Chapter 4 LILY

CHAPTER 4

ALEXANDER'S POV

"I am very sorry," she apologized, dipping her hand at that instant into her pockets as she brought out a handkerchief and had helped him wipe off the coffee from his white shirt. She had cleaned it up with her hands, slowly mopping off every hint of the brown coffee on his shirt.

"It doesn't mean anything, you can leave it, mate." I said with a laid amount of emphasis laced on the word, 'Mate', her eyes had lit up with a dark gathering as she stopped and ran off- far away from my view, into the door. A smile rigged its way on my cheeks as the edges of my lips deepened, he had made her understand that she was his mate. And his goal had been achieved.

But the thing that had shocked me the most was that of her reaction to the mate bond with me. She looked marveled and we somewhat feared. I had expected her to speak back to him after his speech, I sat down more comfortably on the chair and waited for her to come out again for a delivery for the orders of the customer. I looked over and searched with my eyes if I could see the maid I had paid to help me bring the lily out, so I can see her one more time.

My eyes had squinted as I spotted the maid from afar as I rose from my chair and walked over to her as I tapped her shoulders and she turned over to me. "Hello umm miss" I called and as she turned immediately after feeling my touch.

She turned to me and spoke in a serious tone, "ooh hey there." she waved at me as I smiled. "Can you help me get lily out of the kitchen again, please?" I said slowly with hopes of getting lily out of the Kitchen. Now I was ready, ready to voice out my emotions before Lily, now, I would make her understand that I loved her and the fact that she was my mate in front of everyone in this coffee shop.

"Of course, but what will I get." she said with a smack of her lips.

"You'll get a chip of gold, but that will be after I've seen and spoken with Lily." I said. She sighed and walked off in the direction of the kitchen door, she closed the door. Now I waited with hopes, my love for Lily had come suddenly and had hit me unexpectedly. Just yesterday, I had met with her, and today I had fallen head over hills with Lily. The kitchen door opened again as the lady leapt out with her face devoid of emotions, she walked up to my table and stopped.

My heart thumped twice as fast as I anticipated her speech, she drew some air in as she finally spoke out, "Lily seemed very hard to control, but I had made her to go clean the trash at the back of the shop, so you can go meet her there and the two of you will talk more freely since Mr. Clark won't be able to see you guys."

A smile rigged on my face as I stood up from the wooden chair I was sitting on and walked towards the exit of the shop. I strutted with anticipation and seriousness, my attention only seemed to be on getting out of the shop and meeting with her. I arrived at the crowd of people at the entrance, I pushed away a man who blocked my way as I shouted, "Go blind your father, idiot."

I wanted to stop and at least give the man a reason to cry, my father was the lycan king who was highly revered. If he knew, he would have gone on his knees to beg for forgiveness, but he didn't. I walked up to the man with anger as I gripped the collars of his shirt roughly as a placed a slap across his vacuous face as he cried out in pain.

"My father is not something to be insulted by an uncultured man like you." I smirked coldly as I dropped the man's collars and had glided off in the direction of the back of the shop. From afar, I could smell the choking odors of the junk, I covered my nose to prevent harmful gases from entering my nose. I peeped behind the rough surface of the wall, Lily was cleaning the junk with a cute look; however, she looked like someone who was drained in thoughts.

What was she thinking?

I tried to ponder on the question and I found out relative answers to the question, she was probably thinking of how and why she had been mated to me, a stranger. She would be shocked, and still would not be able to digest the entire mate bond of a thing. I stepped out from behind the wall, and her gaze darted in my direction. She staggered back as she fell through the iron lid of the trash can which made a noise. My wolf howled with happiness as I glided further towards her.

"Get away from me." she cried out as she tried pushing me away. I dodged her aim and tapped her shoulders, starting, "Lily you cannot hide the fact that I am your mate, I know you know, we both know that we are fated mates so why are you trying to push me away?"

"I am not your mate and will never be, there must have been a mistake in the whole mate bond of a thing, I don't even know you." she spoke with a charming tone. I smiled staring back at this charming beauty ago was my mate, her beauty had charmed my sense of reasoning. I stretched my hand and felt her chin as she wiped off my hands.

"I love you Lily." the words flew out of my mouth as lily's expression darkened, she now looked in shock at my words. The shock in lily's expression soon wafted away as she took some steps backwards and ran back in the direction of the back door which led to the kitchen. I ran after her, but she had jammed the door even before I could try to get in.

LILY'S POV

I exhaled with a cloud of sweats on my forehead, I wiped it off and tried to control my panting as I felt my heart thumping wildly in my chest.

"What happened? You look like someone who has been chased by bandits." A masculine voice bawled as I wiped the strands of my hair that were blocking my view, my gaze flickered over to my boss, Mr. Clark.

"Nothing." I lied with the truth on my face. I failed woefully in hiding the hints of lies in my eyes.

"I don't even care!" The man rounded off with an annoyed tone. He turned to me and said, "Get out of my coffee shop, I am closing soon."

"Ok sir." I said as I reached over to a side in this messy kitchen and took my purse as I walked out of the kitchen. I went out of the coffee shop and found Marinette, my fellow worker in the shop, who was also coming out. As we walked, my mind drifted back to that stranger who had called himself my mate.

I knew he was my mate, but I was not ready for this kind of thing, I still felt feelings for Gary, and I was not ready to let go of them.

"What happened Lily? You look deplorable today." Marinette who had been watching me, broke the silence between the two of us.

"Nothing." I lied.

"It is obvious that you are lying Lily, you can tell me anything remember," she caught my lie as I sighed deeply and began to tell her all about how Sarah had advised me to tell Gary my love for him and how he had introduced me to Nina, his mate and how I met the stranger.

"I don't even love him, he is a stranger, I curse the moon goddess for giving such a mate." I said, voicing out my thoughts.

"Ugh Lily?" I heard a masculine voice from behind me as I turned back and saw my mate looking offended.

At that point, my heart sank.
