Chapter 5 Alphas are allowed to we are not

It was Selene and her friends' second year in Europe, the first one passed pretty fast and they went for summer to visit their families but not for long because leaving Italy in the summer was a sin, they were happy to enjoy the beautiful weather and beaches.

They were just lounging on lounge chairs on the beach near their center, they were lucky that they were allowed to stay over the summer break.

"Hey, I was thinking the other day," Selene said, making her friends look at her and then he continued: "Are you gonna leave to live in the capital sooner? I mean, Evan and Luke are older than Tristan, they will be done with their studies earlier than him so you could actually move in with them in a while."

"Mm, I've never thought about it," Amelia hummed. Luke was the oldest of the three alphas so Amelia could logically join her mate in two years or so."

"This whole thing is primarily about you though, I personally think we will wait for you," Sandra pointed out to Cathrine.

"I am honestly not in a hurry, I'd rather wait for you so all three of us would move at the same time," Amelia shrugged: "It's up to our parents though, we have to do whatever they decide."

"I just can't wait, why did they introduce us so early, now I have to wait for years!" Selene whines.

"You seem a bit too excited about mating with Tristan," Sandra pointed out. "Of course I am, he is a great catch, the best one in the country!"

"Yeah, yeah, I know, I am not talking about that though, you did win with Tristan, no doubt, you are gonna become the most powerful omega in the country once Tristan takes over his and ours pack but that's not everything, you know," Sandra sighed: "Just because Tristan is a catch doesn't mean you are gonna be happy with him."

"You asked Evan, he texted you that Luke and Tristan are nice too though," Selene Frowned. She and Amelia made the oldest omega ask her future mate about Luke and Tristan one evening when they were texting, they wanted to know what they were like and Evan reassured them that they were well-mannered and nice.

"Well, first of all, they are his best friends, he could have lied, he wouldn't tell us if they were assholes," Sandra snorted: "And second, just because Tristan is nice doesn't mean your relationship is gonna be straight up from a fairytale."

"Sandy is right, Sunny, we are not saying this to ruin it for you, we just want you to be careful," Amelia jumped in.

"Even if Tristan was the nicest alpha alive, there are different ways that might hurt you like if you fall for him and he won't," Sandra said the unpleasant truth. Selene rationally knew she was right but she refused to think about it.

"It just seems like you are painting your future so beautifully and in many ways, it can really be beautiful, you are gonna live in a beautiful house, be the mate of the most powerful leader, and have beautiful babies with him but...let's be honest here, we know how most of the arranged marriages are, it's usually a formality and the mates don't even love each other," Sandra continued.

"So you don't believe you and Evan will fall in love? Are you okay with you just living next to each other for the rest of your lives?" Selene retorted.

"Of course not, I am hoping we will fall in love, I think everyone wants that but I am aware of the fact that it might never happen and you should be too," she looked at the younger friend sympathetically. Selene has always been a dreamer, always believing in true love, and perfect marriage and she has always tried her hardest to be the perfect omega, and her friends were worried it might get her hurt one day.

"I just believe we can have that, okay? I know it sounds stupid since we met only twice but...I don't know, I just felt it and I think he did too," Selene mumbled.

"Let's just not talk about it," Amelia ended the conversation, not wanting to bring Selene's spirit down. She was worried about her too but at the same time, she was happy her best friend was so positive, not every omega was happy about who they were promised to so this fact itself was a big win.

"Yeah, let's just ogle some guys," Sandra clapped, changing the topic, eyes roaming over the beach, landing on a tanned alpha in his twenties: "Now this is the view I signed up for, I wouldn't mind going out with this cutie."

"Sandy, you are promised to another!" Selene gasped.

"That doesn't mean I can't look or dream, does it?" the oldest retorted. Sandra and Amelia were more free-spirited than Selene and than most omegas in general.

"It's so unfair that we can't date though," Amelia grumbled: "Like why? Alphas can do whatever they want with omegas of low ranks and no one cares but we have to stay untouched for our future mates, what bullshit, that's discrimination."

"If you haven't noticed, there's lots of discrimination towards omegas, alphas can do anything and we have so many rules, especially if born in an important family like us," Sandra sighed.

It was true, omegas of important families were not allowed to have any physical relations with anyone but their promised mate, they didn't have to wait for the wedding but they could only give their bodies to their future mates, they had to be virgins, non-virgins were considered used and dirty and no decent alpha wanted them. Omegas were coming from low families of the packs on whom these rules didn't apply, the opposite actually, alphas were usually having their fun with them, not only the single ones but married ones too. When an alpha was seeing someone for sex, it wasn't considered cheating on his mate but omegas weren't allowed to do that. Alphas have a monopoly over cheating. Even if the alpha and omega were quite happy and had kids, it wasn't unusual for the alpha to seek the company of not only his spouse but also other omegas.

"Getting experience would be good for our mates though, I mean, if we learned how to do stuff and how to please them, it would be a win for them," Amelia snickered.

"True, instead we only learn from instructional videos," Sandra snorted. They did learn from videos, usually very graphic ones, it was very detailed sex education, focused on omegas pleasing their mates in any way possible. They have seen tons of those videos but that didn't make up for the real thing.

Selene did not join their conversation. She wasn't a prude and she actually wanted to know what sex felt like, she did have heats but unmated omegas went through them alone, although they had a wide range of toys to use, so they weren't complete strangers to sex but she didn't mind saving her innocence for her future mate. Her mother taught her that it wasn't important if sex was pleasurable for the omega, it was always about the alpha and most alphas weren't really trying to please their lovers, they just cared about their own release and omegas should be ready to please their mate anytime they wanted, the only purpose beside pleasuring the alpha was breeding to have children.

Selene wondered what Tristan was doing right now, it was going to be his birthday soon, the alpha was turning twenty. In her head, she still remembered him from their last meeting but she knew he surely resembled more a man now than a kid. She could not wait to see him.
