Chapter 4 Firestone

Lakshmi's POV

"How do I go get this Firestone Banshee? I feel like you are not telling me enough" Louis was having a heated argument with Banshee.

"I have told you everything I know. If you don't want to go find it then don't, no one is forcing you to do so" she seemed to be pissed.

"All I want is for you to tell me the safest route there" Louis released his breath and sighed.

"There is no safest way. This stone is very powerful and its power can conquer almost anything and everything, including Mia and Arthur's spirit, so you don't expect it to grow on trees so you can pick them like apples" she rolled her eyes and went to take her seat.

"I can see that" Louis sounded more sarcastic than she was.

Why were they arguing so much about a stone, they are worse than Ethane and me before we started dating.

"What are you watching!" Ethane came over to me and sat on the bed beside me.

"The Banshee and Louis show. it's quite interesting if you ask me" I scoffed and smiled at the same time.

"I can tell by how focused you are" he kissed me on the cheek and drew the laptop closer to him.

"Firestone?" He looked at me and shrugged, I had already started recording their conversation from the onset.

This firestone seems to be too important to them.

Lakshmi's POV

" So this stone is some kind of fire-breathing stuff of what?" I asked Mara when we all had gathered in her house and she played the video of Banshee and Louis for us to watch.

"I don't think it breathes fire. It's not a dragon" Mara replied to me, waving her hands in the air.

"It's a stone, it glows like fire and it's very hot. It's the only thing powerful enough to destroy my necklace, hence leaving me powerless without any kind of force protecting me" Mia replied while looking at the ceiling.

"So that's why it's so important to them?" I asked and she nodded her head.

"Not just that, it can make banshees even more powerful than she is right now. It is a very huge problem for us" Mia talked and continuously nodded her head vertically.

"So how do we keep this stone away from her before she uses it to destroy us all?" Mara asked.

"I don't know that?" Mia made her palms face the ceiling.

"If you don't know then we are doomed honestly '' Rose was so scared, I wonder how she was even able to plant the cameras there.

"Maybe if we can get the stone first then there's a chance that we would be able to protect her from it" Mara suggested for a second I had to pause and think if she has any brains at all. I just played the video and Banshee made it clear that no human would be able to touch the power stone.

"I can touch the stone Lakshmi, so long as I am wearing my necklace. It would protect me, like a force field guiding me and I will be able to bring it" Mia replied and answered my question at the same time.

"Then maybe you should give someone else your necklace because you are not in any condition to be jumping into a volcano in search of a firestone, '' Ethane said, although his words were kind of insensitive at that point, probably because he didn't think them through.

Ethane was right, Maia wasn't in a good condition, and her jumping into a volcano to go in search of a stone, we barely know the depth of its powers.

"So maybe I should go," Mara volunteered.

"Mia, you will have to give Mara your necklace," I told her very softly, I didn't want her to feel like we were taking away the most precious thing I know how much Mia loved that necklace and she wouldn't take it off for any reason, even when she went to take her bath.

"Does she have to do that? Isn't there another way for us to put an end to this without Mia having to take her necklace off? The last time I asked her to take that necklace off, she almost killed me...literally" Rose puffed her cheek and placed her plan on her head, shaking her head vigorously.

"I do not want history to repeat itself" she sounded like a child and I had to laugh.

"I don't think Mia can kill anyone," Mara laughed.

"Trust me, when you push her to the edge, just enough for her to grab a knife. She will stab you '' Rose sounded so sarcastic but I could see that she was being serious. All this while Mia was very quiet and I thought maybe she was offended.

"Mia, are you offended?" I asked her and she signaled a no.

"So, will you be able to give me your necklace, please" Mara stretched forth her right palm with an open palm?

"Okay" surprisingly Mia agreed and was about to take it off but all her efforts proved to be abortive. The damn thing just refused to leave her neck.

"You must be kidding me?" Scott pinched the bridge of his nose.

"So, we are stuck. Mia can't go because of her condition and Mara can't go because she won't be able to carry the firestone" Ethane asked as if he couldn't see the most obvious.

"Yes," I faked a smile at him.

And he lifted his hands in the air as if surrendering to me.

"Stop attacking my man b*tch and focus on the main issue at hand" Mara almost got at me.

"Well tell your man to stop asking silly questions and then I might consider your request" I talked back to her and she came to attack me but Ethane pulled her away from me, holding her waist and preventing her.

"If you want a fight, I'm down for one" I tried to throw my fist at her but Scott held me back.

"Are you two crazy?!" Scott and Ethane school at the same time.

"That's weird" I murmured and was forced to calm down.

"If you girls fight like this, then we are never going to be able to achieve anything" Mia had to tell us the truth and I felt bad.

"I'm sorry, that's all. the tension is just getting into my head" Mara was the first to apologize.

"I'm sorry too" I looked at my feet and made very funny movements with my toes.

"Two legs help us walk '' Mia giggled and that gave me an idea. Two legs do help us work, don't they? Hmmm.
