I couldn't sleep, the clock was 4 a.m., so I decided to go outside for a bit and get some fresh air. I put on a warm coat and walked slowly down the stairs of my apartment, this all sucked and I didn't know how to deal with it, the first thing I had to think of now was a nightclub where I should work, I admit there weren't many nightclubs as good as the one I was in, most were run by ridiculous pimps who charged abusive percentages and still wanted to take advantage of the product. Jhon was the owner of the nightclub where I used to work, an openly gay man who wanted nothing more than money and peace.
Outside I looked at the street, there was no one, I looked at the sky and saw that it was totally clear with no clouds, just stars and the moon shining brightly, it was a nice night. When I looked at the street again I saw a man approaching I thought that a man walking down the street at this time of night could only be looking for trouble and I decided to go inside before I even started walking towards the door I heard the man calling for Violett, I recognized Anthony's voice in the darkness and turned back to him still scared.
"Anthony?"
"Yes, it's me."
"What the hell are you doing here at this time of night?"
"Well, I already knew where you lived, after I got kicked out I thought I'd wait for you here but when you arrived you came in so quickly that I thought I'd wait until you left in the morning so we could talk."
"You already knew where I lived? Were you following me?"
"I'll admit that I was, but I don't want you to think I'm some kind of weirdo or something."
"How can I not think of you like that?"
"In my defense, I wasn't the one following you. I paid people to do it."
"That doesn't help at all. Who the hell are you anyway?"
"I'm just a broken-hearted man."
"What?"
"I'm heartbroken because the woman I love doesn't want me."
Crazy. Anthony could only be described as a completely mad man, I didn't know what he wanted with this, but just knowing that he had paid people to follow me made me terribly scared. He was certainly a man with a lot of money and no mental health.
"Leave now."
"Please, just listen to what I have to say. That's all I'm asking."
"I can't work in the nightclub anymore because of you, do you realize how difficult it is for me to find a good nightclub? That alone would give me the right to never look at your face again."
"Please."
The pleading look on his face resembled that of a sad child, it was strange, but I had to admit that it was something that moved me.
"Make it short."
"I want you to come with me, it won't be anything weird like a kidnapping or a human trafficking system. I'm the CEO of a successful company, I can take care of you, give you the life you've always dreamed of, all you have to do is be mine."
"You really expect me to believe that? And what's the big deal about me being yours?"
"I'm Anthony Desmunt, you can look me up if you like, I can come back tomorrow to get your answer, but please, I ask you to think about this with care. Don't think of me as just another client, but as a man who is begging you to reciprocate his feelings."
I wanted him to leave right now, but if I kicked him out I wouldn't have any peace for the rest of the night.
"All right, come back tomorrow afternoon. Now please come home."
"Just one more thing."
He moved closer to me and kissed me again, his hands on my waist holding it tightly, the warmth of his body, the softness and taste of his lips, it was something I would never admit, but I was becoming dangerously addicted to it. This man was strange, crazy, inconsequential and out of control, but there was something about him that kept me hooked.
After our kiss ended he left, I watched him walk down the street and get into a luxury black car, I hadn't even noticed that damn car there until now, I felt naive for that. I went into my house quickly and wanted to sleep, but if I hadn't been able to before, I couldn't now after meeting that man.
I remembered what he had told me, I looked up his name and was shocked by what came up, there was a photo with a description of his company, an international multi-millionaire. How did a man like that end up in a nightclub like the one I worked in? On top of that, he could have any woman he wanted, he was coming all the way to a suburb in the city center just to meet me.
This was madness, it was nothing but madness, it didn't make any sense and I couldn't understand how I ended up in the middle of this situation. I lay on my bed, I couldn't believe what was happening, even after seeing it with my own eyes and I wouldn't even consider the idea of going with him to an unknown place, even if I had nothing left to lose, I still had my life, it was totally against my principles to accept a man controlling my life for money. I really had to think about it, about the possibility of it happening, about the possibility of me being crazy enough to accept it.
