Chapter 3 Mate pull

Lucius POV

I stared disgustingly at Alpha ray and frowned at the way how he led his pack. He was the reason behind the shattered alliance that bound our packs together, yet he paraded himself as a protector, feigning concern for his people.

The Snow jade pack and Black heart pack had been loyal allies, using the disputed land as a crucial trade route to strengthen and develop the respective packs. However, after the demise of the former alpha of the snow jade pack and the untimely death of my father, Alpha Ray disregarded the agreement we had in the first place.

He selfishly exploited the land for personal gain, offering its routes to other neighboring packs and profiting from their transactions alone. As a result, the once -prominent trade route developed into a hub of illicit activities, fracturing the alliance between our packs. I couldn't help but wonder how Alpha Ray utilized the money he acquired all these years, for his own pack still appeared woefully underdeveloped.

His pack's defenses were absurdly weak, unable to adequately protect its people. He failed to even protect and develop his own land borders, his warriors appeared to lack training and the security within his pack was laughable.

Little wonder Alpha Ray was so eager to appease me and propose a peace treaty- to salvage what remained of our previous alliance, knowing the vulnerability of his own pack.

After the meeting was concluded, Alpha Ray led us to a hall where he prepared various form of entertainment. Although I wasn't particularly interested, I decided to indulge in these seemingly pointless diversions to pass time.

I watched my beta, Damien shamelessly reveled in the mesmerizing performance of the dancers. Damien and his irresistible attraction to women! They were his only secret weakness!

As the servants served us, a delightful fragrance of apples and wild honey suddenly hit my nose. Asher, my wolf stirred and chanted hazily" mate" at the back of my mind.

The tantalizing scent disappeared as quickly as it had arrived, leaving me searching and sniffing around, trying to trace its origin. When I could no longer detect or smell this alluring distinct scent, I attributed it to the influence of the wine I was drinking, believing it had deceived my wolf into thinking we had found our destined mate.

Late at night, I decided to explore the snow jade pack and look around. I ventured deep into the forest to have a quick run and also to clear my head of all deceitful tales Alpha Ray had been spewing to gain sympathy from me.

As I ventured further, a captivating aroma filled the air, captivating my senses. The alluring scent was familiar and my primal instincts stirred within me, compelling me to follow its intoxicating trail.

With unwavering resolve, I pursued the scent of apples and wild honey, the same scent I perceived from the hall hours ago. My curiosity swelled with every step and my wolf couldn't contain his excitement.

"Mate! Mate! She's here!" Asher, my wolf kept chanting and howling in my head.

"What! Mate? Where?" I eagerly questioned, a surge of excitement rushing through me as I yearned to meet my destined mate.

Throughout my life, I had longed to find my mate who would stand by my side as an equal, capable of sharing the responsibilities of leadership. However, consumed by the demands of my pack, I had neglected the quest for love, unable to make the time for such a pursuit.

I kept walking until a captivating sight stopped me in my tracks. There she stood...my mate! She had a gentle presence and a timid demeanor, as I stepped closer, she immediately sensed me and turned to look at me. Her eyes were filled with innocence and vulnerability and her face was an epitome of beauty.

Our eyes locked, she looked at me deeply and exclaimed innocently "Mate".

I held her hands gently and whispered "You are beautiful".

I questioned her name and the pack she belonged to as I was ready to quickly take her into my pack and make her my Luna.

she replied softly "my name is Bella and am from this pack, the Snow jade pack".

A sudden wave of reality crashed upon me. Disappointment overwhelmed my senses as I realized that she belonged to this weak and pathetic pack. Though I concealed my disappointment, deep down, I believed that a strong alpha like myself deserved a mate who possessed the strength to match my own.

Asher, sensing something amiss with our mate, growled and told me via mind link, "She has no wolf!" Curiosity urged me to ask Bella her age.

"How old are you, Bella?" I inquired.

"Oh! I just turned eighteen, I came to the forest to experience my first shift but something's not right as I can't feel my wolf" she replied with confusion.

I already knew that she was had no wolf. She just turned eighteen and hasn't received her wolf yet, even though we shift at the age of sixteen.

Female werewolves with late transition shift at most eighteen and that's it. It was uncommon for a werewolf to be born without a wolf in the werewolf kingdom and they were even considered less favorably than an omega.

I explained to her that she had no wolf and Bella broke into tears. I wanted to leave her behind, knowing that I could never have a Luna with no wolf. But the mate pull was too strong for me to resist.

I found myself embracing and comforting her, and she fit perfectly in my arms. I had been with many women before, but being with my true mate felt different. I blamed the mate pull for the effect Bella's soft body had on me.

As the mate pull tightened its grip, I found myself unable to resist its call. My hand explored her body, tearing off her old dress. I kissed her passionately and felt the warmth of her lips against mine.

She seemed so innocent and inexperienced, which only fueled my desire for her. I invaded her mouth, twirling against her tongue as I gently sucked them with passion. Her mouth tasted like nectar and I couldn't get enough. I was losing control of my mind as I cupped her left breast, massaging them intensely.

"Ah.... please..." Bella moaned.

Her moans were like music to my ears. Slowly, I licked her already aroused nipples while my hand continued to pleasure her other breast. I went further to thrust my middle finger into her tight hole.

I already knew she was a virgin but hearing her say it was like sweet melody to my ears. I made love to her under the full moon, taking her virginity away. She looked at me with adoration, as if I were her greatest treasure, I knew she had questions to ask me but I silenced them all with a long kiss, urging her to rest.

"Tomorrow, we will have the chance to know each other better" I told her.

She sighed contentedly and fell asleep with the warmest smile on my face. I knew I was being an asshole for taking her virginity immediately she turned eighteen but I just couldn't resist the temptation. She was so beautiful and innocent, yet, those qualities weren't enough to make her Luna of blackheart pack.

All night, I argued with Asher, my wolf, giving him so many reasons why I couldn't accept Bella, but he simply seemed disappointed and claimed that we could groom her to be a stronger. My ego and pride also prevented me from introducing a mate without a wolf as my Luna as that would make me a laughing stock in the entire werewolf kingdom.

I severed the link with Asher and proceeded to enjoy the warmth of my mate one last time before I reject her. I wondered how devastated she would be when I rejected her the next day.
