Chapter 5 Visiting The Human Plane

A mixed feeling of happiness and fear filled the face of Amaya as we came to the new environment. She felt strange and awkward walking, her face looks very bothered as she flashes her eyes all over the places. I knew how she feels, a feeling of been killed by the humans or been taken as a slave. She always try to run or hide anytime noise comes from within us even when the trees dance to the rhythm of the wind.

I never blamed her because it was actually her first time going out of our own fortress and world. It is going to be a wonderful experience for her once he sees a human, a harmless one like Arnold. I never wanted to tell her that we are here to see a human being because that could make her tremble and probably run back to where we are coming from.

She could not move further after she heard some voice coming from a distance, the voice don't bother me anymore because I have known how to keep myself hidden before them. She does not want to take a step again as the voice becomes louder as the speakers approaches. I dragged her by the hand, running very silently between the tree branches.

It was very much easier for me because she is very skilled in camouflaging and running in between the trees.

Immediately we gets closer to the stream that Arnold usually stay, we stayed calm waiting for the men to go through before we could reveal ourselves.

"Princess Alena, you haven't told me what and why we are here" I can feel her body shaking in fear as she try to cover herself with some leafs. "Amaya I thought you will like it, that's why I invited you to come with me"

She stares at me in a hard way. I know she is very angry now. "I will never enjoy anything with humans, they are very brutal and gruesome creatures. Always wanted to be God over everything" I smiled at her trying to calm her down.

"Amaya you haven't meet a human before, you are saying this because of what they told you"

She could not allow me to finish up "Why then are you hiding with me since you believe that they are not as bad as we believe?"

"Amaya I do this because you are new to this environment and besides no creature is an object of perfection, we elves might even be worst than humans"

I can sense the disbelief in Amaya's face. She could have pushed or even slapped me if she has the opportunity, She tried getting up but I dragged her back to her knees "Amaya be careful someone is coming our way" she looks worried as tears streamed down her eyes. "We should have come with our weapon, now we are helplessly powerless before our enemies"

Amaya thought I was going crazy after I stood up from our hiding place and screamed the name Arnold, I dragged Amaya with me and run towards Arnold.

I was very happy to see Arnold again, likewise him as a lively smiles filled his handsome face.

"Alena, it has been a while since I saw you, I thought you won't come back again" He looked at Amaya who looked very confused.

"She is Amaya my personal guide and protector".

Arnold was very amused by my words, he stretches his hands toward Amaya. Amaya looked at me then back to Arnold who's hands are still hanging in the air "what is it?" Arnold smiled at her "It's a sign of friendship and trust for the humans" She awkwardly shakes Arnold.

"Amaya I know that you all believe that humans are very toxic but that is not it, we humans believe that Elves are very forbidden but that does not mean that we don't need each other to make this universe a better place to live in"

"Do you think elves and Humans can work together?"

"I Arnold believe we can possibly work together but can two work together unless they agreed?, of course no, so Amaya accept me as a friend and things might get better".

I can sense positivity in Amaya's speech and I strongly believe that very soon she will understand that humans are not all that bad. Though everything has two sides but I hope we stay at the good side.

"So Arnold where do you live?" He looked up to me asking for a signal with his eyes narrowed. I nodded for approval. He tapped Amaya at the head pointing at a far corn field. "that is where I live all alone as a hired labourer at the field"

Looking at the landscape of the field, it appears very beautiful and amazing. The cold morning wind and the sound of birds whistling was so romantic. I become very much afraid as we approach the cornfield, there were a lot of people at the place. Though they are far from us but I don't want to get Arnold or myself and Amaya into trouble. "Arnold don't you think it's a bad idea going further from here?"

His smile always gives me hope and trust but I'm beginning to doubt it now. "You don't have to be afraid, they are far from us. They don't know whom you are, just make sure that the clothes covers the two of you well"

Amaya never looked bothered as she watches the beauty of the place "what a beautiful environment you humans have".

