Chapter 7 I don't like her.

Lexsi closed the door to her room tightly. She leaned against the door with her hands clenched into fists. Ellina's face flashed, and all that disgust came to the surface.

"Ahkkkk...!" she shouted frantically. Several items had gone flying, causing a commotion. "How could this happen! I put her in front of me to mess up her life. But why! But why didn't I know that the person he was matched with was such a person? He should be a pervert! He should be a bearded man with a beer belly! Ellina should be suffering!"

Her breathing was ragged with emotion. She was not usually like this. She had been doing this for a long time. Curbing her anger by being gentle and being a perfect child. So that his parents would quickly understand that they didn't need another child besides her. But this time, her plan had wholly gone awry.

"What should I do?" she asked while walking back and forth endlessly.

"Lexsi."

The sound of a knock on the door, accompanied by Vania's voice, and Lexsi's eyes light up.

"Mom, I can't anymore. It wasn't supposed to be like this! I should have been her fiancé!"

Vania looked at her daughter's room and immediately calmed Lexsi down. "You can take her place. I'll talk to Father."

Lexsi's eyes lit up. "Really?"

Vania nodded.

"What about her?" asked Lexsi thoughtfully. "No, Kenzie already met her."

Stroking Lexsi's hair fondly, Vania smiled. "But not in a good mood."

"But Father still wants her to get engaged,"

"Mommy will arrange that. You don't have to worry,"

Lexsi nodded with relief and hugged her mother. She had been doing this for a long time. Taking everything Ellina has for granted, but she doesn't know why Ellina is always lucky. And that made her hate her even more.

"Why are you still protecting her?" asked Lexsi, her hands clenched tightly. She remembered very well when she first came to the Rexton family home. There was a beautiful little girl, like a queen, who was always treated very well. "Isn't she just a foster child?"

Vania's body stiffened. "A foster child? Don't say this in front of your father, or we'll suffer the consequences."

"Mom," Lexsi whined.

Sighing, Vania nodded. "She's not a foster child! He's really your father's daughter."

The realization came like thunder. Lexsi's body stiffened reflexively away from her mother. "What?"

"She is the daughter of the woman your father once loved. But that woman passed away while giving birth to Ellina. So if you wonder why your father was so harsh and seemed to hate Ellina yet protected her simultaneously, that is because Ellina is the only relic of the woman he loved!"

Lexsi didn't even know what to say. This was big news. No, she had just realized why Ellina always got the best despite doing nothing. Why she was always lucky even though she always heard people call her 'foster child'. Because this was the hidden fact. No matter how much she tried her best to snatch everything Ellina had, her father never looked at her.

"Because I'm not his daughter?" Lexsi whispered coldly with a cynical laugh. "That's right, isn't it? Because I'm not his daughter! That's why I can't get anything I want. I always tried to get rid of her so hard, but Father never responded, even though she had to lock Ellina up. No, that can't happen! Only me! Only me should be the daughter of the Rexton family!"

Vania hugged Lexsi tightly. The atmosphere around them was cold. "Calm down. Keep your voice down. Let's arrange something that makes your father angry. I'll arrange it for you and make sure all the plans go smoothly."

Lexsi's eyes lit up despite the tears in the corners of her eyes. "Are you sure?"

"You think I don't want to get rid of her? We've been going this far. We can't stop here."

Lexsi wiped away her tears. Hugged her mother tightly. "I want a child from the Reegan family. No, he was mine from the beginning, Mother."

Vania smiled. "Mother will arrange it."

In another room, there was Ellina's sweaty body with recurring nightmares. Her sweat flooded her body, and the quiet words kept coming out, with her hands flailing around, trying to reach for something.

"No, save me. I don't want to die; save me. Please, save me."

Ever since turning back, her dreams of death had been coming like a bad omen she couldn't escape. She was even afraid to fall asleep. Scared that when darkness fell, she would feel the same pain that led her to her death. Until she woke up, her eyes were wide open with immense fear. She fetched water from her bedside and stayed up all night.

This was bad; it kept happening every night, she couldn't close her eyes, or the pain of death would come again and again. Her mind drifted. This life was so different; she couldn't act the same because things weren't the same as in the past. As the image of Kenzie appeared. Her body stiffened in fear.

"No, I'm dirty. Don't come near me. I don't want to be with you. I don't like you!"

It was a natural human instinct to avoid things they deemed dangerous. Since his death, she had determined what she should avoid. And the first was that man. She didn't want revenge for her death. She just wanted to leave in peace. A better life with a different destiny.

If, after his death, she still loved Kenzie, then everyone would think she was crazy. How could she fall in love with the person who killed her again? The one who didn't look at her at all! Someone so heartless and cruel.

And after all, she was grateful to be back in a time when the engagement hadn't happened yet. When she had not given up all the things she loved. For now, she would avoid all dealings with Reegan's family, even if her parents forced her to. Yes, it was the best choice, or she would die for a second time.

Her body moved closer to Lykaios' laptop screen. His hand moved quickly, and he was already at the hacking competition of a corporate system that had just upgraded its data security defenses. Ellina smiled, her hands moving skillfully when she realized the grand prize they were offering.

$50.000

That was quite a lot. She could buy some clothes and everything she needed. With this determination, her eyes focused on the monitor screen and did not blink.

He had entered safe mode by securing all his private information. Gliding smoothly with the id name 'White Fox,' began to join the company's security area and hack into it.

"They have pretty good security. I have to work hard."

Her hands continued moving quickly, followed by numbers and codes constantly changing rapidly. Meanwhile, someone with a serious face smiled defiantly in a room at the company in City Z.

"Sir, we have a worthy opponent."

As the voice instructed, a tall, handsome young man approached. He stared at the monitor screen and smiled at the hacker match he was working on.

"White Fox. He's quite skillful. Find information on him while you're surfing,"

Not a minute after his words were said out, he could see the monitor screens of his subordinates shutting down. They were breached, not only with leaked security but also received a severe virus.

"We lost," his subordinate said quietly. "Sorry, sir,"

"Ethan!" growled the man holding back the feelings in his heart.

"I did everything I could, sir. But-"

"No! Why did we just find him? Where has he been hiding all this time! He even beat you! The best hacker in the country. White Fox, this must be something. Something very sparkly,"

Ethan was transfixed by his master's happy look. They just lost, but the master is so happy?

Help! Was he normal?

"Go get information on him when he takes his prize,"

Ethan squeaked softly. "Sir, the reward will be automatically sent to their account when they defeat us. We don't-"

"Are you stupid! Why would you do it with a system like that?"

Ethan's face held something back, doesn't realize the look her subordinates gave him. It was you who ordered it, okay. I just obeyed it. So who's the fool here?

"Forget it. We'll get him next time."

The man smiled happily and walked out of his company room. It was already midnight. And he did not expect to be this happy because of something that had awakened his soul.

"White Fox," he said softly. "I'll get you."
