Chapter 5 5-Strigidae

He came to campus because the career he was pursuing had a job to do to get the money and security he craved, and that was making a drug. David wasn't quite sure what drug it was, or if it really was, but anyway, he knew where to find someone like the man he was after, and the only place he could find it was the campus. It's fucking luck that he can see these guys and put two together with his wife.

She should fucking go home where she's safe.

"Aiden's there to protect her," Stan muttered.

"Really? Did your baby bodyguard notice that car with lights out waiting for her, watching her? It's fucking sticking out like a sore thumb, but he's busy like looking at her like a pervert," David stammered.

Aiden walked forward. "I'd never look at her like that. She's like a sister to me," Aiden explained.

"A sister you'd get killed for," David added.

"Enough!" Stan yelled, and David gritted his teeth. Never in his life had he had to back off during a fight, or had so much control over someone who pissed him off.

His older brother told him to respect Stan, work with him, and most importantly, never make waves against him. That's not how David works. Ramos' name means everything to him. Working with Stan and having Kezen as his wife all took him a little too far.

He's not used to not being out. "Where's Kezen?" Stan asked.

David took a deep breath and turned to Stan. "She is upstairs. She's the one who suggested I bring them here."

Stan nodded. "Okay. She knew this was the best place to get an answer." "

Police partying upstairs?"

"Those cops are my friends. I take care of them and they take care of me. I don't need to explain to you about my actions, or most of the people upstairs owe me."

He turned to those people and followed them.

They are currently passed out. David decided to start with the nails. He found excruciating pain convincing. For the most part, at the slightest pain, guys will spout all sorts of secrets. It's a little awkward for them, but that's their world. Stan steps forward, and he throws their heads back.

"What are you doing?" David asked. He is used to working alone.

"They're marked," Stan said, taking a step back.

"What mark?" David was so angry that he got too close and beat the crap out of them. He just wants to chop them up. He was fond of knives, and these men wanted to attack his wife. Even though he doesn't particularly like Kezen, she's still his wife. Under his protection, if anything happened to her, he would be responsible for it.

He will be the laughingstock of the Ramos and Indelcio family. She has to be protected at all costs, even if he doesn't agree that she's part of their world. She is his wife.

"The mark of an owl," Stan said.

This made David take a step forward and held up the man's head. Sure enough, there was that mark at the base of his neck. It was a coiled owl with blood dripping from its beaks.

David hadn't seen anything like this for many years. "Why are they after Kezen?" David asked.

"Let's take a look." Stan holds up a bucket of water, also mixed with urine. He finds another of Stan's men urinating in a bucket and says the boss likes it. David didn't bother to ask questions. This is one of the many reasons he prefers to work alone or with his own people. Harold, Joan, and Troy all knew the outcome. They know how he works. They are his best friends and the only people he trusts, besides his older brother, his only siblings, and his family.

He certainly doesn't trust his brother-in-law Stan Indelcio. Just thinking about him was enough to make him wrinkle his nose. Urine and water were used on the men, who woke up gasping for breath.

Now, Stan's methods of torture are legendary, or at least the rumors surrounding him are. People would rather kill themselves than face Stan's wrath. David watches as Stan pulls a knife from his jacket pocket. He drew his scabbard. It's small.

"Why are you following my sister?" Stan asked. With his legs spread, he almost straddles the person on his left. David watched as he suddenly poked the man in the chest. Stan sighed and repeated the question again.

The person on the right is just watching. With every question and every poke, the man looked more frightened. David saw Stan at work, and when he didn't stab the man in the chest, he hit him in the stomach, then the thigh.

David didn't know how the man was still breathing, but his technique was sharp and his aim was good. Even though Stan walks away, the man is still alive, and David sees the man covered in blood. He will die a slow and painful death. Blood had soaked the floor.

"Why are you following my sister?" Stan held the knife and was about to stab the man in the chest, but the man screamed.

"Our orders are to take her!"

Stan hugged himself tightly, ready to strike at any moment. "Take her?"

"Yes, Kezen Aslani Indelsio is an important piece in this game."

"Who are they?" asked David, stepping forward.

The man looked at Stan, then at him, then back again. "I don't know. I just know that once you get that score, you have to do what they tell you. Our orders are to keep an eye on her and to take her when we get the chance."

"You work for the Strigidae?" Stan asked.

Owls?

The man's lips trembled. "We haven't got all the information yet," he said.

Furious Stan is now fucking on strike. Stan took a step back. Another person is slowly dying. "I know what we're up against, but it's not rosy. David, I dealt with the Strigidae Gang years ago. It's-I need to talk to your brother, I think Kezen should come home with me."

"What the fuck? She's my wife, she should be with me." David yelled.