Nothing makes me feel more comfortable and happy immediately we entered the carbine Arnold lives. It was a very good place to be. Everything was built with woods and stones unlike my place that has everything carved and moulded with gold, Silver and some other sparkling stones.

He has two sets of wooden chairs facing a fireplace.

He offered us a cup of hot black waters with a nice scent he calls it coffee.

Amaya was actually getting along with Arnold now, her smiles and words shows it all.

"So Arnold sorry if I have said something rude to you before, I'm just trying to overcome my fears".

"fear is something inevitable especially when you see yourself in a new environment with a new being"

It was like I was left alone in the conversation. I tried to say something but Amaya's curiosity could not allow me to say something. "Amaya don't you think it's time to go home?"

I felt Arnold's hard glance at my face, I pretended like nothing happened. He stands up and walked to my back and held my hair carcaresing it softly, he bend over to my face and kisses my forehead. I shivered as his lips touches my body. The smooth sound of Amaya's cup on the ground attracts my attention. I immediately pushed Arnold away from me. He smiled and leaks his lips. Amaya's eyes are widely open as she sits looking so liveless. "Arnold what did you just do?"

"Amaya I did nothing I just kissed Alena"

"that is not the right thing to do, she is a princess and you should show some respect"

"Amaya calm down, He won't try it again now he knows that I'm a princess"

"Arnold who is princess Alena to you?" Amaya asked as she tries to get over what happened earlier, thouh I wasn't expecting Amaya to ask this type of question because of what Arnold might reply but she did and the reply gets me into trouble.

"Alena is my girlfriend".

The room becomes very tensed and hot. I felt like the ground should open up and Swallow me.

Imagination on how to just disappear back to my kingdom filled my mind but I can't do it because of what might happen next, I can't take the risk of letting Arnold know that we have the power to teleport.

All our attention was immediately drown to the door. It was a knock, my spines tingled and vibrate. My legs hurt and my body adds up some weight.

Amaya appeared to be dead as the knock comes back for the second time. We were trapped and could not do anything about it. A stream of hot sweat runs down from the face of Arnold to his mouth like a mighty waterfall. He opened a deep underground store which we never know was there. He made us to go inside of it and he closed it before opening his door. We can hear the footsteps of the two men on top of the metal cover of the underground entrance.

"Arnold I have been knocking on your door since but you didn't answer, hope all is well?"

" all is fine" there is a bit silence between the three before they started talking again. " We didn't see you around the stream today, what happened?"

"I have a small malaria and I felt dizzy and couldn't make it today?"

"Arnold are you sure of what you are saying because I can sense lies in them"

" Alonso, have I have ever lie to you before?"

"no but it seems like you are about to because these cups shows that you are not alone and besides, Alphonso said that he saw you with two beautiful girls earlier this morning"

" Yeah he's right, the two girls were palace workers who have come to check how the work is going"

"Alright then. Arnold, have you heard anything about the dark forest where the black monsters and the dragon lives?"

This question attracted my attention more to what Arnold, Alonso and Alphonso were discussing. I moved more closer to the surface to listen to what he might say because this was actually the fourth time I'm hearing of the dark forest.

"Actually Alonso I have heard about the forest, even how the dwellers tend to take this whole land from us"

"Exactly, even the Elves land are in danger of losing their kingdom"

Fear gripped me and Amaya inside the place we're, The humans are already making plans on how to to secure their place from the black monsters and the Elves are not doing anything about it.

Immediately Alonso and Alphonso leaves the Carbine, we hurried up leaving the underground.

"Arnold what is your king intending to do?"

"To mobilize more warriors that can go to the bother between us and the black monsters to protect our Kingdom"

"Alena, we should go now"

I can't say no to Amaya because it's already afternoon. We hurried up to the where the boundary was, Arnold stands waving at us as we go through the invincible veil to our own kingdom.
