Mehak's pov

The light fell on pihu mam and she fainted because it fell on her head. Blood is oozing out of her head.

Everyone rushed towards her including me.

"we have to take her hospital," kiaan sir screamed as he picked her up in bridal style

With him, the director sir also went to the hospital.

It's not the first time that this kind of accident happened in the middle of the shooting but this time it's really risky as Pihu mam was drunk.

God please save her...

"today's shooting is wrapped up, you all can go," our assistant director sir said and we all packed our things and left

I have a lot of time before my shift starts in the hotel so I can go home. And take rest..

I went and saw my brother was still studying.

His exams are coming up soon, that's why he is working hard.

"Hey manu," I said and he got startled

"What are you doing here? I mean, aren't you supposed to be shooting?" he asked me..

"Yes but the heroine met with an accident that's why our shoot got wrapped up early." I told him and he nodded in understanding

"will you cook something? Actually ma was in a hurry so she didn't cook anything for me. She asked me to make Maggi and eat," he said

"Ohk tell what do you want to eat?" I asked him

It's not like I cook frequently because I don't get time too so whenever I cook I try to make something good.

"jeera rice and paneer curry?" he asked me

"think it's done." I said and checked the fridge and to my luck paneer is available if not then I have to go and buy it from the market.

I decided to freshen up then start cooking.

I wore my cotton shorts and t-shirt and tied my hair in a messy bun.

Once done I go in the open kitchen that is a part of the hall...

I cooked the items a little bit extra so ma can have it after coming back.

"wow di the smell is awesome," manik said as he came near

"I have cook it obviously it will be good," I told him with a smirk

"Yes my di is best in every work," he said

"OK so food is done come we will eat," I told him and he nodded

We sat in the hall in Indian style on the ground.

I served him first then myself.

"Do you know Rahul got a new phone, his father gave him even before exams but didn't give him a sim card. He will give sim card after our exams. He show us yesterday when he came in tuition . Its soo cool. The camera quality is so good." manik said while I stopped eating

" Manu do you want a phone? "I asked him

I never thought about it. He is a teenager and all his friends will have phones sooner or later.

I am myself using a keypad phone but that doesn't mean I will not buy him a phone.

" no di not at all. I just told you. I don't need It. It just distracts you from your studies. You will see in next exam Rahul won't result good. Because he will struck in phone only." he said seriously

"and moreover I don't have time for this phone thing. I will work In some shop during my holidays and earn with that earning I will buy a keypad phone for essential use and the rest will be for my admission. I have to study hard. If I won't then how will I be able to give ma and you a good life? Ma is getting old she needs rest and you also do two jobs. You have to get married as well how long you will bear everything for us? So I have to study hard and work beside it as well. "He added when I didn't responded

I was staring at my brother in pure shock.

He is thinking about our daily expenses and work from now only. He is only 15. He should not think about it and only study.

My baby brother has become mature earlier than needed.

I didn't say anything to him but continued to eat but suddenly I lost my appetite.

Thank god I took only one ladle of rice.

I served him more as he ate with happiness.

Once done I took the utensils and got ready to wash them.

"di you leave it, I will wash them, you take rest. I already made you cook lunch. You must be tired from all work. You don't even get break in Sundays as well. Its 2 pm and your shift is from 6 pm. Go and take a nap." manik said

I couldn't help but hug him and kiss his forehead. Unknown to me tears gather in my eyes.

My brother thinks so much for me..

" hey di you're suffocating me, leave before I pass out. " He joked

I left him and he saw my tears..

" hey di why are you crying?" he asked me

"I'm sorry Manu. I failed to be a good sister. I should be fulfilling all your wishes but I'm not. And moreover you don't ask for anything. Not in childhood, not now. You should not be thinking about your expenses from now only. If papa was there then it would not be this bad. I failed him as well. "I said as I broke down in front of him

I am really a bad sister. I could not make him happy nor could I give ma rest. She is still working as a maid. I'm such a waste of a girl.

I couldn't even get a chance in acting. My dreams are like my daydreams that are not going to be true anytime soon or ever I don't know.

"hey di who said this? You're the best sister anyone can get. And you didn't fail papa as well. He must be really proud of you. I don't remember him but I have heard from ma that he loved you very much, you are best in the way you're. Now don't cry and take rest and let me clean this then I have to study as well. "He said hugging me and wiping my tears

" Let's wash them together it will be fast then, "I said with a smile and he nodded

We both washed the utensils then went to each other's room.

I have to do something for my career. It can't be like this.

With this thought I laid down on the bed.
