Chapter 7 Encounter In The Bar

In order to celebrate Carolyn's graduation and the start of her career, her roommate Betty Young, who had been working for a year, planned to take her to a bar to have a drink and chat to enhance their friendship. Carolyn didn't expect Betty to take her to such an upscale place as H&R club, where the consumption is not low.

Betty said generously, "It's okay. I have money. Don't be so insensitive. Next time you buy me dinner, okay?"

Carolyn immediately agreed, "Okay, when I get my first month's salary, I'll treat you to a big meal."

They were just about to enter the door when a waiter raised his hand to stop them, "Sorry two ladies, our bar has VIPs tonight. It's already been booked."

"Huh?" Betty pleaded, "There are only two of us. We can't take up much space, and we won't disturb your VIP guests."

"Sorry, Miss." The waiter once again raised his hand to signal the growing number of people outside to leave.

Carolyn did not care much, "It's okay, Betty. Let's go somewhere else."

Before they could take a few steps, they saw the manager come out with a smiling face to apologize to the guests at the door and invite them in. It turned out that it was Willy who instructed him not to drive the guests behind him away.

"En? What's going on? So strange."

Carolyn shook her head and was led by Betty and walked inside. Carolyn had worked part-time in entertainment places before, but it was the first time she had seen such a luxurious underground bar, with crystal lights shining like night pearls.

"Who are you going to marry? How come I didn't know you liked a girl? When did you meet her? What's her name? Is she pretty? How's the body?" Willy was surprised for a full minute before asking in quick succession.

"She's here." Before he could answer, the clean and pretty figure was reflected in Ellis's eyes and went straight to his heart.

Willy followed Ellis's gaze and saw a girl wearing a white blouse and blue denim skirt with a braid. Her looks are sweet and soft, belonging to the innocent type, which should only be liked by high school boys. Willy did not expect that Ellis's vision of women was still stuck at 17 or 18 years old.

On the contrary, Betty beside Carolyn, with light makeup, long hair draped over her shoulders, wearing a modified yellow cheongsam dress, the same sweetness, but more sexy and flirtatious than Carolyn.

"She's the Carolyn Palmer you're having a scandal with, right? How come I didn't know you liked her?"

"I want to marry her, will you help me?" Ellis's eyes had been watching Carolyn since she came in.

Willy was still confused, "So it's true that you said in your statement that you two have been in love for a while? But if it's true, what are you worried about? With your current status and looks, no woman would be unwilling to marry you."

Carolyn felt a fiery gaze on her, she looked to her right and found it was Ellis Campbell! She was immediately at a loss for words, her cheeks were red and her heart was pounding. Last night at the hotel, although her consciousness was blurred, her feelings were real, and the pain and pleasure from her first time made her unable to face Ellis.

The ambiguity in Ellis's eyes was so obvious and undisguised that Carolyn almost knocked over her cup. She had seen Ellis two or three times before at the Logan family banquet, and at that time, she felt that he had an extraordinary temperament and carried a low air pressure that made people feel a little trembling when they were close to him, and even when Ellis looked at her, Carolyn would detect a dangerous aura. After last night, Carolyn was even more frightened, as if she had no clothes on in front of Ellis.

Carolyn's heart was thumping, and she didn't want to be watched by Ellis again. But Betty had only drunk half of the wine in her cup, so it was not a good idea to leave like that. In order not to spoil Betty's fun, Carolyn excused herself to go to the bathroom, but actually wanted to go out of the bar to avoid it.

When Ellis saw Carolyn get up, he also put down his glass and followed her. Willy raised his eyebrows and quickly stuffed something in Lu Lie's pocket, and Lu Lie stared at him speechlessly.

Out of the bar, Carolyn took two deep breaths to slightly calm down the disorderly mind.

At this time, a greasy middle-aged man came towards the bar, seeing Carolyn standing in front of the bar in a campus-style dress, he thought she was a prostitute receiving johns, and walked into Carolyn with a reckless up and down look.

Carolyn saw this and immediately walked away, but was pulled by the middle-aged man by the wrist, "Beauty, how much for one night?"

"You are mistaken, I am not a prostitute." Carolyn frowned and pulled her arm hard.

"Hey, you're still pretending. what are you standing in such a prominent place if not a prostitute?" The man reached for her with his other hand.

"Ah, go away!" Carolyn shouted in horror.

Before the man's hand touched Carolyn, it was twisted by Ellis.

"Ah, it hurts, let go!" The man's face was so distorted with pain.

Ellis let go of his hand, but broke his other hand that had grabbed Carolyn.

A miserable scream accompanied by the clear sound of broken bones, the man's features changed shape in pain, his face covered in sweat, and he stumbled and fled.

Carolyn was startled by Ellis's ruthlessness, but his expression was calm from the beginning to the end, as if breaking a hand was something commonplace.

When Ellis turned to Carolyn, a rare softness appeared on his face. He wanted to touch her wrist that was red from the man's tug, but Carolyn immediately took two steps back.

Ellis's expression instantly became sad. Seeing this, Carolyn felt guilty, she knew that Ellis only wanted to care about her, but she did not want to be close to him, he obviously just saved her, but she was cold to him.

Carolyn tried to cover up her embarrassment by thanking him, "I'm fine, thank you just now."

"Are you afraid of me?" Ellis asked very directly, he looked at Carolyn, hoping that the movement in his eyes could be perceived by her.

Carolyn started to panic again, her brain was a bit confused, "No, I was afraid if that man would find you in trouble and ask you to compensate or something. You hurt him to help me, if he is looking for you to compensate, I will pay the money."

"Okay." As soon as her words left her mouth, Ellis agreed in one breath.

Carolyn was dumbfounded for a moment, and after she reacted, she gave a "hmm" and immediately left at a fast pace.

Ellis showed a smug and excited smile behind her.

When she reached the bus stop, Carolyn realized that she had left Betty at the bar and immediately sent a message to tell Betty that she was waiting for her at the bus stop. In the same way, Ellis made a phone call for his assistant Parker Barton to pick him up by car, and only when he got home did he remember that Willy had also been left behind at the bar.
