Chapter 7 Involved with the CEO and the Gangster

Robert continued standing, staring at Adele. He had never forced a woman into anything and wouldn't with her.

"Is this?" he asked while looking at the hundred dollars, laughing loudly. "I'll take it back, to allow you to feel honest and honorable, even if it's not necessary. I enjoyed being with you, but I realize you didn't enjoy it as much as I did," he said, closing the distance between them even more, closing the small gap they had with his body, while observing Adele's face turning red, her eyes shining with curiosity about what would happen next. "But I'll say goodbye like this." Robert approached her completely, pulling her by the neck and kissing her, receiving an immediate response.

Adele believed the time for revenge had passed; at the moment, she feared the consequences of being involved with Robert. However, she admitted to herself that Robert was an attractive, seductive, and skilled lover, better than Heitor. But this wasn't the right time to get involved.

"It's not the right time," Adele replied as they paused the kiss to catch their breath. "Maybe if I had met you before everything happened."

"I don't care about your past. We can build a future from here on out. I'm willing to protect you, to take care of you."

"But I'm not interested, sorry. I want to walk on my own legs."

Adele slowly lowered her head, moved away from him, and left the nursing room, heading towards the airport reception. She didn't have the courage to look back, deciding to live her life in another country, far from everything that had shaken her.

Months passed gracefully, and Adele continued happily with the contracts she had been securing. She felt like she was entering a new segment of the fashion market, excited about the opportunities and the lifestyle she had adopted.

After a photoshoot with her security guards and a friend, Adele was surprised by numerous reporters who photographed and filmed her without permission, posting everything on social media. The news about the highest-paid model of the moment revealed her pregnancy, which she had been keeping hidden during the photoshoots, intending to have a calm pregnancy away from Heitor. This news became a worldwide sensation.

Everyone entered the restaurant to eat, as usual. No one had checked social media or discussed the worldwide explosion of news.

"What's happening?" her friend asked, astonished, as she opened her social media. She turned her phone toward Adele, showing her what she was seeing. "They've revealed your pregnancy. These vultures are after information about the baby. Your secret is all over the news."

With a racing heart and a mind overwhelmed by the sudden and unwanted news, Adele felt completely exposed. The pregnancy she had tried to keep secret had been revealed to the world unexpectedly and invasively. She feared not only for her privacy but also for the potential implications this might have concerning Heitor.

"She's pregnant with my child," Heitor celebrated. "I'll have Adele back with me. Try to contact her, find out where she's living, rent a helicopter, and take me there as fast as possible," he ordered with a smile. "I'll be a father. I don't want to spend another day away from her. Let's go get my woman."

All the men obeyed, trying to establish contact with her as quickly as possible. Although Adele knew how to hide, it was impossible to stay out of the mafia's sight, and within two hours, they had a new contact for her. They found the location of the house Adele was living in, an old farmhouse in a remote and hidden area, carefully chosen to avoid attention and discovery. They sought a helicopter to take Heitor to her without being detected by the authorities, creating a bustling commotion in his mansion. Most of the staff hoped that Adele would forgive Heitor and return to him.

Heitor didn't wait for another day; he decided to call her on the way, planning to surprise her in Paris.
