Chapter 7 WHAT THE F-

Allison woke up the next day to a series of doorbells and knocks coming from outside her door. Her phone rang at the same time, which is why she was forced to get up from her bed even though her head hurt a little.

Oh, God! Who is that? It's freaking early morning!

Allison couldn't help but complain as she reached for her still-ringing phone lying on her bed. She saw Shanell's name on the screen, which made her frown.

What the?! What's her problem, and she's calling me this early?

She finally answered the phone call and started to get up from the bed to open the door to see who it was.

"Hello? What's your problem?"

'Hey! Allison Gregorio! Thank God you answered! I've been knocking on your door for ages now. I thought you had committed suicide because you were so heartbroken!' Shanell said on the other line.

Oh. So, Shanell's also the one knocking outside. Tsk.

"Fine! I'll open it for you, wait a minute," Allison answered, then ended the call. She went straight outside and opened the door for her friend.

Allison's brow furrowed immediately when Shanell smiled at her widely.

"Good morning!" Shanell greeted her before she walked inside her unit, even though Allison hadn't enticed her to come in yet. She just let out another breath before she completely closed the door.

"I've been knocking outside you for a while now. I'm worried about you. I thought you were so depressed." Shanell said and went straight to her kitchen, so she reluctantly followed him.

"You didn't say that you were visiting me now. Also, what are you doing here?"

Allison was still looking directly at Shanell while her friend was busy opening her cabinets as if she was looking for something.

"Well, I just think that you need my accompany. Especially now that you seemed very lonely."

"Lonely? I'm not. And what are you doing? You opened all my cabinets, even my refrigerator. Are you looking for food? Are you hungry?"

And because Shanell opened her cabinets, she saw the two plates placed inside. It's Troy's. Sometimes Troy eats there too. Hays.

Should I break those?

It would be a shame if I did that, wouldn't it?

Shanell faced her after some minutes. Their eyes met right away, and Allison noticed something in her friend's look.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

Shanell didn't speak right away, and she stuck the end with her two index fingers as if she was acting cute.

"Ahmm. I thought you would be gone for almost a week here in Manila because you're going to Palawan."

"And so?"

"Can I stay here while you're gone?"

"What? Why?" Allison frowned.

"So that you're rent won't be wasted. And I'm checking to see if you can leave some food when you're away."

Allison automatically raised an eyebrow at Shanell because of what she said.

"And who said that I will allow you? You have your unit, so go home, okay? Don't bother me."

Shanell halted in front of her.

"Awww. And why are you like that to me, girl?" Shanell asked dramatically. "I didn't open the door for you when you needed sympathy. Do you already forget how I comforted you? That was just one day ago. I am your only friend here. Hello? Won't you even help me?"

Allison shook her head. "I'm just kidding. You are overreacting. Go on! It's not a thing to me. If you want, we can live here together."

"Oh, my God! You're a true friend! And because of that... let's go shopping now. I'll treat you." Shanell clung to Allison's arm. "I'll buy you swimsuits for your Coron trip so it will be easy for you to get attention from boys there. So get dressed now! Hurry up!"

Shanell said and pulled Allison to her room.

While Allison was busy getting dressed, her friend roamed around her room.

"What is that? Why it's so messy here? Do you drink last night?" Allison saw what Shanell was referring to, and that was those: empty canned beers scattered on the floor of her bedroom.

"Yeah. A little bit. I just couldn't sleep last night."

"Oh. Being heartbroken is scary. Look at yourself; you are being alcoholic."

Allison rolled her eyes since Shanell sounded sarcastic. "Shut up!"

FAST FORWARD

"You don't need to treat me, Shanell," Allison said to her friend as she drove beside her.

They are now both heading to the mall.

"Don't be so polite, girl. Just take this as your 'GOOD LUCK GIFT."

"You are being so optimistic about me finding a guy on Coron, huh."

"Well, yes, because it's not impossible to happen. Duh!" Allison just shook her head while smiling slightly.

"Whatever." Allison didn't say anything anymore and took out her phone to call her mother.

She wondered if her mother had already received the money she sent yesterday because they didn't even text or call her. She will also remind her mother that she is leaving tomorrow for her trip.

Allison looked for her mother's phone number in her contacts and dialed it. But she can't help but frown because the monitor suddenly reminded her that she already uses all her balance to make a call.

"Huh? Why can't I make a call?" Allison couldn't help but frown as she slowly removed her phone from her ear.

"Why? Who are you calling?" Shanell asked.

"My mom. I remember that I still have a regular load to call her. Why did it run out!"

"Maybe you called someone last night." After Shanell said that, Allison quickly went to her call log to see if she had called anyone.

"WHAT?! WHAT THE FUCK!" Allison shouted quickly, and her eyes widened when she saw Troy's name in the call history.

"Why? What happened? Why are you shouting?" Shanell immediately asked her, but she couldn't pay attention because she gradually remembered what had happened last night.

What did I do? Fuck!
