Chapter 6 Drunk call

Troy's chest was pounding so hard. He had been waiting for that call for a long time, so he hurried to say goodbye at the dining table to answer it. Even though he had no intention of speaking, he still wanted to hear that woman's voice, so he finally answered the call.

Even before he put the cell phone to his ear, he heard a loud shout on the other line.

"HEY, Troy Scot!" He misses that voice. "Good thing you answered my call! Huh!"

The young woman spoke emphatically, and Troy knew that the woman was drunk. He was shocked when he discovered that because he had never seen her get drunk like that. But he knew he was the reason for her being like that, so he could not question the woman.

He couldn't speak, but he just accepted everything she said because he knew he was really the one who was wrong between them. He can't blame anyone but himself.

"Ha! You are really an asshole! You didn't even call and text me to let me know your reason! You just left me with fucking concrete reason why!" Troy can hear how mad she is on the other line.

'Ohh well, I don't need your excuse now! And don't worry, I'm not going to chase you or bother you anymore.'

He knew that the girl was in pain because he knew the tone of her voice whenever she was hurt and angry. They have been together for almost a year, and even though he doesn't show his feelings for her boldly, he knows his love for Allison is enough.

'I just want to let you know that when I return, I'll make sure I've moved on with you already. And when that day comes, I will never come back to you. Even you begged me! Remember that, you idiot! '

And the call died.

Troy was stunned hearing her last remarks. He swallowed hard before slowly removing his cell phone from his ear and staring at it.

He didn't know why he seemed scared and hurt by what Allison said. He fears Allison might come to the point where she can move on from him. If Troy is the one to choose, he doesn't want to break up with Allison, but that's not what happened. He needs to because of his job.

ONE WEEK AGO

"You will be my representative next week to go to Europe. You are the only one I can count on when it comes to our business internationally," his father said when they had a meeting together. The two of them are currently eating at a fancy restaurant for lunch.

Troy stopped at what he heard because he did not know that matter.

"What?"

The old man stopped cutting his steak and then looked at his son.

"We're about to launch a new vacuum cleaner, aren't we? And Europe is the first country that the board of members and directors agreed to introduce our new appliances. They were the ones who rated our company the highest last year, so it would be better if we start launching there. That will be our advantage, so we have to take the opportunity. That's a brilliant strategy, right?"

Troy was unable to speak and react immediately. He was thinking about his girlfriend, Allison.

"That's why I thought I should send you to Europe instead of entrusting our big launch to our staff there. You're also running for the next COO, right? So this is a good opportunity for you. When it comes to you, I'm really confident that you will succeed in this. Besides, you just need to be there for almost a month. 2 to 3 weeks, to be exact. You can do it, Troy." And his father, Herman, smiled before he started eating again.

Troy nodded slightly in agreement and continued eating even though he had something else on his mind then.

He didn't know how to tell Allison that he had to leave and would take him a long time to return.

As he drove to Allison's unit, he only thought of one thing to do or say to her. Both of them are incapable of a long-distance relationship; they always say that to each other. Even though they rarely see each other, they still have time to make up for the times they are not together.

He doesn't want a long-distance relationship, and Allison does the same, so he has no choice but to break up with the girl.

Troy just wanted to cool off with Allison, but at the last minute, he thought he would be busy getting the trust of the board of directors to choose him to be the next COO. He knew he couldn't combine having a relationship with Allison and his beloved job at the same time, so even though breaking up with her was against his heart, he did it.

"I can't have a relationship with you anymore," he said as he turned his back on Allison. He couldn't face her, especially when he was against his decision. "Let's break up," he added, and that was the last thing he said before he left the girl's unit.

He didn't want to regret his decision, so he tried avoiding Allison's messages and calls for weeks.

But after hearing what Allison said to him tonight while she was drunk... Troy seems to want to regret his breakup, especially since he intends to win Allison's heart back again after returning to the Philippines from Europe. He now fears that Allison moved on from him while he was gone.

I don't want that to happen. I love her! I really love her; she's the only woman who always understands me. I know it sounds selfish, but I hope she can't move on yet. I would win her back if I returned. I just need three weeks, and I'll be back. I hope she understands once I explain to her why I did that, why I broke up with her. When she agrees to get back together, I will never let her go again, and I promise that.
