Chapter 4 Motherly Advice

Peter shook his head in rejection, as he couldn't sleep with a woman for money. He sighed and walked back to the bench in front of the closed shop to sit and stare out at the busy road. As he didn't have a home, and he was waiting for the night to completely fall so he could return to the under-bridge where he slept every night.

*******

Cindy arrived home in her father's mansion, which was a mighty duplex house, as she was the only child of her billionaire parents. She parked her red car in their garage and stepped down, then walked up to the mansion's front to go inside.

The duplex mansion was painted white and had beautiful flowering green plants at the front, as well as glass walls.

Cindy walked into their living room and met her mother's maid, Esther.

"Welcome home, Aunt Cindy," Esther greeted her, and Cindy frowned and paused as she scolded Esther.

"Haven't I warned you to stop calling me Aunt Cindy? Here, take this car key and go to my car and bring out the white polythene bag I forgot in there, and take it upstairs to my bedroom."

Cindy handed Esther her car keys, as she didn't like Esther. Just then, her mother, Mrs. Bola William stepped out from the kitchen upon hearing Cindy's voice.

Esther was related to Cindy from Cindy's mother's side, but Cindy did not want to acknowledge Esther as her relative. She hated to share anything belonging to her and did not like how her mother had been caring for Esther, since her mother traveled to the village and brought Esther to their house.

"Cindy," Mrs. Bola called as she walked into the living room, drying her wet hands with a white kitchen towel while wearing a brown gown.

"When will you learn to be nicer to Esther, and understand that Esther is not really a maid here, but my village aunt's daughter? She's only helping me around whenever you're not here to help me," Mrs. Bola said, indirectly scolding her daughter.

"Mom, good afternoon," Cindy greeted her mother, staring ahead at the living room stairs, and said, "I know Esther is not a maid, Mom, but tell her to stop calling me Aunt, as it may seem like we are related or I am already old. But we are not sisters, and I don't need her closeness to me."

"Cindy..." Mrs. Bola frowned, and Cindy stopped speaking, saying, "I have to go upstairs now, Mom. I'll be back to join you for dinner."

Cindy gracefully walked up the stairs to her bedroom, while Mrs. Bola sighed and told Esther, "It's okay, you can go and bring what she sent you to bring."

"Okay, ma'am," Esther replied, and she walked out of the house.

*******

Cindy walked into her bedroom and kept remembering the handsome, light-skinned man she had seen at the shopping mall area, as she couldn't stop thinking about him and how she had reacted.

She walked up to her room window, pulled it open, and allowed the gust of wind to blow into her pink-painted bedroom. She then walked up to her room mirror to stare at her beautiful reflection again.

Cindy was a cute young lady, and she smiled satisfactorily at her reflection, but she couldn't stop thinking about becoming the handsome man's wife.

"Gosh, imagine just him and me as a couple, with him touching me and bathing with me," Cindy got lost in her daydream, thinking of herself and Peter as husband and wife.

Her room door pushed open without a knock, and Esther walked in, causing Cindy to jolt out of her trance, and she glared at Esther for interrupting her sweet thoughts.

"I'm sorry, I brought the white nylon you sent me to bring," Esther said, immediately apologizing to Cindy.

"Go on and keep it on the chair, and you leave," Cindy dismissed Esther, and Esther rushed to place the nylon on the white plastic chair and darted out of Cindy's room.

Cindy sighed after Esther left, and she walked to her bed to sit and take off her red shoes to release her feet.

She stood up again from her bed, as she didn't want anyone else to disturb her thoughts about the handsome, light-skinned man she was beginning to think about too much.

As she walked to her room door to lock it, Cindy heard a knock, and she asked, "Who's there?"

"It's me, Cindy. Open up," Mrs. Bola replied, surprised to hear her daughter's voice from the door. She had seen when Esther ran out and wondered what Cindy had done to make her do that.

Cindy pulled her room door open, and her mother walked in and smiled at her.

"What is it, Mom, as I want to take my bath now?" Cindy asked her mother, who majestically walked into her room.

Mrs. Bola smiled and replied, "Close the door first, and come sit on the bed."

Cindy shut her room door and walked to meet her mother but refused to sit.

"Mom, I want to be quick with my bath. Just go on and tell me why you're here," Cindy said, looking away. Her mother replied, "Okay. Actually, your father called me today and told me he has accepted a marriage proposal on your behalf. And tomorrow, which is Sunday, Jeremy Lukeman will be here to see you."

"Why, Mom? I'm not interested in Jeremy," Cindy replied, though she didn't know Jeremy personally, she was familiar with his father's status in the city.

"You don't have a choice, Cindy, and don't you dare misbehave before Jeremy tomorrow. And be fast, as I'm waiting for you downstairs so we can have our dinner together as a family," Mrs. Bola said.

"Mom..." Cindy tried to protest, but Mrs. Bola added, "No excuses. Be fast with your bath. I'll be waiting."

Mrs. Bola exited Cindy's room, and she could hear Cindy screaming in her bedroom, "Oh! Is it by force to marry now?"

Mrs. Bola shook her head and walked away, wondering where she went wrong in raising her only daughter, as she knew that Cindy was stubborn and rude, despite her intelligence.

Cindy finally walked back to her bathroom to bathe, and she continued thinking about Peter. Since she didn't know his name, she felt bad about how she had publicly insulted him and thrown money at him.

Cindy thought, "I just hope to see him again."

Cindy finally stripped off her white gown and went to bathe, unable to stop thinking about what her mother had said concerning her marrying Jeremy Lukeman.

Cindy knew she had been in many failed relationships due to her arrogance and refusal to get intimate with any of the men she had dated before.

She was only 24 years old and a lawyer, so she sighed and quickly bathed to join her mother for dinner, as she knew she couldn't marry Jeremy.

While bathing, Cindy remembered her last ended relationship. The last guy she had dated was a billionaire who asked her to perform oral sex on him. She couldn't bring herself to do such a thing and told him, "How do you expect me to do that and suck your dick?"

Cindy quickly packed her clothes and left, as the man didn't dare to stop her, knowing she was a commissioner's daughter.

Cindy had blocked him online and refused to take his calls, telling him it was over.
