Inside the classroom, not a single person wanted to leave. Alvian and Lykaios observed silently before going outside the room, which was already crowded with all the men with small gifts in their hands.
How annoying. Why are these people blocking the door?
We are well aware of her attraction, but that doesn't mean we must endure everyone's glare, okay? Since when is that woman good with technology?
It was the inner voices of Lykaios and Alvian who started complaining. Not to mention the girls in the class who stared in disgust at Ellina's indifference. She even forgot about the family gathering. It wasn't until the evening that she got up from her seat. And at the same time, everyone in the room reflexively rose to follow her.
Ellina turned her head in surprise. Frowning at the reaction of the people in her room and then at the crowd outside.
"What's going on here?"
They all want to see you, okay?!
She didn't even realize that the world was spinning at her feet!
Can't you be more aware of your surroundings? You're making them come to the IT department like a top rising artist.
Out of all that, why do we feel the discomfort it creates?
And those were the various answers to Ellina's clueless sentence. Ellina strolled with her bag on her right shoulder, passing by Alvian and Lykaios without a word, not caring if Alvian glared at her for taking his laptop away. Meanwhile, the crowd began to loosen up as if creating a path for Ellina to pass before following Ellina's steps from behind with enticing date proposals. But Ellina rejected it all.
Just as she looked down, a pair of navy-blue shoes appeared. She looked up as a familiar face greeted her.
"Ellina," the man called out in confirmation. His hand holding a phone, the video of the match between Ellina and Alvian, and all the times Ariella had stripped Ellina of her makeup on the screen.
Ellina froze. That man. Someone she loved the most in the past, too much that she wanted to die when he started dating Lexsi, her sister. She couldn't hold her hatred. She remembered that no matter how she explained, he still left her and preferred Lexsi as his lover.
Ellina hates him.
"I wasn't wrong. You really are, Ellina," Aaric said with a smile of relief. He never thought the girl before him could become so beautiful in seconds. He was even mesmerized.
"You were looking for me?" Ellina asked coldly. She remembered that in the past, this man just used her as bait to get close to Lexsi.
"Hmm," Aaric wordlessly took over Ellina's bag. "Let's go home." His hand quickly took Ellina's hand to walk.
Ellina pulled her hand away. "I'm going home alone,"
Aaric frowned. "Ell, what's wrong with you? Did you forget our anniversary? Today is our first anniversary."
Ellina looked dazed. Counting the time backward and trying to remember the events of the past. She remembered very well that Aaric did not come on this day and left her waiting on the street until late at night. When she returned home alone, she saw Lexsi and Aaric hugging, but when Ellina asked for their explanation, she got only her parent's anger because she was late to join the family meeting.
Wait, family meeting!
The word brought Ellina to her senses. She pulled her bag from Aaric's hand and moved on quickly. How could she forget that family meeting!
"Ell, Ell, what's wrong?" asked Aaric, holding Ellina's hand.
"We broke up!" Ellina said without thinking for a moment.
Aaric's face hardened. "What did you say?"
Ellina's steps slowed. Her eyes stared intently at the face in front of her. "We broke up!" she repeated clearly.
Aaric laughed wryly. "Don't joke around. We've been together for a year-"
"With Lexsi?" cut in Ellina, causing a ripple on Aaric's face. "I know everything."
"What did you say? Why Lexsi? I don't understand," asked Aaric, acting as if he was clueless. Today, his girlfriend was really strange. In fact, she looked very different. Usually, she would stick to him like glue until he felt disgusted. But today, she just tells him that they are breaking up. What kind of nonsense is this?
"There's nothing to explain. You're good with-"
"Lexsi?" cut in Aaric. "You're right! I did like her at first. But today is very different-"
"Nothing is different. I don't accept your love. I've also been blind in choosing you!"
Aaric's mouth dropped open at Ellina's honesty. Ellina's words were met with satisfied laughter and dismissive glances from every man. Aaric's face hardened. He let Ellina walk away from him. Aaric realized he had just been rejected and broken up with him when he wanted to fix everything.
Well, he would admit fifty percent of the reason for his action was because he couldn't lose such a beauty. But maybe he was sincere. If not, why does his heart feel their broke up is hard to accept? Shouldn't he feel happy because he could express her love to Lexsi freely from now on if he wasn't sincere towards Ellina?
Alvian and Lykaios, who saw it all, burst out laughing. The same laughter greeted them. Aaric gave an annoyed look and left the IT class quickly. Grumbling in embarrassment after everything that happened.
"Breaking up?" Alvian said softly. "Good! Our beauty doesn't have to be with another class idol. It would be great if it only belonged to our department."
Lykaios did not comment much. "I guess we'll have to see our class buzz all the time,"
Alvian looked around. "Why are they still here?"
