Chapter 8 I don't have a girlfriend...

FLASHBACK

Allison quickly dropped the empty can of beer she was holding on the table in front of her. She's now on the terrace of her condo unit. She has been drinking for a few minutes now, so she can feel her world spinning in drunkenness.

The last drop she drank was from the last beer in the plastic bag she bought at the convenience store, so Allison thought about getting up and sleeping inside. She's leaving for Coron in one day.

And before getting inside her unit, she thought of calling Troy.

The alcohol in her body already brought her courage, so she didn't think twice about taking her cell phone from her pocket. Even though she was still a little tired, Allison insisted on going straight to her bed while looking for Troy's phone number in her contacts.

She was sitting on the edge of her bed while hearing the rings on the other line.

Since Allison and Troy broke up, and after her stupid moments of calling him repeatedly and texting him for almost days, this is the very first time again. Now, she was calling Troy again after a few weeks, and Allison assured herself that this was the last time.

Allison was annoyed when Troy didn't answer her call for a long time; it was ringing on the other line. She thought it would end, but after a few more seconds, the call activated, and that's when she yelled!

"HEY Troy Scot! It's good that you answered my call!" She felt her courage build up because of the amount of alcohol she drank. "Ha! You are an asshole! You didn't even call and text me to let me know your reason! You just left me with fucking concrete reason why. Ohh, well, I don't need your excuse now! And don't worry; I won't chase or bother you anymore."

Right! I'm not chasing him! Did he think that I would pursue him? Wow! That's not going to happen. He broke up with me, so I don't believe it's my fault.

"'I just want to let you know that when I return, I'll make sure I've moved on with you already. And when that day comes, I will never come back to you. Even you begged me! Remember that, you idiot!" And Allison pressed the end call.

I don't know if he didn't intend to speak or if I was the only one who didn't give him a chance to say, but I don't care now, because the important thing is that I told him my thoughts and I know that he heard it.

Did he think he was the only guy in this whole world?

Well, whether he chases me or not- I'll make sure that when I return from Coron Palawan, I've moved on. I will do everything so that I don't remember him anymore! If I have to flirt with the boys there, I will!

Allison just threw her phone on her bed before she finally lay down. She drank so much that she fell asleep right away.

END OF FLASHBACK

"Damn! I was the one who called Troy last night. Ugh! I hate myself!" Allison ranted.

"What? Hays! That's why I always put my phone away when I get drunk because I might make a drunk call...." Shanell said. "But just let it go, girl. You two don't see each other anymore. You'll forget about that too, and maybe, he no longer cares about what you did," Shanell added as if it was not a big deal.

"That hurts. You're so frank, and it's like you're saying Troy no longer cares about me. We were in a relationship for a year and haven't been apart for a month."

"Oww. Don't tell me you still hope that you two will get back together?" Shanell immediately interrupted what Allison said and was stunned because of that. I don't know if I should answer this question because I don't want to embarrass myself if I tell the truth that I hope we get back together.

"Hey girl, forget what I told you last time that maybe he's just confused right now, and he needs time for himself because I've proven that that's not the case. So, don't get your hopes up and just find someone new. There's so much fish on the ocean."

Allison took a deep breath and chose not to speak.

Even though I want Troy and me to get back together, it doesn't make sense if he doesn't want to get back together with me.

River can't help but throw a gaze at Troy every minute or even seconds because he's been acting weird since they left their house. They slept at their parent's house because that was their last day together since River was leaving tomorrow to go to Coron Palawan, while Troy was also leaving the next day for his flight to Europe.

So back to Troy being weird. He keeps checking his phone every second, waiting for someone to call or text him. He almost ignored the sales lady in front of them at the mall. They are both buying a new suitcase for their trips.

When the saleslady left to find the suitcase Troy was asking for, River saw an opportunity to ask his brother. River faces Troy, and it seems he doesn't even notice how he has been staring at him for a while now.

"Do you have a girlfriend?" River asked him directly, so he immediately got his attention.

Troy looked at River quickly, and he even noticed that his eyes widened slightly as if something was wrong with his question or if he had caught him in a sin.

"W-what? What do you mean?" Troy asked, and just then, he slowly put down the cell phone he was holding and put it in his pocket.

"I am asking you if you have a girlfriend?" River repeated his question.

"What made you say that?"

"Nothing. It's just like you broke up with your girlfriend, but you're waiting for her to text or call you so you can withdraw the break-up thing," River explained.

He stared at Troy and saw that he didn't react to what he said as if what he said was right.

"So, do you have a girlfriend?" River asked again because he was confused by his actions. Besides, this is also a way for him to know if he has a girlfriend because he never shared such things with him.

Troy just made a feigned laugh and pushed him lightly on his shoulder.

"Of course not. I don't have a girlfriend and... and I don't have time for that," Troy answered. "And you are aware how busy I am with Dad's company, right? Having a girlfriend is just a waste of time."
