The drawings for the new home Nathan was building were on the desk in his office. For the previous month, he had been dozing off on the office couch. Being in the cabin after that first night of being apart from her was agonizing. There were echoes of her everywhere. Her belongings were scattered. Everything in there retained her aroma. Torture was used. The illusion that she was present was false. He decided to build a home. Similar to the one his parents owned in Blackwell. His father used to say that it was a true Alpha's quarters. He wanted to construct a lot more rooms.
He would then have space if he ever produced pups. His heart ached once more at the idea of puppies. He felt sick just thinking about being with anyone else but Zara. It felt unjust. She was supposed to be carrying his offspring because she was his mate. Not another wolf she. Vanilla's aroma drew him out of his thoughts. Naomi was standing in the doorway when he looked up. "Alpha, you wanted to come to see me?" Naomi has donned more provocative clothing after Zara left. She was attempting to approach Nathan to take that Luna role. An aggressive wolf, like most. She would never make a decent Luna because of this. However, a small part of him felt happy that she was present. She ensured that he wasn't left alone. On the couch, she would sit next to him. He would drink, and she would just sit there without saying anything. He was certain the other pack members believed they were sharing a bed. That was Naomi's motivation. Now, every female wished they could be her friends. He enjoyed the fact that he wasn't utterly alone. "Yes, Naomi, welcome inside, and please take a seat." His tone was standard fare. I didn't want her to have the incorrect idea even though he never entirely expelled her when she was present. He never invited her, and he never even tried to be cordial. "As you are aware, we have significantly expanded the bundle. There are several puppies present right now. Nathan's face was sporting a faint smile that he could not control. He could feel his power increasing as the pack grew. The majority of alphas take charge of or inherit an established pack. Nathan has had to build the pack since he became an Alpha. His wolf had a constant sense of having to justify himself. "The schoolhouse must be open for business. It seemed to me that you would be competent at this assignment. Perhaps make some calls to local packs to get supplies? She gave a jerky head nod. Nathan grinned involuntarily. This naive young woman believed she was being honored. In reality, he was merely letting her handle his grubby task. Nathan and Brent argued over who should do it; sadly, Brent is dishonest. "Alpha, I'll get on it right away." She practically floated out of his office after that. A HOURS' WORTH OF Confirming the construction plans for new packhouses and transfers. He pondered whether Zara would be satisfied with his achievements. She was putting the bundle together so it could work. After a week of moping about, Brent finally woke him up. Not just him but others also lost someone. Brent also lost his daughter. It wasn't right that he was left to clean up the mess. He shared a job with Brent. Keeping active would help them forget about her. Brent was convinced that there was something we were unaware of after that evening. To conduct an autopsy, they sent Jenna's body to Blackwell. They needed to determine what caused her chest hole. No physical indication of a weapon was present. Additionally, Jenna and Zara were wise enough to avoid attacking someone. But nothing made sense. His phone beeped, jolting him out of his reverie. The pathologist from Blackwell was on the way with Jenna's body, and Brent was letting him know. Then, at last, they could lay her soul to rest. He and Brent were awaiting on his office's porch. The dark SUV entered the clearing by pulling up. Athena jumped out, shocking them both. "Hey guys, you missed me?" Nathan turned to face Brent, his eyes widening. Who is Zara?" It's never easy to lose a buddy, so I want to see how she is doing. Nathan fixed a glare on Brent. He realized that Athena was never informed. Nathan wasn't sure who she would want to murder first. Alternatively, who should be the one to inform her that her daughter has been labeled a rogue? "Athena, I think we need to talk," Brent spoke gently, comfortingly. The doctor tells you that your family didn't survive. Athena lowered her head. The question, "Where is she?" Athena fiercely scanned the area while inhaling deeply. Nathan scolded, "Zara is a rogue. Athena approached Nathan and prepared to punch him. Her eyes were beaming with rage. Brent caught her despite knowing it would have been fatal. The age is 23 years! I protected her in this world for 23 years! For two months, you were her owner. She screamed-the grief of a mother for her kid. Brent gently stated, "Let us explain. We're going to figure this out. He cradled Athena close to his chest and stroked her hair. Nathan had never before witnessed Athena sobbing. She is always a woman of steel who leaves her feelings at home. Yet there she was, her face covered in silent weeping. The pathologist rose to speak. "I hate to end this reunion, but the outcomes." To give them some privacy, Nathan ushered the diminutive, short man inside his office. He placed the folder on Nathan's desk while holding it up and opened it. The only thing we can think of as having caused this is magic. However, we haven't come across magic like this before. Nathan and Brent both swallowed hard. "You're certain?" The pathologist gave a headshake. "Positive. No evidence of anything was found when we checked the skin around the wound: no metal or plastic particles or gunpowder. We were perplexed. Witches who came to check it out and certify magic were invited. Nathan experienced dizziness. Magic? Why didn't she say anything if it was magic? Why did she allow him to label her a rebel? "Nathan?" The pathologist looked at him. "Anyone who employed the magic. Utilized extremely potent evil magic. He must be eliminated. That kind of power is hazardous. Nathan was brought out, but he didn't want to go into detail. Whether he was the one, he might have been collaborating with someone who fled. "Brent, Cole Baker has to be thoroughly investigated. I'm curious about everything about him. "I'll get to it right now! I'll have Lorenzo break into the database of his law firm as well. As a result, Brent was off. "Athena I'll keep you informed of our findings. Athena scowled at him. She was aware that this wasn't her place. Even though this wasn't her pack, he was the Alpha here. Blackwell might interpret any act of hostility as an act of war. As though the pathologist could see her brain working. "Athena, I believe it's time to go home. We assured Alpha that we wouldn't be away for too long. Without objecting, she let him drag her back to the SUV. Till she was inside, she did not stop. "Good day, Alpha." Nathan waved goodbye with a nod.
