Chapter 8 Elias concern

Elias got back to his hut and met Robert sharpening his dagger outside his hut.

He drop a bag of fresh fruits on the ground and sat opposite Robert.

" You are back" Robert said as he sharpen his dagger without raising his head up.

" Yeah ! Have some fruits" Elias said as he points towward the bag of wild fruits on the couch. Robert didn't bother to say anything as he continues sharpening his dagger. There are something's he wants to tell Elias and he hope he listen to him and don't hate him for who he is.

They sat outside the hut for a while and eat some wild fruits.

" I'm Robert" Robert introduce himself and Elias chuckle.

" I thought you were never going to tell me your name" Elias said as he threw an apple up and catch it midair. Honestly he thought Robert was going to keep his identity away from him until he leaves but somehow he was glad to know the cold guy he kept under his roof name.

" So what came over you?" Elias ask and Lucas raised his brows slightly.

" What? " Robert ask

" I mean why did you tell me your name? I thought you were never going to tell me before you leave" Elias said as he heat the fire up.

" It's just a name and besides you didn't ask me to tell you my name in the first place" Robert said with a very deep cold voice. He don't seem like someone who has a bit of happiness in his heart.

Elias shudder by mere listening to his voice and that was why he don't like having contractions with him sometimes and will he ask of his name first before he tells him? Where did this cold man come from?

" Ahem, nice to meet you Robert" Elias clear his throat and stretch his right hand forward but Robert rejects it.

" You should have said that long ago" Robert said as he took another bite from the apple in his hand. Seems like the apples in Elon nation has a different taste as he couldn't help but eat more and more and guess maybe that is why Elias made wild fruits his breakfast, lunch, dinner and have to suffer running stomach.

" What do you mean by that?" Elias couldn't help but ask what he means by he should have said that long ago.

" I mean you should have said that the first day we met" Robert said as he chew the last apple in his hand.

' This man sure thinks differently from others and beside what is wrong with saying that now' Elias thought silently as he didn't want to talk to Robert anymore. He has know his name. They both know each other's names now and it will be better if they don't talk again to avoid akwardness.

" Your nation is a quiet peaceful and lovely with people going about their different businesses" Robert said as he throw a wood into the heap of fire between them.

" Yes our nation is peaceful and lively and we are trying all our best to keep it this way. We can't afford to loose anyone of us to the enemies" Elias said and stop Midway. He still doesn't think he should tell Robert everything about him and his nation. What if he is the enemy they are trying to keep away from their nation and what if he is a spy? Despite a this thoughts, Elias still don't see Robert as a bad man even if he is armed with weapons and has a cold aura, he still don't see him as a bad man but a part of him is telling him not to tell him too much about their nation while a part of him wants tell him everything about Elon nation. Which part of him should he listen to? He guess he shouldn't listen to any of them and just be himself.

" That is nice and great, unlike my nation, cold, silent and deserted with only the sounds of cricket's and howling sound of wolves can be heard " Robert said sadly as he clamp his hand together and start telling Elias things about him slowly. Elias don't know what he is saying but right from unset he knows Robert is somehow a lonely man especially the way he is reserve, armed, cold and thinks differently. He knows there is more to him than being someone he rescued at the borders.

" What do you mean by cold, silent and deserted?" Elias ask curiously and Robert exhale. He is not good in telling stories or explaining himself and this is why he really don't like talking.

" There is no single soul in my nation. I'm the only living soul there and not until the gods sent a huge Python to chase me out of the nation" Robert said as he suddenly lost interest in the topic when the thoughts of the gods came into his heart. Who knows how much he dislikes those gods that call themselves gods. Watching their people die before them and taken away before them don't really make any sense to him and he will consider them as blind and shameless gods. He will never forget what they did to him. After freeing his people from Harold, he will come back to the gods and teach them a lesson to learn.

" No single soul? What happened to your nation and why will your gods sent a python after you"Elias ask curiously as he couldn't arrive anywhere with his thoughts. His nation deserted with no single souls in it except him and the gods of his nation sent a python after him. Could it be the gods wants everyone in the nation dead? What nation is that?

" My nation was wipe out when I went out to hunt in the forest. Houses were burnt, people were killed, and the citizens that were in the castle were taken away into captives as slave. I was the only one who survived and now the gods wants something from me which I'm not willing to do" Robert said as his eyes became deep and dark. If the gods truly wants something, they should get it themselves. He has nothing to give or do for them.
