Chapter 3 The people

+16th Century, 1551. The Vredrivia Kingdom.

Vredrivia during the 13th and 14th centuries became one of the strongest and largest kingdoms in the world. Not only because they have riches, beauty, or generous yet kind Majesties but because this kingdom has been ruled by the same bloodline for more than six centuries.

And each new king or queen takes the throne made the kingdom stronger than it was before them and it carried on for centuries until Vredrivia became how it is right now in the 16th century.

Vredrivia always had the kindest of people and nobles. All the royals that ruled this kingdom were so plentiful to their people since the kingdom and their people were their first priority, but that doesn't mean that Vredrivia has never had tainted, filthy, cruel bastards who try to ruin the peace and perfection of their kingdom.

No matter how beautiful something is there always will be that one thing or person who makes it undesirable and who poisons everything till the very last bit.

There will always be someone who is greedy and no matter how much they have they will still want more and want what the others have which is why crimes like theft and violence were the main crimes that existed in this kingdom.

The most common crimes were the theft of small amounts of money, food, and property. Violent crimes were a minority of cases since it only happens when the thief has no other choice but to use it when the victim starts defending their property.

Also, corruption and bribes, and betrayal. Those can mostly happen in the royal palace among the royals, ministers, or even the soldiers because, in the end, Vredrivia is not a perfect kingdom but it is the closest to perfection out of all the other kingdoms and empires.

Fresh breezes of air, the rustling of leaves in the trees, the silence that surrounded the outside of the royal palace with some exciting whispers that belong to the people who were standing in front of the royal palace looking at the royal balcony waiting for the royals to appear so that they can introduce the new crown prince to people.

The sounds of joy erupted all over the place when the king and the queen of the kingdom appeared on the royal balcony with the newborn prince who was wrapped gently in a blanket in his mother's arms.

People were delighted when they heard about their crown prince's birth, some of them even shed happy tears because all the people in the kingdoms have been praying to the moon Goddess to gift them a crown prince or princess to carry on ruling their kingdom just like it has been ruled by the same bloodline for centuries.

The king watched the huge number of people that were standing outside the palace and how happy they were when they saw the royals before he glances at the former king and queen who were still standing inside the room and were not with them in the royal balcony.

His highness felt so helpless and nervous as he had no clue what to say to his people because he knows how they will refuse the prince's rank and he did not want to disappoint them.

A mixture of feelings and emotions was everything that the queen was feeling at this moment. She is still so happy with her son regardless of his rank, but she was nervous and scared of how their people will react when they get to know the prince's rank. She was terrified of the fact that her people will blame everything on her because she is an omega as well.

"Please, give your attention to his majesty. The king has something for you." That was the former king who decided to come out to the balcony and look at their people while uttering this out loud as he instantly received the people's attention and silence waiting for what the king had for them.

The king needed a lot of courage to get himself ready to commence talking to his people in order to deliver this "bad news" about their prince's rank "As all of you know, the Antias bloodline has been ruling our kingdom for centuries. The first ever ruler of our kingdom was the queen Armine Antias and the last one who ruled Vredrivia before me was the king Brynlee Antias."

None of the people had any idea what their king was trying to tell them exactly and they honestly started to get worried, but they carried on listening dumbfoundedly to what their king was declaring.

"Also, as all of you know our laws only allow a pure royal to take the throne after the current king. And your queen has been struggling for years, two decades to be more precise just to be able to carry the prince for us, for the kingdom, for you, and for me as well. The only one who can take the throne after me and rule our kingdom is the prince Octavius who was born just today after years of praying and patience."

Her highness was still too exhausted and was struggling to stay standing on the balcony without falling on the floor. The only thing that was keeping her awake was the fear of her people's reaction and the feeling of her son sleeping in her arms that was keeping her alert as she felt like she has to protect him from everything even the slightest word that would come out of someone's mouth even though the prince won't understand it.

"The birth of Octavius is a miracle and unexpected gift from the moon Goddess because, after years of waiting, a lot of us lost hope of having a pure royal to rule our kingdom after me. I want to thank you for your prayers and thank all the doctors, warlocks, witches, midwives, and maids who helped us to get Octavius. I'm afraid to inform you that our newborn prince is an omega and our queen can not get pregnant with another prince or princess again."
