"It's my birthday, dad is supposed to celebrate with us". He grumbled again, still holding his dad's hand, not wanting to let go.
"Don't worry buddy, I'll get you lots of chocolates, cupcakes and candies when I'm back and we'll have another round of celebration, the three of us...as a family".
"Why do you have to work on a Saturday?". Bobby grumbled again.
"There are patients who needs your dad's help sweetie..he has to work everyday because he saves lives".
"Dad saves lives? Like the superheroes?". Bobby was excited.
"Yes sweetie...like the superheroes". Mrs Adams chuckled.
"What should I call you? Batman? Superman? Ironman?". He kept a finger under his chin, like he was in deep thoughts as he stared at his father.
"Call me whatever". Mr Adams replied, stroking his son's hair tenderly.
"I'll call you Superman, he's my favorite". Bobby replied.
"How about Super doctor? He's great at what he does... saving lives at the hospital". Mrs Adams said.
"Super doctor it is". Bobby said in sheer excitement. "Thanks Mommy".
"So, can we go celebrate you?".
"Yess...yess..yess!". He jumped for joy.
"Okay...first, we're going to the Amusement park". His mother said.
"Yayy!!".
Mr Adams kissed them bye and proceeded to his own destination.
*
Their drive to the park was a quiet one.
The road seemed clear as only a few vehicles were moving to and fro, compared to a Monday morning.
Mrs Adams steered the wheel as she continuously checked up on her son who was sitting behind at the passenger seat through the rear-view mirror.
He looked bored.
She chuckled at his innocent face.
"C'mon sweetie...why the long face?".
"Should we sing a song?".
He nodded his head.
"Old MacDonald had a farm, e i e i o".
"And on the farm he had some cows, e i e i o".
She began to sing one of his favorite nursery rhymes he used to love when he was three years old.
"Finish it Bobby".
"A moo moo here and a moo moo there..here a moo, there a moo everywhere moo moo, old MacDonald had a farm...e i e i o". He completed the rhyme, earning a chuckle from his mom.
"That's my boy". She smiled as she checked the mirror again and caught him smiling.
"Continue the song for mommy, sweetie".
He continued singing the rhyme, listing out all the animals he knew, even the ones that couldn't be found on a farm.
It didn't matter, as long as he cheered up. And his mom nodded her head in rhythm.
They were so engrossed in the song, she barely noticed the lorry which suddenly swerved and got to her lane, right in front of her.
She turned the wheel repeatedly, trying to avoid crashing into the lorry.
She subconsciously swerved to the other lane as she tried avoiding hitting the vehicle ahead of her.
"Jesus...Jesus!". She panicked, finding it hard to control the steering wheel.
She was moving 70 mph and it would be risky to step on the brakes abruptly.
Soon, her car was hit by a truck at full speed behind her.
She suddenly got into their lane and the truck driver was also having difficulties stepping on his brakes.
Her car was thrown off the road and it rushed down a hilly path uncontrollably.
"No..no...please..No!!". She panicked.
It finally came to a halt after a head on collision with a tree.
She went flying in an ejection right through the windscreen, after it crashed to pieces and her almost lifeless body hit the tree, knocking out the remaining life in her.
Her son on the other hand went crashing in an ejection, against the dashboard.
He laid lifeless, covered in a pool of blood, right on top of the hand brake.

Bobby opened his eyes and looked around.
The area was unfamiliar as he wondered where he was.
His gaze finally landed on his father.
His face lit up.
"Dad". He rushed to him and tried to hold his hand but it went right through his father's.
"Dad?". He called out again, staring in confusion at his hands.
Why can't I hold dad?
Why is dad crying?
He thought as he watched tears roll down his father's cheeks while he seemed focused on what he was doing.
It looked like he was trying to save a patient.
His eyes averted to the body on the bed.
He jolted back in fear when he recognized the little boy lying on the bed.
It was him.
Why was he lying there when he was also standing close to the bed?
Why were the nurses and his father running helterskelter?
Why is he seeing himself lying down?.
Confusion engulfed him as he tried to touch his own body, but his fingers ended up going right through it.
"Wh.. what's happening?". He trembled in fear, still staring at his hands.
"Dad!". He called out to his father who didn't seem to hear him.
He began to cry.
"There...there". He felt a hand on his shoulder and turned immediately.
An old woman stared down at him.
"What's wrong little one?". She asked.
"Daddy can't hear me, I don't know what's happening". He replied, sobbing.
"The doctor is your father?".
He nodded his head in reply.
