It seemed that the students were crowded around the place, Jessica with curiosity pulled Marilyn to trick the students into arriving at the front position. Marilyn felt like she couldn't stand up any longer. Right in front of her, she saw Miss Janet, dead in a pathetic condition.

Half of Miss Janet's body was covered with bushes. Her eyes were wide open, her face was bluish in color, as if she had been strangled until the woman breathed her last.

At the same time, the teacher and the authorities rushed into the location where Mrs. Janet's body was found. Marilyn and Jessica were ordered to stay away from the crime scene. The teachers were busy bringing their students back to class.

"You all stay in class, no student is allowed to leave school. The school will be closely guarded by security guards while waiting for further information on when you will be sent home. The school will contact your parents to make sure you are in good condition. While you are still in the school environment, it is still our responsibility."

In the classroom, the students looked restless. They regretted Mrs. Janet's departure. Some of the students seemed to say a prayer together for her departure even though yesterday she was still teaching in this class.

"I saw strangulation marks on her neck, clearly those were human hands. She was killed," said one of the students in the class. Marilyn looked at the name tag printed on his school uniform. The student was named Joshua.

"But what are Mrs. Janet doing in the back of the school? She's a physics teacher, I often see her busy in the physics laboratory, even though the building is far away from the location where her body was found," said Marcel, more precisely Marcel Kaarenth Bynder, the nerdy student who had reprimanded Jessica the other day.

"Could Mrs. Janet be taken to the back of the school building and then killed?"

"Her death is still mysterious, wait until the police confirm what really happened, don't make weird assumptions yet," said Jessica interceding.

Marilyn nodded, agreeing with Jessica's statement.

"But I could hear what the teachers were saying," said the bespectacled girl, suddenly turning the attention of all the students towards her.

"What? What did you hear?" Joshua insisted.

"Before her death, Mrs. Janet was reported missing. Even the school was surprised when they found out that her body was in the building behind the school." Anna Merchgartin, the name of the girl who said just now.

"Disappear? But she still had time to teach in this class yesterday," Marcel was surprised.

Instantly Marilyn began to remember the things she went through yesterday. She remembered that Miss Janet left the classroom at nine in the morning, then they were greeted by recess.

"Yesterday Miss Janet went out at nine in the morning. It is possible that when dhe finished teaching, she began to be reported missing," said Marilyn.

They glanced at the clock on the wall, it was exactly nine o'clock where recess was taking place.

"If the chronology is like that, then she disappeared for about twenty-four hours, then was found dead."

Marilyn sighed. What really happened to Miss Janet?

Marilyn got up and said goodbye briefly to her friends.

"Where are you going?" Jessica asked.

"To the toilet in a moment," said Marilyn.

"I follow you," Jessica replied as she got up.

"No need, just clash really."

Jessica was initially worried, the girl looked around. Her feelings were relieved when she found the boy alone as usual. That meant Marilyn would be fine.

"Fine, be careful. Hurry back!"

Upon Marilyn's arrival in the toilet, she immediately headed towards the sink, turned on the water and started washing her face. While in class she felt hot, so she decided to go to the toilet for a while. Finished with her activities, Marilyn then looked up at the mirror.

Several groups of students of her age were seen entering to tidy up their hair and uniforms. Marilyn, who was done with her business, was about to leave, but the students' conversation discouraged her.

"I have heard that until now Mrs. Janet's death is still mysterious," said one of them.

"Really? It's obvious that she was killed, right?" asked another.

"The handprints do not indicate the fingerprints of any of the suspects."

"Who are the named suspects?"

"The school caretaker, the teachers and the principal."

"So, her death is still mysterious?"

"Hm, all of us, the students will be tested for fingerprints."

"Don't you realize that? Does this case have anything to do with the "ghost terror" rumor? Yes, even though the victim found so far is Mrs. Janet, it does not rule out the possibility that there will be other victims," one assumption relates to the rumors currently circulating.

Marilyn tensed up, not wanting to hear more, the girl rushed out of there. However, as a result of her steps being too hasty, she had to bump into someone from the front.

"Gosh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. Really accidentally," she said apologetically to the tall boy in front of her. But Marilyn's expression changed when she found out that the person she bumped into was William.

"You? Again, I'm sorry," she said. "Nobody's hurt, right?" Marilyn continued to check the condition of the boy's body. Instead of answering, William walked away somewhere.

"He's really weird, huh?" her monologue stared at William's departure, which was increasingly being eaten away by the long corridors.

***

Marilyn looked down at her shoes with a sad look. Until now, students have been told to wait and are not allowed to go home first. All school members will carry out a fingerprint matching test, if one of them matches the fingerprints on Miss Janet's body, then those concerned will carry out further investigations.

It was deserted, it felt like there was no life along the corridor. Marilyn knew that Jessica was desperately looking for her. But Marilyn again wanted to be alone. But now is break time.

Where have the school children gone? And, why is the temperature around it cold? Even though when her nether turned towards the field, the weather looked hot.

Involuntarily Marilyn felt her neck, cold. She don't know what happened to her body temperature. The girl was about to step out of the corridor, but a strange whisper from the direction of the music room caught her attention.

Curious, she stepped into the room with monochrome nuances. Meanwhile, the whispering voice she heard earlier had disappeared.

She stared at the entire contents of the room she stepped on, Marilyn looked amazed by the neatly lined up musical instruments, the good placement layout.

On the sidelines she looked at the rows of musical instruments, her nose caught a wafting fishy smell. Slowly the bad smell got sharper, Marilyn suddenly covered her nose.

"Where is this smell coming from?" Sje muttered curiously walking to find the origin of the smell.

Marilyn's footsteps led her to a large cupboard in the corner of the room. Wait, something's weird.

"A blue wardrobe? It doesn't really match the monochrome theme of this room," she said, frowning confused.

Marilyn was surprised to feel the thick liquid that hit her shoes. She pulled back and covered her mouth.

"Blood?" her monologue.

Her eyes widened, realizing that the thick, fishy-smelling liquid was coming from the large blue cupboard in front of her.

"How come?" the parrot was still shocked.

"What are you doing?" said a voice suddenly greeted.
