Chapter 7 I Missed You, Dianna

Dianna watched over her sister while sleeping peacefully. She was still thinking about whether to accept his offer or not.

"We've been through a lot, Dianne. The accident, that memorable night and now, my store is not performing well." She murmured, gasped, and wished to have someone to lean on.

Dianna wondered if she only had the chance to know her mother's condition, she should have brought her to the hospital as soon as she discovered the truth.

But things happened for reasons. No one had ever wished to see their mother's death and suffering.

She breathed heavily as tears shone in her eyes. But she quickly blinked and wiped it away.

"No more for drama! I must work harder this time for Dianne and her future." She jumped off the hospital bed and walked into the side table.

Dianna put the contract inside of her back and took the cellphones with her. Before leaving, she kissed Dianne's forehead. "I'll be back right away, I promise."

But before she could touch the door handle, a nurse knocked on it. Dianna narrowed her eyes as she pulled and opened it.

"Good evening! Doc Klaud told me to look after your sister. Don't worry, I'll take care of her until you come back." The nurse said with a genuine smile on her lips.

She bowed her head and replied, "Call me if something happened. I will be here as soon as possible!"

The nurse nodded her head that gave her relief. Dianna gave her number to the nurse and leave immediately.

In the end, she chose to see him. Not for herself but for Dianne's sister. She has no other choice but to be his slave.

Dianna scooped the phone from her bag. She wanted to call him but there were new messages on the screen. "Good evening, Ms. Sy but you have to hurry now! Someone went here in the store with the media and most of our products were looted by them!"

Her knees trembled upon reading one of the messages sent by the cashier. Dianna wanted to scream but the hospital's lobby was not the perfect place to let out her anger.

Instead of going to the hospital's parking lot, she ran out to the sidewalk and called the taxi.

Unfortunately, no one had stopped, and the sky embraced with darkness. Determined and eager to reach the store, Dianna looked at the traffic signal and waited for the green light.

"Come on! Come on!" She said, stomped her feet but a bolt of lightning sounded off and touched to the ground. "No! No! Not now, please!" Her lips shivered upon seeing the gloomy, dull sky.

Dianna wanted to cry but there were a lot of people who passed by. Most of them were couples who laughed and held each other's hands.

"Damn! Why is it taking too long? I am in a hurry!" She cursed. Took heavy breaths until the red light changed to green.

She quickly crossed the street, bearing the heaviness in her heart. Questions flashed into her mind, and she couldn't accept the fact that someone had planned to ruin her name and store.

Dianna endured the pain on her feet while walking to the next street. Despite all the bad news, there was one thing that she thanked of about.

She ran as fast as she could while her phone vibrated. It had caught her attention as she stopped at the lamppost, alone and nervous.

"Ms. Sy! Where are you? We– we badly need your help now! They... they are smashing the windows and... a– No! Don't break it please, I am begging you to stop!"

Dianna closed her fists while listening to the cashier's cracked voice. Dianna called her name, but she heard a loud noise, and she knew, the window broke into tiny pieces.

"Haina! Are you still there? Haina!"

But the disturbing sound continued until she only heard Haina's voice on the other line.

Dianna's little hope had vanished and drifted by the wind. She knew, after the incident, hundreds of articles will be released stating all the lies and fibs about her store and products they always produced and distributed to the market.

There was only one person in her mind that could ruin her name in public. She was her greatest competitor since then, but Dianna needed reliable sources to prove the truth that she was right, and her speculations were true.

"I need to help my workers first!"

She grasped tightly the phone and turned around. Little did she know, there was a man who stood up behind her.

He wore a black tuxedo, a red tie. His hair was polished and shone in the dark. His thick, dark eyebrows, his pointed nose and, thin, red lips.

"So–sorry! I didn't saw you earlier!" She bowed her head out of the guilt she felt. "But... But I am in a hurry, I am hoping that you will let me go, Mister."

The man giggled shortly. He loosened up the tie and replied, "It's been a while, Dianna. Don't you miss me, huh?"

He touched her chin as he slowly lifted her head. Their gaze met until she recognized the man in front of her.

She wanted to run away, far from him but it would be useless. If she would do that thing, things will never be changed and still, the store was in vain.

"It's be–been a while too! H–how long have you been here? I heard that you left the country for better opportunities."

Dianna wasn't sure of it as she never heard about him since her mother died. It was such an awkward situation yet; she had managed to be calm.

Unexpectedly, the man took her hand and squeezed it gently. "Wh–what are you do–doing?"

"I missed you, Dianna." He replied shortly.

She was taken aback upon hearing his answer, but she never had the chance to pull back her hand from him.

Until a black, shining car stopped right in front of them. Dianna held her breath, widened her eyes as she knew the owner of it.

"Dianna,"

Klaud Anderson called her name which caught the man's attention. Dianna pulled her hand from his grip but he grasped it tightly enough to give hundred oh steeds in Dianna's heart.

"It's not what you think, Klaud!" Dianna mumbled. Tried to defend herself from his judgments.

But Klaud narrowed his eyes while looking at their intertwined hands, angry and disappointed.