"You should go back...it's not your time". The woman said, patting his head.
"Go back to where?". He asked innocently.
"Go back to daddy". She replied.
"Close your eyes and when you wake up, you'll see your daddy".
"Daddy is crying". He continued crying.
"Shh, little one...I want you to fight back, it's not time for you to go..you should wake up and see daddy smiling".
"Close your eyes little one.." She cooed.
He obeyed humbly.
"Now, go back to your daddy". She patted his head for the last time before he became one with the wind.
"We've gotten a pulse!". A nurse screamed in joy, alerting Mr Adams who wiped his tears and sighed in relief.
The electrocardiogram was beeping at the increase in the pulse rate.
"Thank you God!". Mr Adams gasped out, staring back at his son.
"Thank you for saving my son".

Present day...
South Central High.
"I told you your mom wouldn't believe me didn't I?". Bobby said, he was at the gents trying to relieve himself of his almost exploding bladder.
"You didn't convince her well enough". Stephanie grumbled, folding her arms.
"I'll take that as a 'thank you for trying Bobby' ". He scowled at her.
"Oh please". She rolled her eyes.
"And what in God's name are you doing here?". He asked.
She twirled her index finger, wrapping strands of her blonde hair on it.
"It's not like I'm trespassing or something duh.."
"You ARE trespassing". He said, then turned away from her.
"I have to pee...you should leave".
She scoffed.
"Oh...c'mon..you don't think I'm interested in your pea size do you?". She joshed, biting on her lip sultrily.
"Stephanie!". He called her name.
"Wah?".
"Some privacy...please?".
"Whatever". She rolled her eyes again and walked out of the toilet.
Someone flushed the toilet in one of the occupied spaces and came out.
He had a 'Who the fuck were you talking to' look on his face as he stared at Bobby who sighed in realization to what happened.
He thought he was the only one in the gents.
"C'mon bruh...it's not funny". The boy who came out of the toilet said and quickly walked out of the toilet.
"Great...just great". Bobby muttered.

School garden...
"So...you mean you started seeing ghosts after you had a near death experience?". Stephanie asked curiously. She sat next to him on the bench.
Bobby nodded his head and continued sipping on his milkshake.
"Okay...I get it now...I mean it all make sense as to how you're able to communicate with me..." She said with scorn folding her arms.
He looked at her and scoffed.
"You're being sarcastic huh?".
"Hell yeah I am...I mean how in the world will you go through a near death experience and then boom when you wake up...you start seeing the unseen? It's absurd". She replied.
"Definitely what I assumed you would say". He sighed, then paused.
"Wait...why are you following me around?".
"Oh please...you should be grateful and happy that the most beautiful girl in South Central High is walking side by side with you". She said and dramatically flipped her hair to the side, smirking at him.
"Yeah.." He nodded his head.
She smiled...
"You see?". She winked at him.
"But I'm not". He muttered and her smile faded.
"What?". She asked.
"I'm not happy...you bonehead! I'm totally freaked out that a dead girl's spirit is following me around, leeching off of me".
She gasped and held her chest.
"Ouch! How dare you?".
"Shouldn't you be...you know? Watching over your loved ones? I heard that's what ghosts who still wander about do. Orrrr disturb the ones who are the cause of their death...and make life miserable for them?". He arched an eyebrow.
"But then, you decided to make mine miserable...am I your killer?".
"Maybe". She murmured.
"You little brat!". He balled up his fist, startling her.
"Calm down...that temper of yours should be directed elsewhere not me". She said with a pout.
"Blake totally made a mess of you the other day".
He glared at her as he remembered when he was hit by Blake.
"You just have to go to the hospital with or without my mom and confirm that I'm not fully dead...please".
"If you could...you know? Die and come back to life...then I can also come back to life".
"I didn't die". He said.
"How do you explain what happened to you then?". She asked.
"Sort of...uh..a Coma?". He replied but it was more like a question.
"Bingo!". She snapped her fingers.
"I might be in a Coma, don't you think?".
"The doctor confirmed that you're dead...I mean that's why everyone says you're dead".
"I am not dead...I'm telling you this myself okay? Just visit the hospital".
"Bobby!". He heard Emily's voice and turned to see her waving frantically at him.
She held her lunch box and began to approach him.
"Don't talk to me for now". He whispered to Stephanie.
"Are you kidding me?". She was offended.
"You're choosing her over me?".
"What's this like? It's not like I'm in love with any of you.." He murmured.
She sucked her teeth.
"That's what you're making it look like...I just told you not to talk to me... because it's gonna be awkward if she sees me talking to the wind...I guess that's how it's gonna look like to her..since she can't see you".
"Whatever..." She rolled her eyes, folding her arms.
"But sheesh..you've got an absolutely low taste". She eyed Emily who drew nearer to them.
"Permission to join you.." Emily said, all smiles.
"Permission granted, you look really happy". He said as she almost sat down beside him, exactly the space Stephanie was occupying.
He wanted to stop her...
She isn't visible... what's the use?
He thought to himself and withdrew his hand while Stephanie bolted up immediately, giving the oblivious girl the space.
"Arrghh! Stupid geek!". She cussed at the girl, fuming.
Bobby tried to hold back his laughter.
"You find that hilarious huh?". She scowled at him.
"What's funny?". Emily asked, as she watched him stifle a laughter.
He shook his head.
"You're bubbly today and it's relieving to see. I thought you were going to be sulking all day because of Blake". Emily said.
"He's really an asshole". She said in huge scorn.
"You shouldn't defile your incorruptible mouth by swearing at him". He replied.
She chuckled.
"Hey! Stupid geek!!". Stephanie yelled at her.
"Don't you dare talk about my Blakey like that...do you hear me?! One more word about my boyfriend and I'll show you.." She balled up her fist.
Bobby stifled a laughter again, while Emily glanced at his face.
"I'm sorry". He murmured, then stuff his burrito in his mouth to prevent him from laughing.
"Look at me... stupid geek...look at me!! I'll poke out your eyes..". Stephanie continued ranting at the oblivious girl who was enjoying her lunch and company.
"Well...well..well, what do we have here?". Abby's voice chipped in.
"It's the new geek couple". Veronica said as they arrived at the scene, with Blake.
"Hey...guys". Stephanie's face lit up.
"Have you had lunch babe?". She asked, walking up to Blake.
He passed right through her, approaching Bobby and Emily.
It dawned on her that they still couldn't see her or hear her.
"Aw, look at them, so cute together". Abby squealed.
"Ew, no". Stephanie objected, even as they didn't hear her.
"Where's the homework I told you to do for me?". Blake asked Bobby.
The latter sighed.
"I don't remember agreeing to do your homework for you". He replied nonchalantly.
Blake scoffed.
"I see you're a tough one".
He snatched the bag close to him.
"I'll just take yours instead".
"Give it back!". Bobby stood up and tried to grab his bag back.
"Or maybe I should rip it to pieces, that way neither of us will have something to submit". He smirked.
"Please, give it back Blake". Emily chipped in as she looked up at him from where she sat.
"If it isn't Clark Kent coming to the rescue...how cute". Veronica joshed.
"It's Emily". Emily murmured.
"No one asked you to interfere four eyes!". Abby snapped and grabbed Bobby's Milkshake container.
She picked the straw out of it and threw it away, then emptied the content on Emily's hair.
"Next time, just keep quiet".
Students who were close by gasped as they watched the scene.
Some of them, began to take pictures, giggling at the sight.
"Ow...Abby...that wasn't called for honey". Stephanie said, watching the pathetic state of Emily.
Abby and Veronica folded their arms, wearing smugly smiles.
"Anything else to say Clark Kent?". Abby asked.
Emily stood up slowly, the liquid, dripping from her hair, down to her body.
Bobby sighed deeply, clenching his fists by the side.
Stephanie watched him, then faced her boyfriend.
"Give it to him Babe...let's get out of here".
"Shit! I forgot you can't hear me". She bit on her lip, out of frustration.
"Oh! Here it is". Blake said with a smirk as he finally found the homework book in the bag.
"Babe...just give it back okay". Stephanie persisted.
"Don't do it... please..." Bobby pleaded amid gritted teeth as he clenched his fist again.
"It doesn't seem like it's genuine...you look like you want to rip my throat out and it's amusing". Blake scoffed.
"I might've pardoned you but you disobeyed me and I hate disobedience so bad, I'll teach you a lesson not to disobey me next time". He tossed the bag aside and held the book, ready to rip it.
"Babe...babe...babe...Abby... Veronica...stop him". Stephanie said, turning from Abby to Veronica and then vice versa.
"Babe...no.." She finally faced Blake.
The next minute, he ripped the book, into halves and then quarters.
Some students gasped again.
"BLAKE!!!". Stephanie screamed.
The Cafeteria windows shattered.
All the students attention were diverted to the shattered windows instead.
They stared back at the building in horror.
